  2. Good article from ESPN. Hell no I wouldn't want Sox pitchers challenging. I agree with the managers pitchers think everything is a strike. Hinch had a good quote: Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch: "I've spent some time talking to our player development group and even some of the players who have gone up and down [to the minors]. I think, similar to the replay, there are subtle little adjustments that everybody's had to make around some new rules. It will fall into a good rhythm and a good understanding of it. I think the first month will probably be the hardest month. Maybe spring will help a little bit. But in the spring, you can try and fail and it's not that penal. "You do that in San Diego or Arizona or a home opener against St. Louis and it's a little more costly. We'll have a running tab on who's good at it and who is not. Because there might be some position players who get their optionality taken away from the challenge call."
  3. I’d prefer Murakami, but I would happily take Okamoto as well.
  4. I’m not worried. James is a great dude with legit info, but I’m confident in my analysis of the situation.
  5. This right here needs to happen to be honest. The state, city and county are all ignorant when it comes to big business and the policies put in place. No one in this state looks at themselves and says "What are we doing here?" In fact, you have many of them telling bold face lies "There are businesses who do support the head tax, so they wouldn't leave" and they can't name one company when pressed. It would suck to lose the Bears to NWI, but at the same time, if it gives the state the kick in the butt it needs to reevaluate things, then maybe it's a loss that just has to happen. In addition, I think as long as they are not compromising on quality, a big stadium in the Chicagoland region will definitely attract all different acts. Heck, Indy is closer and more accessible for quite a few people in Illinois and Indy vs Arlington Heights. Different teams have also shown you that this is more than a viable option - so I wouldn't be concerned with a loss of fans. I say this as someone in the West Burbs That land can be sold if it's as good of an idea that everyone wanted it to be. In addition to this, I think the reason why we are here is because no one is taking this serious. While Illinois is in the catbird's seat, they are blowing it and opening the door for Indiana. And for them to go public about looking at NWI means they have had discussions. And as someone who knows some people in Indy, they are willing to offer a ton of concessions as well as contribute to building the stadium.
  6. I have forgotten what it’s like to root for a team that actually signs players you can expect to be good.
  7. I don’t have season tickets anymore, but never got you free Soxfest tickets. For a while it got you about half off, but not the last several seasons I had them. Pay the man. Nom refundable. They have all sorts of payment plans. I think there is one you pay for 6 months.

  9. Oh f***…dude has a blue check mark which means auto legit
  10. Howdy all, I was looking at getting some Sox Fest tickets, but it seems like the format got changed a bit this year. Looks like Night 1 is only for Season Ticket Holders. So this brought me down the lane of looking into season tickets, because why not? With that stated, deposits online aren't bad. I was wondering a few quick things, however: If you get a Season Ticket package, are Sox Fest tickets free? Are there any plans that are limited or exempt? How much are tickets? I'd be looking at upper deck more than likely. Is the deposit refundable if I decide I don't like the seats or change my mind? When is the typical last payment due date? I'll hang up and listen.
  11. Lining up Justin Ishbia as the next owner of the team and taking action before Ishbia went ahead and bought the Twins. If this indeed goes through, I'll give JR kudos for making this happen. Double kudos if this leads to a privately-financed new stadium for the ballclub. The team also did win the World Series under his ownership. As much as there was a "lightning in a bottle" component to their championship in 2005, Jerry was still the owner and this obviously was the crowning achievement of his ownership.
  12. Murakami is coming is right there. Could it be any clearer?
  13. It's like the ghost of Rick Hahn made that statement saying everything, and nothing, all at the same time.
  14. Because Trade WInds is a Trade Deadline forum. We don't use it during the winter.
  15. Why is there no trade winds forum this year? Because we don't anticipate enough activity?
  16. It is wild to see the Pirates out there involved in everything. Meanwhile in Chicago it looks like Charlie Brown trick or treating.
  17. https://www.draysbay.com/2025/1/16/24345209/rays-2025-international-prospects-signing-tracker Most interesting note here is that the Rays have/had significant interest in Roki Sasaki and a good relationship with his agent. Went through their full $7.5 million 2025 international signing pool in less than 24 hours. An actual seat at the table...?
