  1. Grace making fun of Jim. Hey, Moth, you were NO faster than Thome is.
  2. Wow, Jim's really slow. Like PK slow. They didn't do him a favor isolating him running to 2nd.
  3. GoodFellas Eight Men Out Caddyshack Slap Shot Major League Happy Gilmore
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 17, 2009 -> 12:09 PM) I DVR "Impact" and usually just FWD thru it...except for anything with The Beautiful People. I have always liked Homicide as a wrestler and think he will be good in singles, but what a rip off with him cashing in a briefcase to win the X Division Title. TNA: Making fun and putting down the E, than copying everything they do. Well, to be fair, there's not an awful lot you can do with the briefcase gimmick. I've actually been enjoying Impact lately - Foley seems to be finding himself, Raven's cameo was enjoyable, Angle's been great (and I'm glad he's grown out the Ring Of Hair, he looked strange bald, kinda like a turtle), the Machineguns have been interesting, I enjoyed the 3D/Beer Money feud, and of course, Velvet Sky is well worth tuning in for, obviously.

  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 09:07 AM) I have to say it is very odd to let him do all of the negotiating with FA's like Hossa Kopecky and Madden, only to fire him a week or so later. How many baseball GMs would be fired after signing 3 major free agents like that, even WITH his colossal RFA paperwork screwup. Jerry Angelo basically did the same thing with Warrick Holdman and D'Wayne Bates and he didnt get fired for it. Im not saying that he didnt need to be fired, I just dont understand why they would let him carry on with his job through free agency and then give him the ax I wonder how much he had to do with those signings? Remember how everyone said "Dale finally figured out how to work the cap" when the Hossa deal was announced? Maybe he didn't = maybe Stan/Scotty Bowman did.
  7. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 06:26 AM) So this badass boxer gets strangled by a 23 year old woman? He had to be drugged or hit in the head with something very hard, or else this wouldn't make any sense. Im not a boxer, but no woman is killing me with her bare hands. The theory is that she struck him in the head, then strangled him with her purse strap. My guess is she probably attacked him while he was asleep, that seems to be how cases like these go.
  8. That guy was in some absolute wars in the ring. Foul play is suspected - he was only 37 years old. RIP Thunder Gatti.
  9. I think Hellmuth is entertaining, but he's also really smug and condescending so I enjoy watching him lose. I hate how he won't let another player enjoy winning a hand because he has to pout about how the other guy played wrong but still won. I know it's partly how the shows are edited, but it's also partly him being an asshole.
  10. I can't wait for the Moral World Series! Moral vicotry = loss.
  11. GIT UP! STRETCH! GIT AWN BACK THAR!!! EPP...UPP...ERP....CAUGHT!!!
  12. It looks like a tornado hit a trailer park full of pawn shops and blew all the junk into one big pile.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) Am I the only one that really really wanted to make a joke about how I wished it was me hitting her with a ball etc.? Am I the only one that really wanted to ask if anyone thinks this is the first time she's been struck by a ball?
  14. I think it's Tex's way of disassociating himself from the White Sox. Traitor.
  15. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 09:24 AM) Its a lot easier to say: "Man up and get a divorce" When youre not worth millions. I dont know his life or what he was going through, he seemed like a good guy, Im not about to get morally righteous on him. As always, I turn to Chris Rock [paraphrasing because my feeble mind can't recall exact quotes]: "If you give up half of 30 million.....you're gonna be all right. If you give up half of 30 THOUSAND.....you might just have to kill somebody!!! I ain't movin' back in with my Momma cuz YOU AIN'T IN LOVE!!!!" Exaggerated for the sake of laughs, of course, but my point is, it's probably easier to absorb a divorce when you have money to spare. However, I'm not going to assume he told this girl he was leaving his wife. It could have been something she dreamed up in her obviously unstable mind.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 05:23 AM) Which sounds better to you, a mentally and emotionally disturbed child with no extra money to pay for treatment to help said child figure out his life while Michael Jackson sits in jail, or a mentally and emotionally disturbed child with $15 million to help in the psychological treatment of said child which would leave enough left over for even the most unselfless of people's early retirement while Jackson walks free on the street? Jackson was an incredible musical talent, but I would be very surprised if people wouldn't take $15 mill over him staying in jail. He made fantastic music, he was a very messed up man, people should mourn his loss just as much as they mourn anybody else's (if you are to take the good with the bad, I'd say Jackson comes out ahead but not by this much), and then move on. He's gone. RIP. I'd want him dead. I'd settle for jail. I'd take out loans, hit a credit card, whatever it took to pay for my kid's treatment, but I'd want justice. I honestly wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror if I sold my kid out like that. Knowing how the money got there would sicken me. Of course, I have a daughter, so I don't think I'd have had to make that decision.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Kid, I don't think I've ever heard of a single person whose name you mentioned on this site. OT: If you like punk music you need to check out the Dead Boys (Stiv Bators' band). Under-appreciated band from the late 70's. Really good stuff.
  18. Paul was a 3-run homer shy of the cycle. Not a bad game at all.
  19. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) after watching last night, i think Million Dollar Man is the perfect manager for Legacy. I agree. He's always over, and he's good on the mic.
  20. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) They need to start using factions more Those were the good days, now it seems there is never a good strong one anymore ...but....but....what about the Main Event Mafia???? I agree, they should go back to stables. For me, they help in two ways: 1. Stables can utilize guys who either aren't good enough on the mic, or who haven't developed a strong enough character to get over on their own. and 2. Stables often used to be led by a manager or advisor, who was almost always an entertaining character who was good at talking. Heenan, Cornette, Dangerously/Heyman....none of them were able to establish themselves as an in-ring performer (although Heenan was under-rated, but too small), yet those are three of the most memorable characters of their time.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) wasnt the Flock pulling the same stuff that DX was, almost show for show? Not really. The nWo and/or Wolfpac were the ones kind of jousting with DX and Vince on-air. The fighting in the Flock was usually internal - Raven demeaning the members of the Flock, turning members against each other, and members occasionally trying to assert themselves or leave the group. It was a pretty interesting stable/angle, but I think Raven was a little unreliable in those days - he may have been "living the gimmick" or whatever, but he seemed pretty disgruntled and sometimes disinterested.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:05 AM) For all the talk about the grievances, Versteeg is the only one left that can still take advantage of it, all the other guys signed. Does anybody know if they have Hossa jerseys/shirts for sale anywhere in Chicago yet? I've looked online and it seems like they dont have them yet. Well, if the arbiter ruled against the Hawks, I'm sure the guys who signed could opt to negate their contracts and test the market. I don't think they would, though - players seem to like what's going on here.
  23. DeWitt always struck me as a bit nutty, but the queen of the 70's TV nutcases is now, and forever will be, Erin Moran from Happy Days.
  24. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) Jim Henson hit me pretty hard. The Muppets were such a huge and important part of my upbringing. And sorry Tex, PSFJ and Critic, I shed a tear. I never met Jim Henson but he was in my house everyday for many years teaching me and making me laugh. And still does to this day. I was only speaking for myself. People feel what they feel, and it's all valid. I just don't make that connection with people I don't know personally - that certainly doesn't make me right.
  25. I can't imagine getting that depressed over a celebrity death. I don't know any celebrities personally, so my feeling is never more than a general sadness for their families.
