  1. This entire front office is a disgrace tbh. Why are guys like Skole, Castillo, Reed, Jay, and to an extent Goins even getting AB's. It is common fucking knowledge these guys aren't in the plans when there are guys younger doing better things in AAA. I can be okay with Collins since for whatever reason he is being blocked by Castillo and whatever garbage is at DH so he can get more ABs. Fine. But where is Yermin and Mendick. You do not know what they are at the MLB level. Goins has been professional so I can't knock him and maybe he gets Yolmers spot next year as an IF utility guy. Then you have Fulmer who is out of options being put aside for the likes of Josh Osich, Herrera, and others when you still don't know what he will be really. This was allegedly the last year before we open the window and we still have a ton of unknowns that could be factors next year. Yermin has RAKED at every level. That could be a cheap, controlable DH option next year and we haven't got a sniff of him. Bringing some of these guys up in September is way too small of a sample size to rely on. It's pathetic.
  2. There is no way you can even defend this. But I'm sure Hahn and crew don't care. He is saying that he manages on feel. That is not how you manage a baseball team in the year of our Lord 2019. Our clean up hitters most of the year have been Yonder Alonso, Wellington Castillo, and Jon Jay. I saw the lineup card after this thread and am assuming somebody said something to him, since it actually makes more sense than the usual trash lineups he constructs.
  3. "I go against things winning teams are doing", the rant. Get rid of him please.
  4. Yeah, Hal is not the same type of owner as his Dad. I expect them to be in the mix because of need and them shedding some payroll but they don't overspend anymore.
  5. Because there isn't as clear of a fall off and if you are a really good pitcher you can still get batters out with less velocity.
  6. That's because most players aren't taking steroids anymore to prolong their careers. There is a pretty clear trend that around 34-35 the numbers fall off a cliff.
  7. Pretty dumb. A lot of these guys from DR end up in some shady shit when their career is done.
  8. Alex Wood has pitched 5 games this year after coming back from injury. I'd like to see how he finishes before considering him done. I'd much rather have him be a long man/spot start guy anyways since he has had injury problems.
  9. You're assuming he's going to agree to be a long man/spot starter. I'll put that at 0% chance.
  10. If the White Sox go out and sign garbage like Ivan Nova when their window just opens with zero payroll I'll be livid. I know a lot of others that would be as well. They didn't tear down this team to continue signing shit players. The FO knew going into this year we were still a year or 2 away. There is zero reason to sign players because they are cheap going into 2020.
  11. What the hell is wrong with some of you lol
  12. There are other players we can sign for depth that wouldn't have an ERA over 6 in the first half.
  13. Jon Jay as the cleanup hitter is a joke. Jon Jay as the cleanup hitter when Abreu, Eloy, McCann, and Tim are in the lineup should be fireable.
  14. This is a Sox move the Sox should not be making when there window is opening. Let somebody else that needs pitching that has high payroll get Nova. He was awful in the first half and those games should matter a little more in 2020. He was an adequate signing for this years team as he has given you innings and stayed healthy. We don't have any payroll next year. A poster said our minimum will be 100 million, that puts the Sox the 6th lowest in baseball and only 9 million more than this year. Having a payroll just like this years for next year would be a bigger embarassment than missing out on Machado.
  15. Eloy has to make aporoach adjustments and start pulling the ball a little more. There is no reason to be worried about him offensively. In the field I think he'll end up being serviceable but he's not going to be anything more than that imo. But that's fine when he's going to hit 40+ HRs a year.
  16. He's going to have a draft pick attached to him as well as the injury and consistency issues. I would be happy with a Wheeler signing though if we don't get Cole or Strasburg.
  17. Coaches aren't the same thing as a player "Leader". I don't even know why you would try to make that comparison.
  18. I don't mind losses like this when I'm not at the game tbh. Good tank losses are fine this year.
  19. I'm not biting. At the end of the day none of this background noise matters aside from Eloy hitting dingers again.
