  1. a $153,670,000 payroll would have only been the 13th highest payroll in baseball last year. The fact that so many on here think that a plan like this is completely unrealistic just goes to show how low our expectations have become. It's quite sad.

  2. I am honestly SOOOO baffled by the overwhelming support of Grandal >>>> JD Martinez. It really doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Literally a top 3 hitter in the game. I understand Grandal is a good hitter and defender. But my lord, what catchers actually catch into their mid-30s and are successful? Certainly not many, if any. Plus many of you want to sign Grandal to DH him 2-3 times a week to get McCann in the lineup.... Isn't that what JD would do but on a far higher scale. LH vs RH batter matters if the hitters are close to the same scale.. But they are't even in the same stratosphere. I simply don't get it.

  3. I hope that knee injury to Mahomes isn't serious. He was in serious pain. Why Reid would call for a QB sneek with a guy with a bum ankle is baffling to me.

  4. I don't think the amount of money given out is unrealistic.. I think signing the #4-8 free agents is unrealistic. There are other teams.

  5. Is Bumgarner still a good thing. Maybe a visit from Kate Upton would turn back the clock.

  8. I think the White Sox understand the importance of this off-season. They talked a big game last year and came up short - destroying their PR even further and alienating their fanbase. They have been relatively quiet with this offseason approaching and I would consider that good news; they appear to have learned from their mistake. They said the "money will be spent" and I think they understand the importance of meeting expectations this time around. Time will tell.

  9. You know that none of the Boras clients will sign early. He will play them off one another and they won't sign until a month into spring training.

  10. A trade would most likely get us a better right fielder than the free agent options, but would a guy we could get via trade be so much better than a stop gap RF free agent that it would push us to a World Series? And if the answer is no (which is almost certainly is), then why waste any prospects at this point in time? Just sign a guy to a one year deal and see if any of our OF prospects can be our right fielder in 2021. If they can’t, then maybe there is a better RF free agent option next offseason. And if that doesn’t work, then make a trade next offseason. I just don’t see any benefit of a trade right now.

  11. Fans of Luis Alexander Basabe were hoping to see him potentially play on the south side in 2019 after what could have been a major leap in development. However, Basabe dealt with several injuries that split up his season. His overall numbers don't look great, but after a little digging, our Ken Sawilchik found some fascinating discoveries. Read the interview and feature Ken did on Basabe HERE.

  12. Me too man. Hands down our most important prospect to get right. That makes the Sox a dynasty easily.

  13. Yes, I’m miserable because I prefer winning baseball over non-winning baseball. I’ll probably burn in hell for harboring such ideals. You’re not exactly a bed of rose petals yourself with all of your angry retorts to posters who don’t share your exact point of view on all matters White Sox.

  14. I'm actually starting to warm to the idea that the Sox will have a pretty good chance at signing him if he opts out.
