White Sox promoting Wikelman González
Can either of you help me understand the great work the Biomechanics group is doing? I'm surprised to hear that limiting injury isnt one of the goals of the biomechanics department/team. I agree its not the only function, but id expext it to be a component. A lot of people doing great work in the organization, it sounds like.

White Sox promoting Wikelman González
Ironically enough, the last team to get arm maintence right was the White Sox and they were mocked ruthlessly for it. Reserve max effort for big situations, tone done velo, develop and rely on change/slower slider. Very few peoples arms are built to throw 96-99 MPH all the time. Its not the off speed. Its not the pitch count. It's not the innings pitched. Its not arm angle or extension. Its max effort velocity. Its people building velocity that their arms wouldn't normally produce. It has a cascading effect too because then guys who throw 91 feel they have to throw 94 and they're over throwing too. You should grow into velocity - meaning throwing 93-94 tops in youth/high school ball and as your body grows and develops you build and add with it. I wouldn't draft a single kid who threw 98+ in high school. The Dodgers dont believe they can fix this so they have stocked up on arms to play the numbers.

Clint Frazier on the 2023 White Sox being his most favorite team
Harold gives me a first hand glance into the incompetence of the white sox with his takes and opinions and im grateful for that. No one hates quants in baseball more than Harold.

Clint Frazier on the 2023 White Sox being his most favorite team
Rick knew how to get respect from players, even if he was a mental wreck in the playoffs. Harold blaming Hahn when he damn well knows the day to day accountability is driven by coaching and the Sox hiring LaRussa to sleep in the dugout removed any accountability from the players.

Lynn is friends of their show, which is why they brought him up. He has also been vocal about the White Sox charade with AJ.

"Yeah, it's dumb but does it really matter." White Sox should consider this for their marketing slogan... maybe even put it in the tunnel leading to the dugout so every player can slap it as they come out.

Two often repeated statements/ arguments on this board that now seem silly:
Sox back to being on pace for 111 losses. Making them the 10th worst team in the modern era.

Devers
If you don't want to be lied to at work, and you want to be treated with respect and honesty, then you should want that for all workers. Even those who make more money than you. Your envy and jealousy doesn't mean he should deal with BS at work that you don't want to deal with In fact, while trickle down economics is pure BS, workers rights have trickled down throughout history. You have the mindset that if it's miserable for me then it should be for you too. Frank also wasn't told he would be the 1st baseman by the GM and the coach, only for the Sox to sign a first basemen in free agency. He also wasn't then told he'd ONLY have to move to DH and this would be his new position for good, only for them to ask him to switch again two months later. You do that to players fighting to stay in the big leagues, not to the anchors of your lineup.

Devers
Ben Zobrist was a utility guy who's value was tied to his versatility. Bryant wanted to play everywhere. It's not a gotcha question, it's an observation. Devers is fourth in baseball for the highest % of team runs scored in baseball. He's accounted for 87 of Boston's 355 runs scored (25%). That's called carrying an offense. Bregman is out for 2 months. Navarez and Duran have accounted for 117 runs between them. No one ever called him a cancer or anything negative before the Red Sox bashed him this year and put him in an impossible situation. Just last week you were talking about how you really only follow the White Sox. Now you're an expert on Devers clubhouse impact over the last 8 years. Fascinating stuff. He was such a cancer that they gave him 300+ million 18 months ago.

Elko a AAAA player who was going to apparently sell tickets with his call up? Hmmm....

Yes, being a DH is a position and its actually very challenging to do for career position players. There was nothing diva about it. The guys devers needs to trust with his career lied to his face repeatedly and then put him in a very uncomfortable media situation with zero warning. One of the "greatest" (to some) leaders in baseball history - at least cited as such - refused to move off Shortstop to allow the best shortstop in MLB to play there.

Devers
Campbell was a horrible defender in college. He is not a MLB caliber infielder - saw hes basically the worst defender in baseball. Red Sox ask their superstar 3rd baseman to move off a spot to "maximize the defensive abilities of the roster" and then stick a bad outfielder at second base and extend him. Westeddy can't name a single star in MLB history who moved off their position twice in a season but yet somehow calls to question devers leadership because he wasnt happy about it. All the while, unhappy devers was carrying the entire red sox offense. Sometimes I wonder if Eddy is watching baseball in hopes of catching a glimpse of the GM in the owners box.

Devers
Helping out? Name another best player/star player in MLB history who switched positions twice in a season because the team demanded he do so. Lying shouldn't be rewarded.

Devers
His BS? What BS? Devers had been nothing but a good player and teammate his entire tenure in Boston. 18 months ago he signed a 10 year extension, since then he's just been as good as he was before signing. When he signed they assured him he'd stay at third base for a few more years. Then this off-season, they reiterate to him that he's their 3rd baseman - even though they were on the side trying to sign Bregman. Then he found out about the Bregman signing and positional move from the media, while being ask to answer questions about it! He's their franchise player lol. The Red Sox lied, gas lit and pointlessly disrespected their best player. All they had to do was be honest with him and it could have turned out very differently.

Sox trade Andrew Vaughn to acquire Aaron Civale
His last 180 IP haven't been great, but a lot of that is related to a change in pitch mix that hasn't worked and has been odd - hes moved away from his slider which was one of his best pitches and hes moved away from his curve which is his best pitch. He's become fastball heavy. The arm talent and strength is still there.

Your argument is short sighted. Eyeballs and viewers are what generate ad dollars. The more eyes, the more you can charge and it doesn't matter whether its OTA or a part of the cable package. There's a reason ESPN pays a fortune for the NBA finals and then broadcasts it OTA AND on cable. It increases exposure which will increase eyes in the future. Antennas aren't a great full time solution so that Sox fan with the antenna may by a Comcast package when they move out of range or when they get tired of cloudy days ruining their picture. As bmags said, sports are about exposure and by limiting exposure you limit growth which reduces eye balls and advertising dollars. Comcast should want MORE viewers in the Chicago area, not less, regardless of whether or not those viewers directly finance them or not.

I don't think it makes much sense, actually. You can watch NFL, NBA, and MLB games for free OTA all the time. The NBA Finals game last night was OTA as it always is and I used my antenna to watch it since i cancelled my live-TV packages. OTA increases your overall audience allowing you to sell more ad's and gain more of an audience and following. Comcast are just assholes.
