  1. A 3-7 run happens to every team, including good ones. But the Sox are getting exposed somewhat. I don't know why some are assuming the Sox have already won the division. That race isn't over yet.
  2. Just get a reliever or two, for god's sake.
  3. I never liked Tim's theatrics, but he is a talent that doesn't come along all that often. It would be very hard for the Sox to be a contender without him. And yes, other players should stop with their own theatrics. When they hit the ball, run, even if it is trotting. They can admire their homers on ESPN or some other highlight show.
  4. I would like to see Eloy play without getting hurt.
  5. That the Sox need Eloy and Robert back because this offense can really stink.
  6. You're probably right about Jerry and LaRussa, and I think that's a problem. But JR is in charge, and he can do what he wants. I don't see the team collapsing, either, and I'm hoping for some prudent moves or move during the next week. Many say anything can happen in the playoffs, and that's true. But I really don't see the team having success in the post season with the bullpen it currently has.
  7. Especially in the age of replay, I would hope a runner would be absolutely sure he tagged home before walking away. I don't care what the call is. If there is any doubt, just go back and tag the plate again.
  8. Hahn really needs to get at least one reliever. I don't expect much more. You have to wonder how the FO is evaluating this team. Does it really think the club is really ready to make a Series run? Some fans have a laundry list to fill at the deadline. Second baseman, corner outfielder, at least one reliever. Not realistic because the Sox would have to give up a ton for this. So, please, just get a steady reliever. We have an offseason to address concerns. The rebuild is at the point where one can see what the club truly needs. Evaluate everything, including the manager. Hahn should do what he can in the next few days. Mortgaging the future isn't one of them, because the future is in plain sight.
  9. Outscored 20-4 the last three games. They don't appear ready.
  10. An outfielder or second baseman would be a luxury. The bullpen is the obvious weakness. Bringing in Lopez, even in a low leverage situation, says a lot about this bullpen. No additions to the bullpen equals no success in the playoffs. A team can only do so much at the deadline. Have to get at least one reliever. I don't expect someone like Kimbrel. Just get someone.
  11. Outscored 14-3 the last two games. When this team stinks, it stinks. I don't understand why Kopech is being coddled.
  12. Obviously, the Sox need bullpen help before anything else. Yet, the Cruz thing is not as dumb as it seems. This offense is good, but there are days when it can barely scratch out a hit. Cruz can help. I understand priorities, and the club has to do other things first. But I wouldn't rule out Cruz.
  13. Not to mention that dying from Covid is not a peaceful way to go. I also wonder why some don't believe over 600,000 has died from the disease.
  14. This would be great, but what makes you so sure that trades like this can happen?
  15. Not a LaRussa fan, but I even enjoyed the Sheets-LaRussa hug. There is the bunting, however, In game two against the Twins, LaRussa called for a bunt with a slow runner on first. The bunt wasn't perfect, but it was decent enough. The runner was thrown out at second easily, and the Twins almost pulled off a double play. Then, there is the choice to start Lopez in game two. I didn't think that was a good choice, especially when there is always a possibility of losing game one. Lopez did all right, but I saw that as a real risk to lose a doubleheader to a lousy team like the Twins. Saved by Sheets heroics. The Sox are winning, so I'm not going to dwell on LaRussa that much. If they win with him, fine. It's about the team. I just think the Sox should have given this matter more thought. I'm not going to apologize for feeling that way.
  16. I have watched the replay over and over, too. He saved the Sox. The offense looked so pathetic tonight. Weak fly balls and strike outs. There is something special about Sheets.
  17. Don't misconstrue what I said. One thing at a a time. Besides, I don't believe in chasing after red-baiting conspiracy theories. It's funny how some didn't worry about Russian interference in the 2016 election but worry about unproven paranoia. Meanwhile, people should take the vaccine.
  18. You are right about the stupid noise. There is absolutely no proof that Fauci is benefiting from the pandemic. Was it created in a lab? I could care less. The main objective should be to get things under control and taking the vaccine is one way to do that. And no, those ailing patients in hospitals are not actors. For god's sake.
  19. The future being bright was the whole point of my post. Just how bright is the real question. Like I said, I am hoping real history will be made and made for a long time.
  20. I recall sitting at the ball park in 2013 feeling despondent. It wasn't just that the Sox were on their way to losing almost 100 games. The club seemed rudderless, with no leadership and direction. The future looked totally bleak. As fun as this season has been, I see much more at stake. The team has a real chance to become an elite Major League franchise not only for this year, but for this decade. They won't go to the World Series every year, but it would be great to see that the rest of the American League will know it will have to go through Chicago to go to Series. It will be great to know that this will be the case for more than one year. The rebuild was no fun, but we are finally seeing the results. I'm hoping that 2021 is only the start. I'm hoping the rebuild will truly be completed and that real history will be made on the South Side.
  21. Cease did look good, and the fact that the starting pitching gave up four runs in three games is truly impressive. Forget everything else and get a decent arm to shore up the bullpen. That will really make this team a dangerous threat in the playoffs.
  22. Don't worry about it. Many in the media still don't know the White Sox won in 2005. The media, starting with idiot Chuck Garfien, doesn't matter. It's nice to cheer for a contender after the drought of the last decade.
  23. I am going to date myself big time, but this reminds me of the great pitching the 1967 Sox had. Only that team didn't have any hitting while this one does. Looking forward to my trip to the park tomorrow.
  24. The upper level sucks big time. Will never sit up there again.
  25. Another Astros game. Another pounding. Looking forward to the playoffs.
