  1. haha. oh yeah. the playoffs in the NL is gonna be a bloodbath the next 3 years.
  2. Why? He goes to another league, will massively underperform and in hindsight everyone will be glad that Sox didn't pay him 38 mil a season. If anything this is best case scenario as the Mets/Dodgers/Padres can all beat the hell out of each other and the Sox can destroy their division. Bauer was a dream. We all wanted him...but just because he was the shiny object. Also...if they went record breaking AAV....that is NOT going to get good return on investment.
  3. Hey, positivity! Love it. You should really try it sometime. It's nice
  4. You said Lynn and Keuchel are both due for regression without giving any reason why. Post one positive thing you've said this off-season. One.
  5. Kluber replaces tanaka (I'd rather have tanaka given kluber's injury) and talilon is coming off a 2nd TJ. They are flat ...and according to resident negative Nancy...you regress automatically if you are over 30.. and yankees have many over 30.
  6. You didn't answer my question. How have the Rays, Twins or Yankees improved this off-season? Heres a fact check...they haven't at all. And you are deflecting.
  7. Okay, riddle me this...what have the Rays, Yankees or Twins done to fight regression this off-season? I'll wait for a realistic answer.
  8. I think 95 wins is not ahead of anything. It's realistic without major injury. IF and it's a huge If...Katz has unlocked Cease it's better than any free agent other than Bauer this off-season. This team has flaws. All do. But I just can't see why people could possibly be down on the next 2-3 years
  9. So eaton replacing the biggest black hole this team has ever seen and Vaughn (hopefully) replacing negative value DH value aren't major improvements? Why the duck is Lynn going to regress? You don't just find spin rate and effectiveness out of nowhere. And news flash....Keuchel is really good. If anything why aren't you talking about the definite improved production out of moncada, Eloy, robert, madrigal and potentially giolito that is coming?
  10. 4 of 10 cy young candidates. The most complete young lineup In the league and arguably the best bullpen in team history. A new analytical pitching coach and as much as I hate to say it...one of the best coaches in modern history. This is NOT some random year. The cynicism is understood from past years, but to think this team is anything but a 95 win team and a threat for the world series is baffling. Ask the Twins fans how this off-season has gone...
  11. If you think this is an 88 win team gtfo. Seriously. You don't deserve to be a fan. Horrible division. Mediocre AL and the best offense in our lifetime.
  12. Got it. yeah, that makes sense. Honestly I could see them merging the minor leagues into camps again. Another lost season of prospect advancement will cripple trades and talent evaluation. If you have any helium prospects...you probably should trade them now before they burst.
  13. So...do you put Vaughn on AAA team and move him to MLB as soon as it starts? I really can't believe AAA would start before the bigs do though.
  14. the ONLY way that Sox have any chance of getting Bauer would be if it's a 2-3 year deal...and Lynn would not be resigning at all for payroll reasons. I like the Lynn addition a lot (especially if he gets a 2 year extension), but seeing how the FA class has been slow to sign, no way the Sox expected Bauer to be this available still. I can't blame Hahn for that, but making that Lynn move so early in the offseason may have been jumping the gun a bit.
  15. Well put together...don't sell Lynn short though. If he is what he was the last two years ..thats a plus advantage
  16. The white sox are very likely to be in the ALCS and potentially the world series. The Cardinals have zero shot. That alone is reason...and with his ability to still be average or better... A #5 spot in the rotation is a nice landing spot for him. This move is fine. If he sucks he is being replaced by Kopech anyways...but if he is healthy...he won't suck.
  17. F all of you for not giving Katz and Cease love. You all are gonna eat crow
  18. Hendriks is much more important to winning a world series than a #4 starter they need for half a season. Unless Kopech gets traded...they want him as part of the team. Everything changed when they got Katz. He believes in Cease clearly.
  19. Vaughn spent last summer hitting against all the Sox best pitching prospects on a daily basis. To me...that is even MORE invaluable than a bunch of has been 30+ year old junkballers in AAA. He is ready. He is smash. He excite.
  20. If they get cruz...mendick and leury would be just fine
  21. Sorry, i wrote that wrong...If Wainright is healthy...I don't see him getting taken out of rotation...not his results. This is one of those stubborn TLR type things I could see..."not removing my guy" whatever the results are. As others have said...this means Cease is pitching well though, so it's a good thing.
  22. I like the idea of Wainwright...except if he looks good, no way TLR goes to Kopech when he is ready. They need to do 1of 2 things...Sign or trade for a stud (Kopech is in purgatory or traded) or find a Starter for 3 months (honestly why most would choose another team). Tough place to be.
  23. With news that Dodgers wanna go short term...that makes this tough. Here is my best proposal that would be really hard to say no to if he wants to win: 3 years/100 million guaranteed. 5 million bonus for winning Cy Young each season. Year 4 automatically vests if he wins one of those Cy Youngs at 38 million with an opt out option. This makes him the highest paid AAV each season if he wins the Cy Young but also limits the years...and if he is crushing it you Gladly pay that 4th year price or he decides it's time for one more payday elsewhere. TREVOR...just do it. Win a Cy Young, be the highest paid pitcher. Spit in Cole's face as you help lead Sox to one or two world series championships.
