QUOTE(thedoctor @ May 27, 2006 -> 09:00 AM) benn narrows list to five notre dame, southern cal, florida state, miami, and maryland. I'm pretty sure that we are still on Benn's list. USC is off and we are on...this was posted incorrectly! I still se no way we are going to get him but I thought I would correct the original post.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) ^^ And I corrected it for ya. But don't worry. Henry will explain in painful detail why you should be concerned about this. Yippie!!!!!! Show me the light!

I don't get it Frankly, I think we need to stop being whiny b****es and enjoy watching White Sox Baseball. I've never really noticed or have been outraged by local newspaper bias, so either I am blinded by my own stupidity or lack a degenerative 'woe is me' gene necessary to properly view it.

Looks to me that there will be a passing tstorm mid game but they should be able to play it out afterwards.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) :headshake Softball is: A.) For girls. B.) For guys who can't play baseball. C.) Geezers who can't play baseball. Anyways, we lost to Jones in the 1st round of the state playoffs. But we got a good seed in the city and we play Prosser tomorrow. I played on a softball team that had 5 guys who played College baseball on it. Therefore your little A,B,C's of Softball are nothing but bunk. -
I stayed at a Crowne Plaza for like $75.00 a night and we were real close to the park from what I remember. I would recommend using Priceline, naming your own price and seeing what it gives you. The park is centrally located in the downtown area so as long as your in the vicinity of downtown you'll be very close.

Couple of interesting Soccer stories...

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 30, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) First Beckham, now Ronaldo. What is the obsession with playing in the US? It's an unwinnable market. Soccer has grown five fold in the past 10 years or so. It's still just a blip on the sports radar for the United States, but interest is definitely on the upswing. -

QUOTE(wilmot825 @ May 30, 2006 -> 09:28 AM) how embarrassing for stoney Meh..I really don't find either of those pictures embarrassing at all. Thats a nice leisure suit. And two girls behind him doing whatever little dance that is are kinda cute. -
Let me get out my super secret decoder to decipher that last post. Are you Mariotti trying to plug your article?
-
Did you just use the words 'classic' and 'mariotti' in the same sentence?

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ May 26, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) It was just really sad after Neifi dropped the ball, he didnt even rush after it until he saw Giles breaking for home. Poor managing leads to sloppy play. B&B said that Dusty was so upset during the news conference the Cubs PR department had to end it early. So maybe you should turn on your radio to hear a little mini blowup from Dusty.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Ain't it strange that people can watch the same exact footage but half of them will see what they want to see instead of what is actually happening? So you're telling me that I'm mistaken? Because I'm almost 90% sure you wouldn't waste the time to post this unless you see the opportunity to be a smartass.

Official Soxtalk 2006 World Cup Thread

QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ May 26, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) Cameroon That's a helluva pick The most amazing thing about the Cameroon pick is that they didn't even qualify for the World Cup this year. The Ivory Coast, Angola, Togo, Tunisia, and Ghana qualified from the African Region this year. -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 26, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Congratulations, Jason. Accounting degrees suck. Now that you have one, I can tell you that. :banghead Where were you a few years ago??

Congratulations Gage..btw, your life officially sucks now!

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 26, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) AJ called into the Dan Patrick show and said he was fined $2000. Hmm, that seems like a bit much for "inciting the crowd". Every time I hear a caller call into any radio show and say "AJ intentionally dropped his shoulder into Barrett when he walked by" I want to sit down, watch a video tape of the fight with this person, and while he is paying attention to it jack him in the face.
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 26, 2006 -> 09:06 AM) So AJ got fined? I would like to know for what I guarantee it was for raising his arms up after the fight and getting a rise out of the crowd. That kinda stuff is not exactly smiled upon by the League.

Getting this second hand from another site but p/ the Score Barrett: 10 games + fine BA: 5 games + fine Cora: 2 games + fine AJP: fine

QUOTE(bmags @ May 25, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) hasselback is the most disgusting bush apologist i've ever seen... Wow besides gawking at her for two second intervals I have never actually noticed she can speak. Who knew???

QUOTE(Steff @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) He went for his throat and got a hand full of his chest protector. Which is clear in the pic above, and will be clear to the review board. Intent will get him a game or 3. I would have been hard pressed to not do at least what Pods did if I was in that exact situation. I was livid at my house when it was going on. This is one of the few fights that only really had one instigator. I hope the MLB really lays it down hard on MB.

Thanks Man..I just printed out your little review..

QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:58 AM) Tell me what you like to eat and I'll tell you the places ... there are at least a dozen. Theres not much I don't like to eat. But I would love to know where we could get a good burger, beef, or sausage on our way to the parking lot to accompany our tailgate festivities. Since the grilling food yourself always seems a bit excessive.

In 2/3 of an inning he managed to give up 3 runs, make 2 errors, Give up 1 hit, walk one batter and hit another batter. His ERA stands at 27.00. Sadly, I am not making this up Charlotte ended up losing 8-7. Fields went 2/5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI Rogo went 3/5, 2 RBI Redding gave up 4 runs, 10 hits in 5 innings, but had 9 K's. linky

QUOTE(JimH @ May 25, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) I love eating at one of the many great neighborhood spots, or picking up the food and eating it in the parking lot. The food in Bridgeport is underappreciated, generally inexpensive, and there's just about anything you'd want. I am fascinated by this idea, but being an unadventurous suburbanite, I would love to get more info on which places I should be trying.
