QUOTE (SI1020 @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 08:34 AM) Since I'm so old I think some of these posts should be deleted. Call the censors. Yeah, seriously....kids these days.....

QUOTE (T R U @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 02:30 AM) I would have never guessed you were 46, that's crazy If you saw me try to run, you'd have guessed it EASILY, LOL. Yeah, I act like a stupid little kid most of the time, but I am in fact an old fart.

Second-oldest to admit it. 46 But the immaturity, the metal music and the 9-year-old daughter keep me young.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) Iggy Pop Well, technically he wasn't a Stooge, it was Iggy AND The Stooges.

Great time at the ballpark today. Free tickets, took my little girl, enjoyed the Navy Seals parachuting into the park, saw my sister at the game, and a surprise win over Greinke. Very nice day indeed!

Taz has replaced Don West as the color voice on Impact, and West has been "promoted" to the marketing department. One down, one to go - get someone good to replace Tenay and they'll be set. -

Favre Signing with Vikings today
The Critic replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm all for it! I love teary-eyed retirement interviews, and this guarantees that Favre will deliver his 6th....or 7th....or is it 8th???......teary-eyed "Ah just cayn't do it no mo" on-field post-game interview after the last game of the season. Or maybe halfway through the season. Or maybe after Opening Day. Nah, probably after the second time he plays the Packers, since that seems to be the motivation for his 8th return from retirement...or is it 9th?....10th?? -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 07:55 AM) I got clocked in the sac with a slap shot, and I was wearing a cup and it still hurt like hell. I can't imagine not having been wearing a cup. I played goal in a mens' floor hockey for a couple years and never wore a cup. I felt like it hurt my flexibility - of course, a slapper to the junk would have seriously hurt my flexibility, too. It was a very stupid decision, but luckily it never came back to haunt me.

Interesting twists to the Angle HGH story: http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/article/ex...-revealed-83017 Earlier today, it was reported that Kurt Angle was arrested for violating a restraining order against an unnamed female TNA star. WrestleZone.com can now exclusively confirm that the star is Trenesha Biggers, better known to TNA Wrestling fans as Rhaka Khan. Biggers, who made it to the final 25 of the 2005 WWE Diva Search, had moved in with Angle followed his break-up with ex-wife Karen Angle. Things didn't work out and Biggers moved out of Angle's house, filing an order of protection against the former Olympic gold medalist. As we mentioned in our previous article, Biggers spotted Angle's car outside a Starbucks coffee shop earlier today and alerted the authorities. This lead to the arrest of Angle, as he was charged with violating an order of protection, driving with a suspended license and possession of illegal HGH. While it isn't officially confirmed as of this writing, WrestleZone.com can also exclusively report that Angle did in fact have a valid prescription for the HGH, as was speculated previously. Despite all the madness, Angle will still be working tomorrow night's TNA "Hard Justice" pay-per view in Orlando, Florida. Angle will compete in the main event of the show, defending his TNA World championship in a triple-threat match against Sting and Matt Morgan. Stay tuned to WrestleZone.com this weekend as we will be updating this story as more information becomes available. -
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) I only went back through the last two pages, and didn't see anything, so I'm still not sure if it was mentioned or not. Has anyone heard this new supergroup Them Crooked Vultures? Josh Homme from Oueens of the Stone age is on vocals, with Dave Grohl on drums and John Paul Jones on bass. Certainly sounds interesting. Jim DeRogatis loves them, so that worries me. He never seems to like very much stuff that I do.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 10:48 AM) Here is one blurb, William admitted to being a Cubs fan and they spent the day at Wrigley. http://chicagoist.com/2008/07/29/cubs_fans..._up_sox_fan.php The Cubs were in New York the day the Ligoons attacked Gamboa. The Cubs were in Chicago the day Dumbass hugged Laz Diaz's leg. I'm not saying they aren't Cubs fans, but there was no crosstown double-header the day Gamboa got jumped.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 10:38 AM) I thought that was the Eric Dybas guy It was. I don't think I've ever seen anything saying the Ligoons were Cubs fans.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 08:50 AM) It depends upon whether you measure the "all-time douche" title by frequency or severity. I also remember batteries thrown in Philly at JD Drew, coins at Albert Belle in Cleveland, etc. There's no question that hard objects like that can be more dangerous when thrown with intent to injure, and that the few, individual jagoffs who did that in those cities are up at the very top of the douche-o-meter. But those events stand out in memory because they are in fact rare, isolated incidents (thank goodness). However, totally different sets of Cub fans are throwing objects on the field ALL THE TIME. Granted, the home run balls (every other home game) are not thrown maliciously, and the garbage (2 or 3 times a season) is usually not thrown at any body, but compared to the rest of the league, it sure seems like stuff gets thrown onto the field there more than any place else. The fact that some thrown objects are accepted and condoned as "tradition" cannot be mere coincidence. When you put yesterday's beer toss and the Randy Meyers, Chad Kreuter, and Bobby Howry attacks in a total context along with thrown home run balls, O-Henry bars, and random assorted garbage, I think a strong case can be made that the Wrigley spectators (I won't even say Cub fans) are the "douchiest" in all of sport. I, of course, am a just a jealous, White trash Sox fan who lives in the past. Just like Cincinnati's Marty Brennaman. That's actually a good point - I guess fans like Philly and Pittsburgh would be "All-Time Intent To Injure Douches" while Cubs fans would qualify for "Lifetime Douche-chievement Awards". And if you wanted to give a different take on it, Cubs fans throwing garbage on the field could be seen as an appropriately symbolic gesture of disappointment. As if to say, "look, there are nine pieces of garbage on the field already, what's a few more?" In that context, it's not so much littering as it is performance art. And quite deep, actually.....for a bunch o' drunks, anyway....

