Funny to b**** about collins and then praise a guy with 97k's in 292 at bats as a catcher in a and a+.

I'm beginning to think that no matter how hard you throw or good your stuff is, madrigal is never gonna be overmatched in his baseball life.

He definitely loves the spot light and trying to make a name. I kind of like that. Of all games to steal home straight this is one.

Well he didnt start in the sox system so...

This home ump walks and acts like CB Bucknor which would explain why he sucks.

778 for a 26 year old DH is bad.

Lol that kid who just struck out has never in his life seen a 2 seamer at 95 move 5 inches over the inside corner. Shaking his head all the way to the bench.

Joe Borchard hit the ball hard. He just didn't hit it enough. When I say he cant hit I'm pointing moreso to his 219 career average and his 171 k's in 141 games.

Agree with you here. He has a really nice swing path. I think he can find some more loft. If he doesn't he's nothing - I agree there. A lot of youth coaches still selfishly teach a flat/downward swing path halfway through the zone because ground balls work well in youth and HS baseball - even college to some extent. Big leaguers dont fail to convert grounders into outs though. That teaching maximizes your lesser talent but hurts your top talents progress. I think rutherford is a minor change away from lifting more often but I could be 100% wrong.

Madrigal 2 and Robert 3 if you want an idea how baseball views those two.

Agreed. My thoughts are that Collins should spend the year working with McCann on calling a game, framing and how to study. Let him catch sometimes but have him DH a ton to get the MLB at bats and try and get his timing - he has always had a hitch in his swing which people worry about but it just means his timing means even more. Let mercedes catch on the non-McCann days and stop dh'ing McCann. Let the guy get his rest from being a legit primary - catching is really demanding, give him some rest and he should catch 75% of game ROY.

It helps guys more with less power than it does guys with more power. A guy like rutherford might get a grade bump with it. The juiced ball gives the 12 HR guy 20 but it doesn't bump the 30hr guy to 38. The ball might even be worse this year so we'll see at eoy if that changes.

That's not really a skill.

Uh collins is 3 years younger and catches and this is his first ever taste of the majors. Palka is the worst defensive player in MLB baseball and cant hit and has had like 600 mlb at bats. Weird that you cant seperate the two.

Rutherfked will really benefit from a juiced baseball.

Sheets a 950 OPS his last 90 ab's. In that park that's great.

Arent we about due for a guy coming out of nowhere and being an impact guy? Everyone gets em and it's been a while for us. Maybe he made an adjustment - all his numbers support his outcomes. He's old but not that old. Plenty of guys in the past two decades have figured it out at 25 and 26. Odds are he sucks but theres a chance he's a legit talent with the bat and catchability.

Adolfo and Basebe would still be 2-3 for me. Adolfo with a HUGE asterisk as I require his arm to still be a 70-80 grade arm because if he's 70 raw and 70/80 arm he has two elite tools. At one point his velocity from right field was second to no one. Injuries are a lot of "luck" as much as anything. He could never get hurt again for all we know.

Yeah, I'm not worried at all. In his lost year he needs to work on approach and strike zone command. He'll be fine next year and still will only be 23 so its not like he's old. Sucks it happened as it delays development a year but hopefully he learns some things this year.

Rutherford has been on an absolute tear for like 7 weeks now so I'd say he adjusted and I'd put him near the second spot - basebe had a lost year because of the injury but he'll be back and fine next year and I think he'll be solid. Edit: he has a .782 OPS in his last month and his OPS is about 825 vs righties in that stretch. In that ballpark that's pretty good. He had an .871 ops in June Basebe is even further proof, in addition to madrigal, that wrist and hand injuries destroy your power even after healing for up to 16 months. 1 HR this year.

Let's talk about White Sox promotions and baseball promotions
Especially with this team where AA is a much harder hitting environment than AAA.
