  1. Have fun out there. I still haven't seen a concert announced that I want to break my hiatus for.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) Has Prior pitched yet? 30 BP pitches yesterday. Trying to get him his first "simulated win" next week. Amazing how careful they're being with the man with Supercalves and The Perfect Pitching Motion.
  3. To me, the easiest thing to do is "predict" that the Sox won't repeat. It's very difficult to repeat, so many things have to fall into place for you. It's a cop-out move - if the Sox get to the ALCS and lose, Everett and Thomas and every other "psychic" can say "SEE? Told Ya!!" when the fact is the Sox would still have had a very successful season. In my mind, it's cheap talk and sour grapes, mixed in with a bit of self-overvaluation on Carl and Frank's part. The "third place in the division" part loses any credibility Carl might have had, though.
  4. ...but First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre??? UGH. http://firstmidwestbankamphitheatre.com/main.html Just heard about the name change today - with a clunky name like that, I'd try to low-key it, too.
  5. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) Indeed, I did. Good thing nobody mentioned Ronnie Garvin... "Hands Of Stone", just like Jose Valentin!!
  6. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) Good lord, I can't even believe Tommy Rich has been mentioned here. That'd be like bringing up a player from the 80's who hit a winning homer in a meaningless game. Take out the "80's" part and you just described Borch.
  7. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Well, if it went AJ-Joe-AJ, then it'd be transitional. If Borch ever did win it, he'd pray for a Tommy Rich title reign. [/inside joke]
  8. I like it, it's corny but fun. If someone like Borchard wins it for a 500-footer, will he be a Transitional Champion? [/inside joke]
  9. ....and boom goes the dynamite....
  10. I honestly wouldn't have minded if they could have found a taker for Khabibulin.
  11. and a 2nd rounder. http://www.chicagoblackhawks.com/news/news.asp?story_id=3198
  12. I'm okay with She Wants Revenge. I like the two songs I've heard so far. Derivitive as they may be, I'm enjoying stuff like the Killers, Interpol, the Bravery and SWR. If new bands are going to rip someone off, I'm glad it's the 80s alternative era.
  13. I may get my Sox N Roll card revoked for saying this, but I thought you guys sounded great. Smoother than I think you believed it was, and fun to listen to. Keep it up!!!
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) "They had been do it." Yeah, they had been do it. But now no not being do it more. Why understanding isn't be with you for this?
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) iCouldn't live without mine... although i must admit i don't understand the people that have only like 150 songs on theres... LOL. That's my wife!! She says she doesn't want to load it up with songs she just "kind of likes". She wants to LOVE every song on her iPod. I just don't like dealing with hers, so I doubt I'll ever get one for myself.
  16. Dude, you didn't leave any room for the inevitable Cubbie World Title! It's their turn, y'know....
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) That's what you get for listening to the radio I rarely do, but when I'm working on Sunday nights I do listen to Q101. And remember, iDon't have an iPod because iHate them.
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) Matisyahu = Gimmick. Seriously, every time I hear that King Without A Crown I have to turn the radio off. Cannot stand it. Brutal.
  19. Anything by Thin Lizzy, Slim Pickens or 2 Skinnee J's.
  20. Just FYI. I never get sick of seeing it.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) I finally heard these guys and I totally agree with your assesment. Decent start for 19 year olds, but time will tell. I enjoy Bloc Party SO much more. They'll be on SNL next Saturday if anyone cares to hear the band with like the third best (I think) selling debut record in the history of the UK. They're also going to be at Metro very soon. March 18th, in fact. Tickets were 11 bucks, the show is sold out.
  22. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) What's with all the 'stache hate? Hmmm....somebody have a 'stache, perhaps???
  23. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) I have family visiting me the week of July 3rd and we're trying to decide which game to attend. Just checking for tix online, it looks like the lower level is already sold out for that entire week. We were thinking of the July 4th game, but noticed it's Kid's Day (kids get in for $1 at the gate). My question is, for those that have gone to previous kid's days, is it packed w/ kids, and does that take away from the great atmosphere you'd see in other sold out games?? Would July 3rd be better, half-price night? Thanks.. I guess it depends on what kind of atmosphere you're looking for. The kids bring their own brand of excitement to the park, but it's aimed more at the on-screen games and quizzes, the Pride Crew and any fireworks (intro, homers, etc.) Friday nights seem to be the most "adult" of the game nights, as I recall.
  24. QUOTE(vegasking @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) Thanks guys you have all been alot of help see you in July, by the way the taste of Chicago, is it good, and are the bands all free of charge to watch. Iguess Chicago is rammed full at this time particularly with July 4th as well Taste is OK for a touristy thing. You get small portions for not-small money. It's a decent way to get a "taste" of a bunch of different Chicago restaurants. The bands are free, and there's a decent variety of musical styles. Not much aggressive music, though, for obvious reasons.....(indigestion ).... And yes, you will see ( and smell )a HUGE cross-section of Chicago people at the Taste. Have Fun!!!!
