  1. ...and he was old and he thought he was a hockey player and not "an enforcer"...
  2. Better late than never, I guess, but their s*** songs unfortunately will live on as long as there are "classic rock" stations stupid enough to play them. And much like Phish, this probably means two new awful Creed-like bands, pumping out more Creedly swill for the people who enjoy that Creedish crap.
  3. Unfortunately for Cola Bob, the nickname "The Bad One" referred to his playing ability the last 3 or so years of his career. Jackass...
  4. But HEY....today is GOOD FRIDAY!! The return of the MESSIAHHH named PRIAHHHH!!!!
  5. http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/...rest/index.html Apparently, not even Mr. Lohan's relatives are safe from him...at a FIRST COMMUNION PARTY!!!! Just IMAGINE what he'd do to YOOOOUUUUU!!!!!!! Mr. Lohan and YOU
  6. I have to say, I've been trying to watch this series and get into it ( since it's most likely the last NHL hockey we'll see for a while ), but I really couldn't care less who wins. I don't know what it is, but this series is lacking something. I was flipping over to the BRAVES game, of all things, last night. It just isn't grabbing my interest at all. Odd.....
  7. The Sox thought Clemens was through YEARS ago, I believe when he ended up going to Toronto(?). Wasn't that when they had to choose between Clemens and Jaime Navarro? Sorry if my memory is fuzzy, but I could swear that the Sox decided to pass on Clemens because the end was near....
  8. The ONLY complaint I'll post about Koch's performance yesterday was that I didn't see any evidence of that nasty curve he was throwing the last time out. That hook could have changed the hitters' expectations about what he might throw. Even with their hitters expecting dead red, he did saw off a couple bats and the bloops fell. It's baseball, that s*** happens sometimes. Oh, and Shingo looked fantastic again - does that mean he could necessarily do that with the game in the balance? I dunno....but I AM curious...... Oh, one more thing - bases loaded in the 8th AND 9th and ZERO runs - that had a little something to do with the outcome of the game as well - just sayin'....if it's a 2 or 3-run lead, then it takes more than a couple bloops to tie it....team game and all that....
  9. One home game of the WS notwithstanding, the game itself is still an exhibition game. I was at the game "that counts" last year, and despite the bleating to the contrary, many guys were still half-assing it. You're gonna tell me that some yahoo from the Brewers or Devil Rays gives half a s*** who gets home field advantage in the World Series? If the game meant anything, they'd take the voting out of the fans' hands, since the fans are generally homers or fools when it comes to voting anyway.
  10. You, sir, are a wise, WISE man!
  11. Yeah, Kerry Wood doesn't know from heat, growing up in FRIGID Texas and all..... Dusty Baylor.....sheesh......
  12. Only 2 or 3 more injuries and.... "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE STARTING THIRD BASEMAN FOR THE AMERICAN LEAGUE ALL-STARS...... JOE CREDE!!!!!!!"
  13. It's an exhibition game for the fans, so I don't really care who the fans vote in. I pay much more attention to the managers' selections, and try to figure out where they buckled to political pressure or the pursuit of their own team's happiness. I had fun at last year's game and festivities, but if I'm not there in person, I barely even watch it anymore. It was interesting to see Gagne blow a save last year - that just doesn't happen in REAL games!
  14. I'd be stunned if the Expos were permanently relocated to PR. Las Vegas is a decent choice, I think, but I'd wager that MLB doesn't want any team that close to gambling, no matter what restrictions they'd try to negotiate with the gaming community. Best easy joke so far: MLB moves the Expos to Vegas and reinstates Pete Rose to be their manager.
  15. I think the Sox need to decide what they want to do with him going forward, and follow through accordingly. If he's projected as a starter, then yeah, maybe a stint in Charlotte to get his innings in and work on some other pitches is probably the best idea. If he's going to be a situational lefty, then I don't see any reason to demote him, since he's been doing a pretty solid job in that role so far.
  16. ...and add Airedale to my list of knee-jerk over-reacters. Freaking out over every single loss in a 162-game season is not "talking baseball", it's babbling incoherently.
  17. Can we PLEASE stop stomping on the Sox players after every loss? It gets really old really fast. It's to the point where I don't even want to come on here after a loss, because somebody is BOUND to have started a Blame Thread or 2 - or 3 - or more. Losses happen..........to EVERY team.........lighten up.
  18. You could also do a good John Kerry/Gomer Pyle side-by-side, I would think.
  19. The Olsons look like frogs, and the one is starving herself. Don't know why there's such fascination about them, really.

    Miss Universe

    They're doable...... ...no offense....
  21. Hey, why not give Adkins a chance? If nothing else, it'd give the columnists an easy stupid joke: "Adkins fed hitters a steady DIET of hittable pitches, and they FEASTED on the ADKINS DIET." Just watch - they'll ALL do it in some form.....
  22. I think they'll do okay this year. Like Oz said in Spring Training, "Ay don' care whatchoo deed een dee pass, thees jeer eez thees jeer". Like noted above, the A's series looks promising with E-Lo and MB throwing, and the M's are having a bit of a down year, so I feel good about that series too. Breaking the West Coast Hex would be a good confidence builder, to add to all the other confidence builders so far this year ( playing well against the Spanks, taking 3 of 4 in Minny, etc ).
  23. My company also gave us Friday off as a paid holiday. They're doing the same for the 4th of July. Four Day Weekends =

    Yay, more rain

My power was out for about 2 hours last night. It showed me again how f***ing BORING the lives of the pioneers must have been. [Hawk Impression] "I luv power...." [/Hawk Impression]
  25. Very nice poem. I echo the sentiments, please take time today to remember those who gave their lives to protect our freedom.
