What’s driving the White Sox success? Start with hitting it big in the draft.
We cashed in on 3 quality players (Sale, Q, Eaton) who were under favorable contracts. Had several quality drafts and some nice international signings. Also picked up several quality FA's at high but affordable prices. Rick Hahn should be given much credit for building this powerhouse on a middle-of-the-road budget.

ELOY back Monday against KC
I would be surprised to see Eloy ever pick up a 1st baseman mitt. I think DH and occasional LF is it for him.

Vaughn v. Sheets v. Burger v. Mercedes
This is an exceptionally well-done write-up by VAfan and I agree with his conclusions. True to my nature I hope we keep all of them primarily because we would be selling low on the top 3 candidates IMO and Mercedes just has deal sweetener value at least until NL approves the DH. Anyone can be traded for the right deal but I would want real difference makers in return.

Gavin Sheets - STUD
Leury has developed into a good baseball player...certainly better than I would ever have imagined. This injury-riddled year has provided opportunities for Leury, Vaughn, Sheets, Burger, Goodwin, Mercedes, and even Seby. I would say our depth has proven substantially better than most of us thought. TRL has shown us that he still knows how to handle a roster IMO. When all the regulars are back for playoff baseball...some painful demotions will need to happen.

They haven't had much reason until now.

I agree with you but hate to see it actually, Burger and Sheets are going to be good players IMO. We have to give to get so I get it. Just don't be giving them away for a box of rocks.

Salary relief is a tradeable asset.

Is it time to give TLR his due? And maybe some apologies?
Yeah...those were the days.

Engel back, Eaton DFA
I agree... a true 5 tool player ability.

ELOY back Monday against KC
Vaughn, Hamilton, or Engel depending on who's playing CF and RF.

Gavin Sheets - STUD
I like him a lot. Hope that both he and Burger get plenty of playing time.

The Grandal will come out tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar
Sounds like Vulture could use this adjustment.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Billy...it never leaves his face.

ELOY back Monday against KC
With Engel looking good and these two guys returning we will have an abundance of offensive people we want to play. Try to find a short-term 2nd base upgrade and some BP help does it for me. I wouldn't mind an upgrade at catcher but I was pleased to see the way Zebby handled the position.

Baseball is a game where the decision you make today can affect the game tomorrow. I was critical of TRL resting Anderson on Tuesday since we have the AS break next week. I was panicked after losing the two games in Detroit and the Grandal injury. However, we won the Tuesday game and yesterday Tim goes 4 for 4 and looks lots better. He plays everyone so they are ready when needed. His in-game decisions irk me often but those decisions work out frequently. At the end of the day, TRL has won a lot of baseball games and he knows it's a long season.
