  1. 8/240 wew. Don't mind the money but 8 years with no opt outs is a risk. 6/180-200 would be where I'd want him. Either way if that's going to be the asking price they need to pull the trigger.
  2. I have been saying 2 year deal, 2nd year club option at most. It makes no sense to lock him up for the 2nd and 3rd years.
  3. But he's been really good for the Sox while we have been bad and therfore we owe him millions and a roster spot going forward. It's not like spots are a currency.
  4. Why would they option Cordell he has 5 tools?
  5. I don't like Rick Hahn but he has been fantastic at this.
  6. I actually agree with this, despite how good he has been he needs to have a consistent breaking ball. The variations of the changeups and locating the high FB are great this year but adding a curve or slider into the mix I think will help. Not something you really do in season so hopefully he makes that a priority in the Spring.
  7. Baseball is an individual team sport. Thinking "clubhouse presence" is somehow significant enough to extend an aging, bad defensive player is goofy. Giving Abreu a guarenteed roster spot 3 years from now is not a good baseball move, regardless of how much you like him. Vaughn is in his first month + of professional baseball and they just spent the 3rd overall pick on him. Unless he turns into trash you can probably expect to see him in 2021 or very early 2022 based on what the Sox have been doing. There is 0 reason to guarentee Abreu a spot for 2022.
  8. Yikes. So give him a bunch of money to hold a roster spot when his replacement is already in the minors when this team should be really good because of his "clubhouse presence". There is no way he should get more than a 2 year deal with options.
  9. I don't know how you don't try to lock him up. He already got the TJ done.
  10. Next 5 series are all pretty tough. Texas, Twins, Braves, Tribe, Angels. We will see.
  11. Those 2 Cubs games hurt so much.
  12. That pitch was in the exact same spot he called a ball on.
  13. That is 3 missed calls against the Sox this inning.
  14. What the Astros, Dodgers, Rays etc are doing is a league above the moneyball era.
  15. There is no way this team will succeed with this type of thinking. Shit rolls downhill so if he feels comfortable saying this to the media there is most likely somebody above him that agrees. You can't manage and run clubs like the early to mid 2000's anymore.
  16. SOME Cubs fans don't care for the FO because of Sinclair Media. 670 the Score and others will tell you Alex Jones will be selling Super Male Vitality during commercial breaks and interviewing Anthony Rizzo on Fluoride in the water. I would kill to have the Cubs FO.
  17. Im not even a math guy, I'm a Cop. But when you have certain teams that are always winning and always doing the right thing with players and development YOU FOLLOW THAT TREND. To say you aren't going to do that because you've been a garbage manager in the league for however long is a disgrace to the fans and people like me that have gone to a considerable amount of games this season. Fuck Ricky and the FO
