  1. QUOTE(bmags @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:09 AM) i can think of a billion reasons to refuse to perform on the view. The only reason I can think of to perform on the View is the fact that Elisabeth Hasselbach is on the show.
  2. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:57 AM) Hey man, I agree. Don't shoot the messenger! I'm just stating what I believe will happen, not what I think is right. Yeah I didnt mean to use your quote like that, but more as a point of em-PHA-sis sorry
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:45 AM) It seems some folks interpereted AJ's path from the plate to his helmet as lowering a shoulder into Barrett. I personally find that sad and delusional, kind of like people who think the Cubs lose because of a goat. But that, combined with his reputation, means he will get some small suspension to appease the other teams in the league. It sucks. It doesn't suck...its absolutely ridiculous. When you plow over someone like that, there is no way you can rationally think that going to get your helmet is/was trying to provoke Barrett to grab him and punch him. Any person with half of a brain, and apparently that is hard to find now-a-days, can tell that AJ was obviously lowering the left side of his body to try and abstain from making contact with Barrett. I guarantee if they suspend him it will be for provoking the crowd after the fight, but how can you blame someone who gets fired up after so totally pwning their opponents they decide they have to punch you in the face to get even. I'm just praying that Watson is taking his time and actually rules fairly in this situation, but who am I kidding...
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) I went to a game at the Metrodome last year. The ushers would not let you down to your seat from the concession area during an at bat. In San Diego the Ushers hold signs during play at the top of the rows basically stating "We kindly ask all fans to stand on the concourse until a stoppage in play". They will stop you if you try to walk down. The Sox could definitely re-educate the current fanbase by introducing this little rule. I definitely enjoyed the fact that the Padres did this.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:09 AM) Well... you might care, but it shows you're not paying attention to the game. "Oooo.... here it comes... wait, wait.. ok.. here we go... wheeee..... hehe.. that was so fun. Look.. it's coming around again... Ooooo... " I never do the wave..however there is a big difference when the wave is done in a one run game and when it is done is a 5 run game. Completely different circumstances.
  6. It's pretty obvious that Halladay is afraid of facing us.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:21 AM) I know that. But that's been years. Konerko will never play a position outside of 1B or DH for the rest of his career. Exactly. Back in the Dodgers system, he was drafted as a catcher, moved to OF, and then moved to 3B before finally becoming a first basemen. All of this is fun to talk about but he will never play another position for the rest of his playing days. Unless of course were back in Oakland and Jermaine Dye is playing SS again. Then all bets are off.
  8. Great time! Not such a great time this morning... I met a few people, however, I'm not sure if they met me or my drunk imposter.
  9. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) pods has been watching video of Pable play LF Pods has been struggling going to his right all season. That was exactly like the ball he dropped earlier this season.
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) AJ is also our hottest hitter. Ozzie seems to never like to sub his catcher...He likes to have the backup catcher there in case of injury. Kinda like having a 3rd LOOGY in the bullpen who is uncable of a coherant thought. BTW, with Thornton pitching like he is right now, and Cotts being Cotts, why do we need a third lefty? these two are money right now.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Awesome play by Vazquez! I like his balls. Maybe Boone can learn a thing or 2 from watching Javy field. Yes because covering first is such a rare talent for pitchers nowadays.
  12. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 18, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) I like Ozuna but I still know that he's a butcher with a noodle arm. He's epically bad in the OF, if you combine his defensive work with BA's struggles at the plate you get Boone Logan
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) In case you're keeping score at home. Brian Anderson Batting Average Watch: .170 I'm a BA backer, but that is getting a little ridiculous. You would have to think a 4-5 game is on the horizon somewhere. Vazquez looking very good right now.
  14. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) There isn't one. We're all clueless on that. Good..I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Terrible AB's that inning...goodness
  15. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) I think they're hoping he blows out his arm. Can you somehow give me a rational reason why he is still up with the big club?
  16. The equivalent of pulling a fire alarm - Boone Logan is loosening up in the bullpen!!
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Paulie needs a triple here to continue his cycle effort. Its possible, considering this stadium was home to his inside the park home run. Nevermind the fact that konerko triple richoched off the metal yellow bar all the way from dead center into the right field corner.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Something good must have been going on in his life about that time... :rolly oh my...........................................
  19. I thought you guys would be on top of this... Cubs signed Tony Womack today.

    Taters...

    TERRIBLE...I read about three words and clicked the X to close the window.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 18, 2006 -> 10:08 AM) I totally agree with your second point. Sox fans are afraid to cheer at the park. In regard to your first point, maybe a better idea is to cheer FOR the Sox and not against the opponent. Couldn't have wrote that better myself. Why chant 1908?? Nobody playing for either team could give two sh*ts about 1908. If you're so into chanting why don't you chant world champs or something. Dwelling on the Cubs misfortunes is exactly why Sox fans carry the stereotypes that we do.
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) There's a Sun-Times article today that says Ozzie's not sending Logan down. Wonderful :banghead I love having a 24 man roster.
  23. I'm assuming the people that fall into the middle ground of this little argument just aren't posting? Should Springer have thrown at Bonds? Nope Is Bonds a saint and innocent of any wrongdoing? Nope I'm so glad that Soxbadger told me that there are players on the Sox who have cheated more than Barry has. lol..fascinating Almost as bad as posting that someone should hit Barry in the head and get it over with. Now I know why ESPN airs Bonds stuff 12 hours a day, because you people are obsessed with talking about this clown.
  24. Am I the only one who is pretty excited about this final this afternoon? I have the DVR up and running and I'm expecting a pretty close, very exciting game. Barcelona 2 Arsenal 1
