  1. Well, at least he won't have problems with his girlfriend in Poland anymore. Question - if a knife and a dick are flying at you at the same time, which do you duck away from?
  2. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) Yeah they would. You think the Smiths one time reunion wouldn't bring 20K to a Tweeter Center for 100 a pop? I don't know if they would or not. Maybe? The Pixies got 35 bucks a ticket, the Cult 40, Billy Idol 47. I don't know if the Smiths hold enough status with as many people. Maybe I'm underestimating their position in the world of alt-rock nostalgia?
  3. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 10:09 AM) I hate the whole Smiths-Morrisey-Cure sound. Whiny, dickless crap. There, I feel better. I love the Cure. Not crazy about the Smiths or Morrissey. And bmags, I don't deny that they were fairly popular in their day, but I do think their legend has overshot their actual popularity back then. Even with their "mythical" status, an offer of $5 mil for one show is hard to believe.
  4. I just read that the Smiths *supposedly* turned down a $5 million offer to reunite for Coachella. ( I'm not buying that dollar figure for one minute - the Smiths were an okay band, I just don't think they'd merit that kind of cash for a one-off appearance )
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 08:10 AM) Yep, I got my Lolla tix yesterday, $112.00 for two, 3 day passes. Great deal BUT, the line up sux ass. :headshake I might sell the Lolla passes and use the loot go to both Into and PMF. There are maybe two bands I'm interested in seeing at Lollapalooza, but I'm not their target audience anymore anyway.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) All the more reason for KW to sign a guy like Osuna. If there is an injury to our rotation, McCarthy will have to move into the rotation and our bullpen will be further weakened. USA versus Mexico just started. Maybe Osuna will pitch an inning or two. It certainly couldn't hurt to give a guy like Osuna another look.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) Brandon McCarthy is another pretty good bullpen arm right now. I think he was implying a move to the rotation for McCarthy if Count is out for any length of time. I'm fairly concerned about the bullpen right now - not panicky by any means, but I'd like to see how some of the current contenders fare against guys who'll be in the bigs come April.
  8. That incident happened last October, by the way.* Not sure why this news took 5 months to break. *according to building officials.
  9. I already have tickets for Wednesday's game, so I'm passing on the COTC.
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) http://www.theheckler.com/index.php?page=0...rub=65&idsite=1 The poll question is the funniest part of that story: "When will Kerry Wood and Mark Prior appear together again in the Cubs rotation? Never or All Of The Above"
  11. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 08:55 AM) Hmmmm, and I know of somebody who works there who also happens to be off of work today. Hmmmmm... You're half right, as always. He's off tomorrow.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) I believe in aliens, and I'm not a Scientologist. I'm not saying that they have been here, but with as large as space is, it's crazy to think there isn't life out there someplace else. ....cuckoo.....cuckoo......cuckoo......
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) Wow, I thought I was the only one who liked this design? Then again I couldn't stand the 83 look (and still can't) so anything was an improvement. I didn't like the 83 "toothpaste tube" uniforms. The only thing I liked from that era was the road cap. It took a while for me to warm up to the Campbell's Soup "C" on the late 80's uniforms, but I thought they looked good.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) Yeah, so when Boone earns a roster position and DOMINATES major league competition I'm creating a new fan group: The Boone-Dock Saints. Even though I'm the only person (it seems) whom dislikes the movie, the play on words works well. Anyone steals this from me, and the punishment will be EPIC. How about Boone's Farmers? Could be a combo fan club for Logan, Sleepy Ed, and that QUALITY adult beverage.
  15. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 09:44 PM) Happy Birthday, HARRR... OOOLLLDDD!!! The only pictures more rare than this one of Harold smiling are ones of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot. You know, as much as I love the classic look of the current Sox uniforms, I do miss the uniform in this picture. I still have the old warmup jacket from this era, but it sure as hell don't fit me anymore.....too many pizzas under the bridge by now.....
  16. A Cub fan, no doubt.....or perhaps Batgirl??
  17. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 03:37 AM) He said it: "There is no more passionate owner in sports than Bill Wirtz and the Wirtz family," Bettman said. "This is just going to be a question of getting back on track. They were a little unlucky, and they have acknowledged they made some mistakes." If Dollar Bill is so passionate, would that make his murdering of the Blackhawks franchise a Crime Of Passion? Worst is only passionate about who's going to buy his beer.
  18. This is so funny. Too bad Simon Diamond is so horrible.
  19. Who's the one who looks like Kelly Clarkson and Simon said sounded like Kelly Clarkson? I came in the living room to get my daughter ready for bed and I looked at the TV and said "What's SHE doing back on here?" My wife said, "Yeah, she kinda looks like Kelly Clarkson, huh?" and laughed.
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) Well, thanks for your pointless post anyways. You'll never catch SS2k5 ya know, so just give it up. My post had a point.....and your response was everything I wanted it to be. And NO ONE will catch 2k5 unless his arms fall off, we all know this!
  21. "For the first time in franchise history, the season ticket base will be nearly 21,500 in 2006." I'd link to the story where I got this fact, but it's at the top of this thread already.
  22. Can't help ya, haven't seen the commercial. Commercials are SO "pre-remote control".....
  23. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 12, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Bonds homered today His bat was on steroids.
  24. It's impressive that the Sox starters throw the amount of innings they do without going over 120 pitches very often. Of course, the article doesn't say how many 118-pitch outings they had.....
