  1. Since 2019, Kelly has pitched 11.1 innings in the post-season and given up 10 runs. edit: I will say, compared to the Josh Harrison move this is like signing Babe Ruth.
  2. The Sox have spent at least 20 million, technically 36 million, per year on their bullpen acquisitions this off-season. As of now, that'll likely be more than 70% of their total yearly amount allocated this off-season, if they move Kimbrel we're probably talking about 50-60% of their total resource allocation. You just can't tell me that 2 of the past three off-seasons, spending more than 50-60% of your total resources on relievers is a good strategy.
  3. Nah, I haven't said that. I can give a list of guys when I get home. That said, my strategy would never to be to buy old guys coming off career years.
  4. In 310 abs to start his carrer Madrigal was worth as much value as Harrison was in his best year since 2017 in over 500 abs.
  5. If it were a disorder I'd be mad at my mom for not giving it to me.
  6. Same thing I said about the cesar acquisition but even worse honestly. He's not a guaranteed upgrade over leury. I'd actually argue he's a downgrade. Cesar at least possibly was an upgrade.
  7. I'll say if the sox pull off a trade for Mahle I'll forgive everything Hahn has done. I'm a huge mahle guy. Guy could be a stud stud.
  8. Signing relievers coming off career years is a bad strategy and allocation of resources.
  9. Bingo. Harrison was worth less last year and hadn't been worth more than .3 fWAR since 2017 before last year. This teams makes no sense.
  10. Yes, the starting rotation in 2021 was lights out good. The bullpen blew the 3rd most games in MLB.
  11. Now a 35 year old second baseman who is literally not an upgrade over Leury Garcia. Gotta go to dinner. This front office just sucks. Even with a RF, they basically did not upgrade 2nd base at all.
  12. He's talking about guys like Cliff Politte and Cotts being unhittable.
  13. How many years in a row are Sox fans going to fall for this nonsense. Each of the last two years we had threads created about how unstoppable the White Sox bullpen was going to be. The best bullpen in baseball will not end up being who you thought it'll be. Signing RP's coming off career years is almost never a good strategy.
  14. This isn't how organizations build good bullpens. Jose Ruiz is younger and has been as good as Joe Kelly the past two years because bullpen arms are pretty up and down.
  15. Hahn: What's the most volatile and unreliable position in baseball? Relief Pitchers Hahn: Let's go all in on signing aging relievers. what could go wrong? Joe Kelly is the epitome of an up and down volatile guy too.
  16. Just... exhausting. Hahn won't stop spending his assets on Relief pitchers. it's honestly amazing.
  17. Sox really cornering the reliever market. This honestly feels like a sick joke. Hahn just won't stop spending his assets on RP's.
  18. i'd be surprised but maybe. usually they get guys they feel are less than 12 months away and get ready for another push.
  19. This makes no sense anyway; Oakland is never looking for a 3-4 year rebuild. Just not how they operate. They look to retool.
  20. Everyone was so nice today i figured id stir the pot a bit. This is certainly a hot take.
  21. Yeah... when hahn calls an agent about a player now they'll be like..., wohhhhhhh, I didn't see this coming. I thought Rick was out and happy with his team, I better lower the price for him because he's not interested.
