  1. I'm hopeful that these new songs will be good, but Westerberg has faded so far (in my humble opinion, anyway) from the sloppy drunken wonderfulness of the 'Mats that I'd be surprised if they were strong songs. Now, if they would TOUR......my concert hiatus is OVER.
  2. Dogs. Win or Die Trying?
  3. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) This reminds me of a comedian I once heard... I can't stand my friends who smoke...I meet them for dinner and first thing they do is light up So how was your day?? Well ya know I have a habit of spitting, so I'm like Pretty good how about yours??? Bill Hicks!!!! oh s***, maybe it was Dom Irrera..... either way

I'M OUT. Talk Smack on my board if you want. Do whatever!" "Who has the longest. drought. NOW......Grasshoppah!!!"
  5. "Enjoy him while you can; his volatile reign will last only so long." Now THAT's going out on a limb!! A manager will someday be fired if the team's not doing well?????? WOW!!! INSIGHT!!!!
  6. He'll never be off the stupid pills, he's just taking the easy cheap shot like he always does. If the Sox are 7-6 in their first 13 games he'll be predicting doom for them, because it'll be the easy thing to do. It's an easier read when he ambushes the Cubs , but it's not indicative of increasing IQ. It's his standard operating procedure.
  7. The Sox have always been absolutely great with the charity work. Makes ya proud to be a fan.
  8. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:41 AM) So, in all actuality, it really does come down to stopping a simple annoyance, much like declaring that farting in the park is not allowed except on ramps 2,5,6,7. Dude, don't make me HAVE to take ramps 2,5,6,and 7. And as everyone knows, farting on the way down the ramps helps acceleration. Also, farting on the way UP the ramps improves traction - it's much like 4-wheel drive in that regard.
  9. http://www.suntimes.com/output/roeper/cst-nws-roep30.html Nothing shocking in this article, but interesting none the less.
  10. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) That was my favorite one as well. Now if I can get the Food Channel to put Iron Chef back on at 10PM...lol No. Alton Brown >>>> Iron Chef.
  11. I'm conflicted. I am a non-smoker, so on that level I like this. However, my first real memory of going to old Comiskey Park was the smell of cigar smoke from the older guys I'd be walking behind. So second-hand cigar smoke reminds me of baseball. I feel bad for smokers these days - they're made to feel like some kind of lepers, yet they're taxed ass over appetite by lazy politicians who'd rather slap another tax on cigarettes than try to figure out how they're wasting all the money in their current budgets. It's not fair to them.
  12. QUOTE(joeynach @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 04:20 PM) Does anyone know the status of the new Scout Seat restaurant and lounge that was supposed to be built. Obviously it wasn't completed for last year cuz they used that stupid tent outside in front of home plate that looks like the same one my mom rented for my high school graduation party. I thought it was supposed to be in place by now?? Man that tent is hideous and looks really out of place right in front of the park. That's where they're storing all the green seats and caulk.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) By the way, if we don't win it this inning...I sure wouldn't complain if we went to 10, just to give Thornton a 2nd inning & see how he does. He was formerly a starter. How much will Dusty Baylor whine since the Sox are going extras with the Brewers? "duuuuuuuude, they say they don't have enough pitchers, and now they DO all of the sudden???"
  14. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) It'd be perfect, except I'm not really a big fan of either of those bands. Yeah, I kinda knew you sucked.....
  15. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) The Magic Numbers Sat. April 1st 10 pm @ Double Door $15.00 Would you pull the trigger?? Nah, if I were to pull the trigger on a show that night, it would be right around the corner at the same time, 10pm. Beatallica at Subterranean. The world's GREATEST (....and only....) cross-tribute for The Beatles and Metallica!!! PLUS, it's 33% cheaper!!! 10 bucks at the door!!!
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) Jermaine Dye had a good 2 months last year where he was absolutely terrible, and ozzie didn't Pull him. Iguchi has even more time than that. Guaranteed. If he's below the Mendoza line at the AS Break, we'll talk. Well, the All-Star break WOULD be "mid-season"....
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 09:19 AM) And that's about as close as i am going to get to see it First opener since 1995, I am going to miss. It'll be there all year, Mike.
  18. So who's going to be the first to join "Logan's Heroes" or "Boone's Farmers"? Congrats to Logan on getting there - now the job is STAYING there, which is even harder to do.
  19. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) How do you think I ended up in New Jersey? I was raised by the BP Gas Pumper. f***in' liberal gas station employees.....
  20. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Anyone else notice that the Sox are using a DH while the Cubs are not? Yeah, the AL team can ask the NL team if it's OK when the NL team is home. The NL team, if they agree, can choose to also use the DH or stay with the pitcher batting.
  21. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Mar 27, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) I got left at a gas station when I was 4. My parents said it was an accident. The first 4 or 5 times, it probably was.
  22. Bandwagon fans = getting more tickets in advance (did that), getting to the park earlier (always get there plenty early anyway), ignoring stupid chatter (difficult but possible), longer lines at concession stands (going to be a pain, but not too much of one) and hanging around post-game for the parking lot to clear or the train station to thin out a little (new concept for me but I think I can get used to it). The most difficult thing is going to be the bathroom situation, I think. Not much advance planning you can do to manage that.
