  1. The 9-10 mil it would have taken for Wainwright probably wasnt worth it tbh. Im surprised that he got that much from cardinals.
  2. Agreed 100%. I actually love the moves they made and think Eaton is actually going to be more 2019 than 2020 this season. That being said, the 12-15 million needed for next level team construction is baffling if it's not spent. I am high on Vaughn crushing it right away, but for both him and Kopech you need to probably do some time manipulation and the 45 days or so without them would literally make or break their chances at the best record in the league or even Division if twins add more still.
  3. The funny thing is its really not. Its gonna be 3/39 and dissolved cash over 10 years. This is my saddest day as a sox fan in years. I realky thought they would do at least a move or two for depth
  4. I have been one of the more complimentary fans on their off-season. If it truly is over without a trade, Cruz signing or SP addition...Fuck Jerry Reinsdorf and i may even be fine with Fuck Hahn and Kenny too for backing down.
  5. I love my Chicago to death, but now that i live in Atlanta i would kill for them to move to Nashville. They would support well and the tourism boom in the summer would guarantee near sellouts most nights
  6. Yep, Bauer to mets tonight or tomorrow for sure
  7. DH forward plan makes sense in 2 ways... 1. Go with Vaughn and he mashes (Yermin can start season if they want to tweak service time) 2. Sign Cruz for 2 years, Trade Vaughn for Burnes/#2, and Eloy becomes DH year 3 when Coespedes is hopefully LF starter and Colas or new FA is RF.
  8. What options on the market pitched more than 142 inning s in 2019? Not many tbh
  9. Depth adds are needed for sure. But the yankees added Kluber and Talilon, so let's not laud them for addressing full season needs either.
  10. I've been outspoken about Bauer at the right price. But people acting like Lynn isn't a huge move are on the spectrum also. My point is that LaStella, Richards and all these fringe guys are not going to change the fact that this team is already awesome
  11. Deflection. Is this team not the best in the central? Are they world series competitors with only the yankees and blue jays as legitimate threats? JR was never spending 60 mil this off-season. And anyone who thinks they are not better is just silly.
  12. 18 games against the sox at a 350 clip combined with 220ish elsewhere probably puts him right in line for 260ish
  13. The crow to be had here when moncada is another 5+ war player, Vaughn is the real deal and madrigal wins a batting title is going to be so delicious. Should they have signed Bauer...yep. but this idea that one free agent was going to tip the scales from the best team in the division is really getting tiresome. I've never seen a more pessimistic group of fans in my life. Why do you torture yourself?
  14. So getting the 3rd best starting pitcher available, the best closer in MLB and allowing your absolute stud DH prospect actually play is an underwhelming off-season? Okay cool. Glad that this team will be a 95 win embarrassment.
  15. Is this a case of another 220 hitter against the league and 350 slap dick menace against the sox? I hope not
  16. I've been here for several years...only posted for the last two. I can't remember a time I laughed harder. All the Rep your way!
  17. Good point about moving onto talking about Cruz again. Similar to Hendriks, Cruz has been perusing this forum post and has decided to stay with the Twins in light of seeing bat shit crazy fans arguing for pages on end...
  18. His Facebook post. It's very interesting. But he basically calls out the media in a very big way and asks to be taken off the ballot. He brings up some very legit points...but it also seems on par with his polarizing style they disliked in the first place
  19. Schilling is a really interesting case. His regular season numbers are good, his postseason resume is legendary, and since his retirement he is a total dick in life. The letter he wrote today probably keeps him from ever getting in at this point
  20. Ah. I got you now. Took me a hot second.
  21. Because he is a troll and we are all dumb enough to fall for it.
  22. Seriously. Raga, imagine being a twins fan this off-season.
  23. Pretty fair deal for both sides. And a good bump in salary over the #2 best catcher in baseball...
  24. Good thing we don't have a rolling eye emoji that was anonymous...
  25. so is Bob getting played to get another higher offer? No way any other team in baseball will give him 37-38 a year. I just don't see it.
