  1. They both look like safe bets IMO. I can't remember a pitcher coming back from serious arm surgeries and looking this good. Rodon and Mercedes have been like found money.
  2. I want both but I would pick Rodon if I had that limitation. His work this year has been Ace-worthy. Also, we've put so much into Carlos I can't help to want to retrieve some of our equity.
  3. I don't believe Rodon is under WS control after this year. Every effort is probably being made to extend him as we speak. If no extension can be reached...I would imagine they will ride him hard and put him away wet. Possibly a trade when Kopech is deemed ready to go. I'm hoping for the extension but with Boris as his agent...anyone's guess.
  4. He's our closer.
  5. Losing one would feel bad but when we win I can live with it. Actually, the extra-inning man on 2nd is my go-to complaint. That's just amateur hour.
  6. Looks like murders row compared to last game. Can't wait to see Engel back. Leury is working on my last nerve.
  7. I don't want to see him at all except for some late-inning fill-in work in blowouts. Really hard to understand TL using Leury so heavily. When coaches work so closely with the manager...one would think they would raise the issue.
  8. This really is dumb when you have Mercedes on the bench.
  9. I criticized this lineup earlier in this game thread. Try to keep up.
  10. Rodon like a hot knife through butter.
  11. I always try to find a reason why the baseball people do what they do. After all...they are the professionals. This lineup is beyond what the most open-minded of fans can understand. I wish our announcers would shed some light on what appears a foolish use of resources. Four bench guys playing in the same game is just over the top.
  12. I am in Michigan. How does the weather look for getting both games in? Thanks!
  13. Nice that you've joined the optimist on the board. I think you will find it more enjoyable.
  14. Stating a fact...how is that carrying water?
  15. RH trades Eaton for a haul and then gets him back for a pittance. I guess those Harvard guys are very smart indeed.
  16. Robert never gets a day off and it seems...neither does Leury.
  17. When Mike Trout goes 25th in the draft...seems like not many teams have a resident expert on staff.
  18. This is a well-thought-out response. Good job.
  19. And Vaughn looked good in his place after TL lifted Mercedes.
  20. What kind of things??
  21. What do you suppose the bench coach is doing while this is going on?
  22. Noone is saying last night's game was TL's finest moment...not even Tony. Actually, TL actually admits when he feels he blew it more than most.
  23. Someone here will come up with it. I thought at the time it would raise a stink.
  24. I think it was Anderson (not sure) who was commenting a few days ago about TL being 3 or 4 steps ahead of everyone else. I'm sure you get the point...real ballplayers respect his knowledge of the game.
  25. Unlike some...I am well aware that I am not always right. Enjoy tonight's game.
