  1. Huh? Toews was out because of chronic immune response syndrome.
  2. I mean, Freddie has an 871 ops after starting incredibly slow. wRC+ is 132 and it was 138 two years ago. Not only that but freddie a 187 wrc last year while having covid.
  3. Cash literally said on the presser that he wanted to do it and even called to ask Manfred to change the rule to treat him as two separate players for the sake of the game. This isn't some vast conspiracy.
  4. I know, that's why I noted I was responding to another poster and not you. I'd already argue Ohtani didn't earn the All-Star collection as a pitcher in the first place. I get your point of bringing eyes to the event but I just have my doubts.
  5. This was Cash, not Manfred. Have to wonder if Cash would have done this if Glasnow was healthy.
  6. “I mean, half the innings as anybody else, to start the game is probably not the best [choice] among the players,” Lynn told the Sun-Times. “There are quite a few people who’ve had better first halves, for sure.” Lynn absolutely cares; he cared enough to say something about it before it was named. “I’ll put my name in the hat, for sure,” Lynn said. These guys want to earn the accolade. I hate giving it to Ohtani just because it's a good journalistic story. Journalists are fawning over it. The guy arguably didn't even earn a spot on the team as a pitcher int he first place.
  7. Hard disagree here from me. and the players, the Sox players, absolutely do care (responding to the person who said they don't care). “I mean, half the innings as anybody else, to start the game is probably not the best [choice] among the players,” Lynn told the Sun-Times. “There are quite a few people who’ve had better first halves, for sure.”
  8. That's fine, and again I don't hate the picks, but high school players are riskier and getting draft picks to the big leagues to be productive is really the name of the game. I know we all want the next superstar, but getting average to above average big leaguers year after year is how you maintain success. Just like in everything sports related, the "unknown" always feels more exciting - which is what high schoolers are - but there's nothing wrong with getting big leaguers in the draft who might have "limited" ceilings which has proven to be a bunch of BS time and time again.
  9. I've got to say, while I like getting a couple high school short stops the White Sox have been successful drafting for quite some time so all the fans pandering for them to change the way they pick is really confusing.
  10. I stand corrected then; saw them post it the other day.
  11. Yeah, he really looks out of shape..
  12. Cali, I'm just messing with you but you can stop pretending you wanted Vaughn to be the everyday left fielder. You've written more words than Hemingway about how Vaughn wasn't the right guy for this team.
  13. It only seemed possible to people who haven't been willing to accept that Vaughn was their left fielder and he was not going down to work on things. He was going to work on things at the big league level.
  14. I'll say this, sure is good news that the Sox kept giving Vaughn his ab's vs righties so he could right the ship. Could be a monster second half from vaughny
  15. You've demoted him or replaced him in the lineup 12 times already this year.
  16. Couldn't pay me to take a high school righty who throws 100. I wouldn't touch high schoolers throwing that hard. Growing into velocity is what succeeds more times than not. Early velocity often times doesn't hold or maintain, or leads to injury.
  17. I know nothing about the kid, but I like northern high school kids because they oftentimes can be overlooked tbe most. Sesms like a great athlete and I loved his swing.
  18. I love people being critical of baseball draft picks.
  19. It's the baseball draft. Top available if you like a guy is completely meaningless imo.
  20. Nothing more undervalued in drafts than Northern high school kids! Less reps means more to work with and grow from.
  21. They're pretty damn far apart. You start off in a 17.5 run hole as a dh vs a 7.5 run role as a LF'er. A -9 run LF earns more positional value than a DH
  22. Even if your idea is to have Eloy DH most of the time, he's still going to have to play the field on occasion. Not going to win a World Series with Eloy on the bench because he can't pick up a glove anymore.
