  1. I still don't get the cry for another SP. Kopech and Cease are getting the ball out of the gate. Lopez is still in the plans also. A full ST at the ML camp for Stiever can only help his progression also. Focus on landing the big bullpen piece with the rest of the $$$.
  2. Other than Albert Belle, the Sox have never operated this way in my lifetime. And with a Pandemic, I much less expected this to be the off-season they decided to drop a 9 figure contract on someone. But this time around it bothers me way less since I believe in what they have already here for a core. If the Sox are going to win a World Series, it's because of this core already here and not because of some unicorn free agent.
  3. That would still make it a very good off-season and a much improved roster. Not sure how that's underwhelming.
  4. The part that gives me hope on Hendricks is Tony LarRussa. Historically, he's not a bullpen by committee guy (he basically invented the closer role with Eckersley).
  5. When a guy is rumored this way for the Sox, it never ends up happening.
  6. Sign a LF, move Eloy there where he belongs.
  7. The Sox have plenty DH options in house. I don't want to ever see another Encarnacion handcuff.
  8. It's a delusional fanbase. Every offseason, it's the same thing and this being a fanbase that prides itself as being smarter than the next one. What we have seen so far with the Lynn and Eaton moves is the same old "Sox way of doing business." Not sure where the shock comes from. However, unlike past patchwork acquisitions, there is an elite level core already in place this time around for which these moves make way more sense than the past. While I'd love to one day see the Sox make headlines and landing a Big Whale with no questions asked, I don't feel it's as urgently necessary this time around. However, I do not want to hear excuses down the line about not being able to retain our own home grown talent. So far, they have honored that part by jumping on early deals to lock up most of our core for an year or two beyond free agency. Need to see the same done for Giolito here soon. I hate to sound like dumb ass Bernstein on the Score, but the Sox are a lot closer to winning the World Series here today.
  9. No way on any playing field is Dunning ahead of Kopech or Cease.
  10. The White Sox are a much better team going into 2021 right now and have improved their chances of contending for a World Series. That's all that matters.
  11. You would think. But go listen to that fanbase, they are as miserable today as they were before winning the World Series. The exact thing will happen here knowing our fanbase.
  12. How did "buying" a championship go for the Cubs? While I'd love to win another WS, look at how miserable it feels to have a one and done for them. I'd be careful in signing the next Jason Heyward or trading away the next Eloy or Gleybar.
  13. I think people are missing the point. Kasper did not jump ship to do TV again (or in the near future). He wants to do radio, exclusively.
  14. Good chance Kasper does a lot of TV in relief if Benetti continues his rise on the National stage.
  15. There's an elite level SP out there that would cost you not a single one of your prized prospects, Bauer. Time to play with the big boys and hang out a 9 figure contract for once. Enough with this nonsense.
  16. While I'd like to have Lynn on this rotation for 2021, trading for one year stopgaps is what I thought we'd finally get away from. This is the same old "Sox way of doing business." Sign FREE Agents. FREE being the key word.
  17. Looking at Stroman's career numbers, I don't see anything special with this guy. He's Jose Quintana level. And the Sox could probably get Quintana on a year deal for about half of what Stroman signed for.
  18. Isn't the whole Tony LaRussa hate have to do about his political beliefs on kneeling to the flag?
  19. Thank you for saying this. The Cancel Culture, which is what this is here, never ever thinks about the consequences in the big picture. Driving drunk is a problem and LaRussa needs help. But really, he's a 76 old man and unfortunately people like this don't change this late in the game of life. I would hope Reinsdorf would do the morally correct thing here and terminate his contract. But then again, he's another stubborn old man stuck in his ways.
  20. The sky is falling again for White Sox fans: The Machado fiasco - "I'm done with this team" The LaRussa hire - "I'm done with this team" The LaRussa DUI - "I'm done with this team" Guess what, the White Sox are still a very damn good young baseball team and I can't wait for ST come March.
  21. People need to get off the Hinch shit. He was never an option. It was LaRussa's availability and desire to manage again that forced them to dump Renteria. It's that simple.
  22. Clearly your weren't alive for the Terry Bevington era.
