    Omen?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ May 16, 2006 -> 11:32 AM) Ah, makes sense now. I guess you have the cool ability to say you have been to some wild places though. I would like to see more stuff in the world, but fear and laziness keep me from it. great way to live
  2. I pretty much despise everything Cowley has written in the last year or so. He epitomizes the medias obsession with trash news reporting and writes every article with such a negative and twisted slant it makes me sick.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Can't speak for Jim but I think a lot of Soxtalkers are going to be at that series or so it seems. Is Cincy not a very far drive from Chicago? Not at all..about 4 1/2 hours. I was going to go until one of my friends decided to get married on June 17th up in Grand Rapids, MI.
  4. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Excuse me for going right off of the game thread but along with Lou Malnati's deep dish, we are planning on trying the ribs at Millers Pub ( next door to our hotel ). Wise choice? Miller's Pub has really good food. It's a place that has been in Chicago for years and years...Good choice especially because it is nice and conveniently located by your hotel.
  5. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Yep, is that the kind of stuff I can look forward to? Is that the kind of fine dining I've been reading about in all the travel guides? Dining in Chicago can be as fine or as greasy as you want it to be.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:57 PM) Man, there's an eon between pitches now. Seriously, does Willie Eyre slow the game down Steve Trachsel style out there?
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) burger. I'm one of the few that goes there for their burgers, but I love 'em. Their double cheeseburger is a meal in itself. Heavenly..i agree with you there.
  8. QUOTE(SnB @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) tuna? wtf is wrong with you. I had some portillo's for lunch, it was crede-like. MMM...portillos. Call me a woman, but i'm currently in love with the Chopped Salad
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) Mid game humor. Luke (Fort Dodge, IA): Will the Cubs even make it to the playoffs this year. SportsNation Buster Olney: (2:23 PM ET ) Luke: Sorry, don't think so. They're digging a big hole, and while Derrek Lee is a terrific player, it can't be that great of a team if they simply get wiped out game after game in the absence of one player. What moronic cub fans thinks they have a chance to make the playoffs. Nuff' said *ducks* He was probably asking about the Iowa Cubs anyway.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Farmer talking about opening up an alligator's stomach and having a woman's corpse fall out. This is pleasant. Did this occur during one of his bus trips while he was in the minor leagues? Because those are the only stories I enjoy listening to
  11. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) thanks, I'm not a smoker myself so it won't bother me. It's just interesting that over here you'll never see anyone with a beer in their hand while watching a game, but they will be smoking up a storm. Well prepare yourself for the complete opposite over here...
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 15, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) Scotty Pods and Chris Widger have all our RBI's thus far in the game. I, for one, totally expected that to be the case today.
  13. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ May 13, 2006 -> 01:26 PM) New album by hoobastank comin out soon called Every Man for Himself, listened to it online sounds good. Ugh Hoobastank is in the team picture with Nickelback for bands gone bad...that new CD plays like a childrens Disney special.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 13, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Or that we must trade for Rowand. This boggles my mind over almost anything I have previously seen. Whenever someone posts how we should, can, or will trade for Rowand I want to throw myself out a first story window. As for Garland, all i have to say is that he is making my beginning of the season prediction look pretty good. In fact, I might have been overly optomistic. This does not make me happy
  15. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 12, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Was he drunk or sick or something to make him nanner on like that? That would be a nasty ailment to cause you to act like a fool on national television. he was certainly way too drinky.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 11, 2006 -> 04:54 PM) Does it really matter. We are bringing in an arm to fill BMAC's spot. He might not even get a shot to pitch, unless we are up or down several runs. Its not like this guy is starting, he is just filling in a gap. I dont understand why people care so damn much. Exactly I dont see why we should care at all about this move. The only thing that we should/can be concerned about is that it pushes Logan and Thornton into more prominent roles in our bullpen. This is why you have AAAA players. So you can fill in roster spots during times just like these.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 11, 2006 -> 04:26 PM) I'm not saying its going to cost us the season, but its still a stupid move. Tracey >>>>> Moreno. Not only does Tracey have lightyears better stuff, he also has a tremendous attitude and deserves the shot over Moreno (plus Tracey is more susceptible to suceed). Moreno = AAAAer and a juicer on top of that. C'mon Jas, I've heard nothing but good things about Tracey's character and I know he has filthy stuff but with his control do you honestly think he can successfully get major league hitters out? Even control pitchers such as BMac struggle with the ML zone their first time around. Tracey needs to cut down on the walks or he will be eaten alive. I know nothing about this Montero character or moses moreno as you like to call him apparently. Hopefully they call him up and he never even sees action except in mop up duty.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) Wow. I was really hoping to see Tracey. I wasn't. I love Tracey's stuff but until he gets better control of his pitches (20bb in like 30 innings this year) there is no way he is ready to pitch for the big club.
  19. Disappointing assets on that girl....
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 11, 2006 -> 07:59 AM) This game has rainout written all over it. Exactly...I'm no weatherman but I'm saying there is no more than a 10% chance that this game even starts tonight.
  21. Even if we lose this game I dont think there is anything you can possibly not love about this comeback. Tremendous effort tonight.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Use it Brian. That first pitch they called a strike to Brian pretty much gives you zero chanlkcaj HOME RUN!!!!!!!!!!
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Brandon not looking any better than Chuck early on. Um..can I agree to disagree?
  24. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) Atleast Molina prevented Haeger from his 7th walk. Unfortunately, his ERA raises again. Haeger's meatballs are eating up our infielders. The combination of rocket ground balls and an excessive amount of balls/walks can make any infield look like complete crap. Too much inactivity to be ready to make a play.
  25. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Is he performing about as expected for anyone else, or is it just me? You honestly thought he would walk 7? The run total isn't all that surprising...