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 07:25 AM) Never feel bad for PETA people. I normally wouldn't, but if they try to protest outside an Eagles game, I feel like the treatment they"ll get from those psychos would make Vick's fighting dogs say "Whoa, that's a little harsh".
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 07:10 AM) Didnt Philly fans do that to JD Drew too? Probably. Philly fans are dicks. I feel bad for PETA people AND Michael Vick.

QUOTE (G&T @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 07:04 AM) Yeah this is what I guess I was trying to say in my previous posts. We don't have enough facts to know what happened. And I'll wager that the settlement agreement with the driver will require that he does not testify. Can that happen if Buffalo authorities independently decide to file charges?

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) I'd forgotten about this, but I think Marty's comments say a lot. When it comes to s*** like that, Cub fans are in a (low) class by themselves. I'm an old-school, biased, Cub-Hating, White Sox fan. I admit it. But Brennaman is a HOF'er. He has seen lots of baseball in lots of park over lots of years. He took a lot of flack for his comments here, but to his credit, he called it as he saw it and never backed down. I'm not as old as Marty, but I've watched a lot of sports. For a long time, places like Oakland, Philadelphia, and Cleveland were thought of as hostile, sometimes even dangerous places to play because of their fans' conduct. Over the last 10 years, however, the total s*** that's gone down at Wrigley has surpassed whatever happened to earn those places their reputations (combined). There are bad apples everywhere, and no stadium or team is immune. But they trash their field at least a couple times per season now. To the best of my knowledge, nobody else does that. I think the worst thing I can remember seeing is Pittsburgh fans throwing alkaline batteries at Dave Parker (who was a Pirate at the time) because he wasn't playing well enough in their opinion. No one has thrown batteries at Soriano yet, so Pittsburgh still holds the all-time douche title. White Sox fans threw a bunch of coins at Reggie Jackson once - he picked them up and thanked the fans for the tip, IIRC.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) Missy Hyatt released new bikini photos. Disgusting. I used to love her when I was a kid, but she is so nasty now. She's got a great past ahead of her. -

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) This year being awful for new music has allowed me to branch out into the past. Even though I think I've just listened to Stop Making Sense like 6000 times. Yeah, I've been on a big classic rock binge myself. I think I'm just riddled with nostalgia lately - I re-connected with a bunch of old softball buddies through Facebook, so I've been re-living the past quite a bit these days. Part of getting old and falling apart, I suppose.
