  1. From this list, I'd like to see: * Pearl Jam * Ben Folds * Mastodon * Against Me! * Aimee Mann * Bonnaroo Late Night Chat About with David Cross * Zach Galifianakis * Brian Posehn * Mike Birbiglia
  2. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) Man, why, there's like no dialogue left after the editing. Really! Watching Slap Shot on TBS is like watching GoodFellas on TBS. It's still very good, but it's just not the same!
  3. How the f*** could I forget about HAPPY GILMORE???? I LOVE that movie!
  4. QUOTE(Shadows @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) I am the biggest Orton fan here But not even I am blind enough to see there is no way Orton wins.. Super Cena vs HHH, and I am SICKENED Yeah, but what can you do? Tripsy McMahon gets to cherry-pick his "victims" and he must want to get some heel heat without turning full heel again. As underwhelmed as I am by Orton, he's light-years ahead of Cena to me. Cena makes me grab for the remote immediately....it takes a few seconds when Orton comes on.
  5. Eight Men Out Slap Shot Rocky & Rocky II Major League & Major League II Caddyshack
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 5, 2008 -> 07:35 AM) It sure doesn't hurt to play on the best team money can buy... Detroit is currently in the middle of the pack salary-wise. They have a payroll approximately 1 million dollars higher than the Blackhawks. Their projected final payroll for this season is about 200K more than the Hawks, according to this link: http://www.nhlscap.com/teamnumbers.htm They have approximately 5 mil to play with under the cap at this point. It's not about spending any more with the Wings, it's about spending wisely. EDIT to say that "upper-middle of the pack" is probably a fairer assessment of Detroit's current payroll, and they're projected to end up still in the "upper middle" range.
  7. QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) Yeah, I don't know what the Irving-Plaza thing is. This place is at the corner of 191st and Harlem. I live at the corner of 183rd and Harlem, so it's right down the street. It's called Brookside Marketplace or something like that. If you're driving down I-80 East you can see it on your right just as you are approaching the Harlem South exit. My cousin lives in Mokena, so I take Harlem to 191st and turn right when I go to visit him. I've been past that mall many times, but have never stopped to shop there.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) I've only see that HIP eff up on the Fox site. This is Harlem and 191st St. The strip mall is called Brookside, iirc. I saw it on 3 or 4 listings when I Googled it. Probably multiples of the same original story. I think Brookside is right - I knew I heard a different name, but I couldn't remember it or find it in any reports.
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 09:43 AM) I thought Harlem Irving Plaze was in Norridge? I worked at the Foot Locker there a couple decades ago. Yeah, Harlem-Irving is in Norridge, but everything I'm seeing online says this is Harlem-Irving, too. Weird.

  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 4, 2008 -> 12:30 AM) http://youtube.com/watch?v=kJ2yK5C9Ae4 That clip will live in infamy. Way to make an ass of yourself Mr. Brady. Maybe he was laughing because 17 points seemed too high.
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 10:03 PM) I recall two more words. "Oh no!!!!!" My favorite two words that douche ever said. His Ron Santo moment - it was hilarious.
  13. Congratulations to the Giants. Very impressive run, winning 4 road games to take the trophy. So Bill couldn't stay to watch the end of the game? Well, maybe he'll see it on tape.
  14. Gonna be at work, and I'm not upset about that at all.
  15. To be fair to Lesnar, he had Mir in some trouble, and he was landing a bunch of shots while Mir was not really "intelligently defending himself". I've seen fights stopped before in a similar situation. That was a hell of a countermove by Mir to get the kneebar.
  16. QUOTE(Random @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) We could do without havlat.... what we really need is Toews back.... It's kind of sad that a team would be so reliant on a rookie, even one as talented as Toews. The whole deal about veterans is always said to be leadership and reliability, and Havlat's showing none of that this year. Some of it can be pinned on the injury, but he's been back for a while now and he seems to be regressing. Oh, and Krush.....................Khabibulin was great today.
  17. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 10:08 PM) Savvy said he chose Barker because he has done well in practice doing shootouts.... That SWEET move he tried against Nabakov begs to differ.
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) Barker Savvy, really, Barker? Even with Toews and JWill out, the Hawks only have 4 forwards capable of being in the SO? Skille? Ruutu? Anyone??? I would have put in Sopel or even Wiz before Barker. Sorry, I just don't get it. Oh, and Critic, I agree about Havlat. 1.He is made of glass 2.Have never seen anything about him being a solid team mate 3.Incredibly soft 4. I understand he has been injured, but the fact remains he has 6 goals in 24 games. Pretty sure Rocky isn't enjoying paying Havlat a million a goal..... I'm just not seeing real effort from Havlat any more, and that's what grating my nerves. I'm sorry, but if you have the win in your hands, I want a better idea going in there than Havlat seemed to have. And I agree with all sane human beings, Barker as your 5th guy is just ridiculous. I'd put Skille, Ruutu, St. Pierre, Wiz, Sopel and Bourque in there before even considering Barker.
  19. I'm starting to not like Martin Havlat very much. What a lifeless attempt in the shootout when he had the game on his stick. JR buries a sweet wrister and San Jose wins 3-2 in the SO.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) There is going to be a big deal for the Hawks here real soon. They are going to shake it up quickly. They pretty much have to. Tallon talked about an imminent deal a while ago and it never happened. I'm hoping the fact that he's not talking now means something is on the horizon. I really hope the next veteran Tallon acquires has a thicker skin than Havlat. Being healthier than Havlat would help, too.
  21. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 08:02 AM) Who said "and you guys thought I was a pain in the ass"? I wonder if that person was speaking of Berman or of the people Berman was complaining about. With his hand gestures and everything though, I get the feeling he had been watching a lot of Lewis Black, he just forgot the "funny" part of Black. ...there's a funny part to Lewis Black?....
  22. Decent segment on Impact just now. Bubba cut a surprisingly good promo (he was intense, believable, and gave a good line - "if God was a heel, he'd be in Team 3D"), then Little Macho and the Popguns did a pretty good comedy skit mocking the ECW-era Dudleyz until the Dudz and Devine beat them down, dragged them to the ring and tabled them all. And then Christy Hemme and her nobodies come out and kill my interest. Ah well....
  23. QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) Quite the cunning linguist are we? Using that phrase like you did was quite a cunning stunt!
  24. Judging by the 30 Years of Monday Night Football 1970-2000 backdrop, I'd say it's from 2000. That's a great clip - I love that sports guy bats*** flipout stuff.
  25. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) Peter Forsberg is looking for a team... link If the foot really is healthy, Tallon should take a good hard look at him.
