Obviously not a good series. The starts by Lopez, Gio and Cease are the good to take away from an otherwise awful series. Next year this will be a distant memory.

I will enjoy watching a player with plate discipline.

I believe in growing your own or trading to get your stars and using free agency to solidify your weak spots. Grandal, Wheeler, Wood & Gennett would be outstanding gets. When you add guys like this to Robert & Madrigal plus adding back Kopech, Rodon & Dunning...that club contends. A guy like Cole would be nice but not a necessity to contend. I have never been a fan of putting to much resource into one player. You only have so much payroll even if you are the Yankees. If the FO is expanding the payroll by let say 100 million...I would rather get a package of players like you suggest.

Another 2 or 3 weeks in the Spring and he should be ready for the big show.

The last two games showcased the outstanding pitching of Lopez and Giolito. For the next two months the performances of the future core players is what we have to cheer. Eloy & Anderson...not so much.

A better question might be why is Reed on this roster?

With Moncada out and no new toys to talk about...this is going to be a dull couple of weeks.

RH made the decision to ask for and receive the moon or use Colome for our own run in 2020. Seems reasonable to me. Don't get me wrong...I wanted in on the action but RH is probably right in this inaction.

I said more than a month ago that what the FO did today would show us their intentions for 2020. The only reason to keep Colome, Bummer & Abreu is if we are contending next year. RH now has this off season to show my faith in him is warranted.

I expect Colome to be traded by the time I come down for breakfast tomorrow.

And swinging at strikes.

This is my view as well. Baseball agrees to the rules...we play by them. Not much to argue about IMO.

I don't know anything about Bader but his stat line looks like he could be Adam Engle.

These guys should not be part of any deal. No player is untradeable...these guys come close. Could almost guarantee they come back and bite you in the ass.

The money being tossed around got very expensive even with the big boys sitting out. Next year we have very good third baseman and excellent 2nd baseman and the money to buy what we need in pitching and right field. The plan is on schedule IMO.
