  1. It has gotten to where it doesn't matter who is the starter...we should win that game.
  2. I think this is correct so long as they keep it up. May will be a key month what with playing lots of inter-division matchups. Also, anxious to get Engel back. He fits this team very well and Eaton needs some off time. Adam's hamstring must have been a beauty to have him out of action this long.
  3. That play behind second by Anderson was another from another world as well.
  4. All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
  5. My point was simply that I'm surprised that Cairo & Katz don't seem to get much flack from this forum while many people think TL has forgotten what a baseball looks like. There is no reason to have a bench coach if not to whisper in the manager's ear of situations requiring his attention. I am sure Katz is watching every pitch with knowledgeable eyes. If they were warning TL of this impending doom...shame on TL. If not...they share some of the blame.
  6. Of course, TL has the final say. I was making the point that Katz & Cairo are also part of the discussion to remove a pitcher and it is seldom if ever mentioned. Try to get over your passive-aggressive nature and let someone have an opinion that differs from your own once in a while.
  7. You don't have an answer to the question apparently.
  8. While many are unhappy with how TL left Gio in the game the other day...I am surprised that Cairo and Katz go unmentioned. They certainly have input into these matters.
  9. I have less faith in Dallas than any of our starters.
  10. I agree. The best possible lineup available each and every day is for me. We have a great rotation and a good pen. We are not overmatched in any game IMO.
  11. Leury is fine it used correctly. Earl Weaver was my kind of manager. He played his best position players every day and used subs to rest regulars in the blowout games, late-inning base runner, and defensive situation. He didn't believe in bunting a guy over either. His core belief was you only get 27 outs so he wasn't going to give any of them away. No Sunday lineups for him. He made every attempt to win each and every game. His methods might be called outdated today...but fans didn't pay their money to watch the scrubs play.
  12. I just finished watching the 2nd game replay from last night. That Leury guy looked really good. I wonder if TL will find a way to get him into more games.?
  13. Very restful day for the bullpen.
  14. Watch out...according to some on this board, AJ Hinch is a master tactician.
  15. Yeah but Cease is like a lot of guys who go from 0-2 to 3-2 as they peck around. I like changing eye level and showing a pitch just to put it in the hitter's mind...but good pitchers challenge hitters IMO. Conserves pitch count and keeps fielders in the game. Lopez types could learn a lot by emulating Mark Buehrle.
  16. Hollywood film stuff but probably deemed unbelievable.
  17. They both look like safe bets IMO. I can't remember a pitcher coming back from serious arm surgeries and looking this good. Rodon and Mercedes have been like found money.
  18. I want both but I would pick Rodon if I had that limitation. His work this year has been Ace-worthy. Also, we've put so much into Carlos I can't help to want to retrieve some of our equity.
  19. I don't believe Rodon is under WS control after this year. Every effort is probably being made to extend him as we speak. If no extension can be reached...I would imagine they will ride him hard and put him away wet. Possibly a trade when Kopech is deemed ready to go. I'm hoping for the extension but with Boris as his agent...anyone's guess.
  20. Losing one would feel bad but when we win I can live with it. Actually, the extra-inning man on 2nd is my go-to complaint. That's just amateur hour.
