Preaching to the choir.?

Yep...more or less when there is no chance of Hamilton batting.

Bad at-bat but good overall game. Big HR and works well with Rodon. Like another poster suggested earlier...Collins catching Rodon and Gio would work for me. Collins and Vaughn both looking better all the time IMO.

Amen to teeballesque bull. That's a mouthful.

Yep...however, we all know his best use is as a late-inning base runner or defensive sub. If Engel were back today I would be fine with the current guys. Since Engel isn't apparently ready anytime soon...RH really needs to find an answer.

Madrigal.
Agreed! Power hitters give up some average to swing for the fences...high BA and OBP guys give up some power for better bat control. I don't care about Nicky hitting homers...it just isn't his game.

I like your thoughts on the pitcher/catcher pairings.

I'm going to enjoy the White Sox this year
Nope.

If you can't see the truth in what I said...you are already too far gone.

We constantly get into these back and forth name-calling battles of who can make the most clever snide remarks. Have any of you ever changed the mind of a single poster? Topic after topic gets taken over by these back and forth arguments where everyone restates what has already been said time and again.

Royals/Sox pitching match-ups
I feel strangely confident on days when Rodon pitches.

Albert Pujols
Nope...he might be mad and he might bad but he ain't crazy.

I hate when we lose a tough game and have the next day off. Seems like we haven't won in ages.

Sox rotation so far
KC is running into the buzz saw of Rodon, Lynn, and Gio. Let's find that upgrade for the outfield and start putting distance between us and the also-rans.

That's why I agree with those who don't want decade-long contracts given out. How many years did the Angels get a top producer? He hasn't been exceptional for 4 years or more.

I think that's right. As they say..." rank has its privileges."

I liked Al Lopez, Chuck Tanner, and Gene Lamont.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Agreed. I actually like him a lot if used in late-inning running and defensive situations. When he has a bat in his hand's bad things happen.

And Hamilton can buy a ticket to the game.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
People being talked about would include Joey Gallo, Joc Pederson, Charlie Blackmon, and Jason Hayward. Any of this type of player would improve our current situation but none qualify as a blockbuster acquisition. I am referring to your statement that blockbuster deals don't tend to happen in early May.

Not the baseball savant that some of these guys are but I try to keep up.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
None of the names being talked about would be blockbusters IMO. Our outfield is in dire need of a solid addition. I'm thinking someone more sure thing than Brian Goodwin. If he was the answer he would already be on the team.

Those Harper & Machado deals would be no-brainers if you could just discard them when performance dropped.

No problem. Several people thought I was being serious. Not as obvious as I thought apparently.
