It might be a good idea to have some outfield drills before today's game. Almost had another collision last night. Players should not be learning to call for the ball at the major league level. Also, I am not keen on these ill-advised throws to home as the batter takes second base. The hitting sucks and the defense is worse. HELP!

Burgers' numbers are eye-popping and a DH who can back up another position or two is a nice plus.

True...but with our current DH problem I would give Burger a shot, Burger has a higher value to us than anyone else would be my guess.

The current lineup could dig quite a deep hole in a 5 week period. They need help as soon as possible IMO. Bring Burger up to replace Mercedes can happen now.

Sadly...I agree. There is no reason not to give Burger a shot at DH. Your outfield is the best we have and we both know it's pathetic. We need a couple of quality replacements and we need them now.

We need a good all-around right fielder as the #1 need of this team IMO. A very good eighth-inning bullpen guy would also be most welcome. Our offense is running on fumes.

I never put two and two together until you made this comment. I have been a fan for 65 years and yet not having 2 playoff seasons in a row is what every living WS fan has experienced. This is a year for all of us to get excited about.

Carlo needs to bring his A-game. We are in need to get the bad taste of last night out of our mouths.

IMO once he was brought up the decision is to play him every day. He is actually a pleasant surprise in his ability to play a passable outfield.

I like most of this and especially Mercedes losing his automatic entry into the lineup. However, Engel is our best all-around outfielder at this point and should be the everyday centerfielder IMO.

He is a five-tool player who should be playing every day IMO.

I agree...and for what it's worth I am a lot more comfortable with Engel in centerfield.

Apparently not a run-of-the-mill tear. Better to get it over with than to play around for a couple of months and then decide. Robert, Eloy, Engel, Kopech and now Madrigal. That's a lot of DL time from important players. Shows how strong this team was at full force. I still think we will make a strong playoff run in spite of all this bad luck.

This will definitely be the plan if Mercedes continues on his current path IMO.
