  1. Past hour
  2. You are talking two different measures. One is a players progress compared to another. The other is how hard an individual is working. What would Grifol say if moncada wasn't injured? The medical staff needs to know how soon robert can start playing games. That has nothing to do with moncadas progress from injuries. As someone else said you mist have never really had these types if injuries as your medical team would have discussed your progress in these terms. They need feedback from the patient so they can progress the rehab protocol. These decisions can't be made without feedback from the patient. Only they know how the injury feels.
  3. Today
  4. Garcia got a ton of value out of OF assists last year...
  5. Wolkow the young savage 2-4 with a double and a walk and only one K.
  6. I assume you haven't spent much time rehabilitating from an injuries under the supervision of trained medical staff, I take it.
  7. they should say something different. and hey, they did, check it out: "He’s coming along. He’s a little further behind Robert, but he’s also coming along good.” not "Yoan is at 49% while Robert oscillates between 70% and 110%" smartest thing Grifol has said all season.
  8. In general terms because they are not Jerry Reinsdorf and (at least in theory) they will have much more financial resources available to use. Now granted, that doesn't mean they will use them but they'd have a lot of reasons to do so to make their investment even more profitable for said shareholders. And can you be a little more specific on who this new large minority owner is? I've seen on this board speculation about a Mellody Hobson yet she isn't listed at all in the 2024 Sox Media Guide, she is not listed as a minority owner nor on the Board of Directors. Researching her it does say she is part of a group that bought the Denver Broncos but that's all I can find sports-wise, no mention of anything to do with the White Sox. Is there some other individual you are referring to?
  9. Alresdy seen some and I'm not paying close attention to the transaction wires. Grossman and Arraez . Rare but certainly not unheard of. Super rare I'd need to have some kind of value to quantify using such a term. Is it hitting for the cycle super rare, perfect game super rare or no hitter super rare ?
  10. They were also absolutely fucking stupid with the Sox, but in a different way.
  11. Wins? Lmao! Why are you so offended about someone saying that Burgers OPS is absurdly low? Is this your new KC Royals San Diego?
  12. I think hot commodity at this point of the season usually means getting some initial phone calls looking for someone hot and giving up a garbage return. Of course you could take a shot that Flexen stays hot if you can spot changes he's made that you think are sustainable, but most GMs would rather give it more time knowing either way they know the Sox would be pleased to move him.
  13. Hopefully, Moncada is “earning” that much smaller paycheck on some other team’s IL next year.
  14. You can have Vaughn OR Sheets. I'll take Burger. Final season OPS. Highest number wins.
  15. Be more specific. Are we talking top 30 in all of MLB or someone in top 30 team prospects ? Usually when you say top 30 it corresponds with team prospects rather than league prospects . Top 30 MLB prospect, no, not a chance. Top 30 of any particular team is very likely since that covers 900+ different prospects. And even then rankings don't mean everything. Was Tatis, Jr. ever in the Sox top 30 ?
  16. 4 guys in the top 100 should be considered about average (1 out of 25 of the top 100 top prospects are in your org), no? Either way, nice to see the minor league system achieve respectability.
  17. Duh. There is no team in baseball in a worse position than the White Sox. Still don't know what that has to do with the OPS of Jake Burger.
  18. The Marlins are still better positioned for the future than the White Sox...and that's despite having one of the five worst farm systems in baseball and only the 16th pick in the first round of this June's draft.
  19. I like the 1st paragraph because reaching a conclusion without knowledge is BS. What's that called in court ? Conjecture ? Object to conjecture and it's usually disallowed. Doubtful his career is done since it's likely he comes back this year. His highest paychecks are behind him but he'd be a great bench depth piece for someone wanting a strong glove and switch hitting bat for minimal money. It actually right up Getz's alley which is usually where you find garbage.😋
  20. BTW.......Earlier in December 2021, the A's had submitted a bid to acquire the Tropicana site and redevelop it into a ballpark prior to the Bally's acquisition. MLB, in reaction to the A's interest in Nevada, decided to remove a relocation fee for the team in the event that they move to Las Vegas. Never say never, when it comes to the Sox relocating based on an expansion or relocating fee.
  21. Not sure what the other six guys have to do with Jake Burgers OPS, but sure.
  22. How does a corporation owning the Sox make things better? Literally their fiduciary duty is to shareholders first and screw everyone else... sound familiar? I still get the feeling that taking on a new large minority owner is pretty telling of who the next majority owner will be, as why else would they be buying in at that volume without a plan to purchase more?
  23. And yet they can't even come up with a legitimate1B, even if you give the Sox multiple first and second round attempts at it...well, I guess Vaughn has improved his flexibility almost enough to do the splits, so that has to be worth something or other. In the end, the Marlins are going to be sold off for a new set of position players while they wait for their pitching staff to return to health. Chisholm will get them something legit back. Alcantara, Cabrera and Eury Perez are the keys to anything that franchise is going to do in the future.
  24. I hope your right, I really do! Thanks for the inside information.
  25. It's been stated actually by many others especially the part about the expansion fees which I completely forgot about. But feel free to keep sounding the siren of doom for the franchise. 😆 That is certainly your right. Here's the bottom line, it's really simply, the day JR no longer owns the franchise things IMMEDIATELY get better, it is hard to imagine ANY ownership group which gets the team doing worse. And my personal opinion based on what I've been told is that the odds are a corporation will own the Sox next and not a single entity because of how much they'll have to pay.
  26. It is really impressive to put up a WORSE counting number than Nicky Lopez in 40 LESS PAs.
  27. Pretty challenging to come up with many starting rotations better than this current Sox-related one: 1) Cease 2) Sale 3) Lopez 4) Rodon 5) Your choice of Lynn, Dunning, or Montas Chris Bassitt would traditionally have been up there but definitely not THIS season, at least so far.
