  1. Saw on the news tonight that the oldest male in the US and 3rd oldest in the world is 112 years old. Why should I mention this you ask. He's a White Sox fan and was recently feted at grf by Brooks with skybox treatment. Just thought that inquiring minds would want to know.
  2. This just might be the breakout game Palka has been needing.?
  3. Hahn was approached by a minimum of 3 teams to interview for their GM openings when he was assistant to KW. He is somewhat under appreciated on this forum but the baseball world respects him. I'm with you in that he has made some really smart moves in both trades and extensions. He has had some missteps like everyone in that line of work.
  4. Hahn is a lawyer and worked as an agent for two years giving him a somewhat unique background in working with agents. He is a contracts specialist rather than being a baseball guy like Kenny. If Kenny wasn't so annoying...the partnership of a contracts guy and a baseball guy makes sense. IMO Jerry is far more involved in the day to day than many owners...creating a 3 headed think tank.
  5. And some of the reasons we will be a 90+ win team next year. We are progressing nicely on schedule.
  6. Those stars form the nucleus of our future powerhouse team. Now RH has to finish building the support staff. I have zero doubt that RH will get that done this offseason.
  7. Good point. When I make negative remarks about Ricky...they are my way of taking out my frustration with his bunting and lineup propensities. I like Ricky as a person.
  8. Not much point in spending lots of time hating on the team you claim to love.
  9. This team has a lot of good hitters. I see Robert in a mid order role...but similar to Moncada any of the top 3 spots are not unreasonable. I think a lineup of Anderson, Madrigal, Robert, Moncada, Eloy and Abreu as 1through 6 would have early leads in lots of games. If we sign Grandal and Ozuna in the offseason you can just pull names out of a hat since that lineup would just be sick.?
  10. When evaluating RH for the things we disagree with...need to remember this kind of trade is also his doing. I particularly like his work with extensions for Sale, Q, Eaton and Anderson. He's much better than many give him credit for.
  11. After many posters mentioned Nimmo I looked into him a bit since I didn't know much about him. He's growing on me as a possibility.
  12. Madrigal fits at leadoff, second in the order or #9. My preference is #2 because he can take pitches for lead off man steals, hit behind the runner, work walks and actually knows how to bunt (Ricky requirement.)
  13. I find it annoying. A little of that goes a long way.
  14. With Stone talking up Yolmer as the best defensive 2nd baseman in either league...probably thinking of trade to get something for him.
  15. We already have had a number of warning track flyouts.
  16. I've said it before...but Madrigal hits sound like rifle shots.
  17. Watching for homers and Anderson hits. This doesn't look like a pitching masterpiece.
