oh everyone sins some people just don't act like they are God's party and have all family values and equate their political partisanship with Christianity that's my point just saying and what am I hearing on the news right this moment (NPR) about the Republican governor of Connecticut breaking the law on renovations, having lied about it, on his cottage paid for by the state and a corruption charge taking place....
  2. one of my friends, a die hard Sox fan, just emailed me: He will go, Magglio.. not for much, Sox suck And that from a person who I never thought would say something like that - although it is musical - KW better come through or else... ... or else what? where is the shrugging I don't know smiley when you need it?
  3. quitter had a top 20 finish yesterday and went over 700,000 while watching my bowl contest chances go down the tubes because of stupid North Texas

I agree with whoever said that if we trade for Nomar and then trade away Nomar it will really anger a lot of Sox fans if we trade away Nomar while we also trade away Mags, I will not have any parking problems at USCF next season I think a lot of posters are getting way too jacked up on things that are only possible and in the ever changing baseball world may never, ever happen - the sports media is feeding you stuff just for ratings - until the GMs annouce something, no one knows a damn thing however for all of you, I wish you to have the esperience that we once had a long, long time ago befor emost of you were born: the day we signed Carlton Fisk the day we got Greg Luzinski I still think way too many folks have way too many expectations of what may happen in the next few days based on rumors and speculations but for no other reason than what a kick it is, I hope something happens if only you all get the thrill Sox fans had when we got Fisk and when we got Luzinski (plus I think Nomar would be a great upgrade from StJosE6)
  6. that he does we were all Marlins fans that week
  7. A friendly reminder: there is only one Pudge and he wore #72. There is an IRod with his own non rip off Sox name. Now if his name is a rip off of some nonSix player, who cares, but don't rip of a Sox great's name for anyone else, please. If we don't have standards, then we are no better the cub fans.

last week... a Republican congressman convicted of manslaughter after getting off on dozens of known speeding violations a Republian governor sued for sexual harrassment this week... a Republican Senator who was on the forefront of "family values" revealed to have a child out of wedlock that he never acknowledged in his very long life a Republican governor indicted for racketeering and corruption just saying...
  9. Sad news - condolences to the fiance, family, and the friends of MSU Ottney´s death ruled a suicide Posted: 12/16/2003 Ottney's death ruled a suicide EAST LANSING -- The death of former Michigan State football player Brian Ottney in September has been ruled a suicide. Ottney died after ingesting a combination of medication and alcohol, according to a report released by the Los Angeles County Department of Coroners on Friday. The report also noted that Ottney had a history of depression. On Sept. 1, the 23-year-old Ottney died in Long Beach, Calif., where he had moved to begin a construction job. His death was first believed to have been caused by a seizure. He graduated from Michigan State with a bachelor’s degree in building construction management. This fall, he was engaged to marry Lacy Hauxhurst, a former Michigan State softball player. Ottney, a three-year letterwinner and former captain, had one year of eligibility remaining. But he realized during spring practice that the wear and tear on his knees was too much, so he decided to give up the game. Ottney, who was 6-foot-6 and had a playing weight of more than 300 pounds, was granted a medical redshirt after missing the 1999 season with a shoulder injury. Ottney started 33 straight ga

  11. 1. other than ncorg, not aware of any but ok, nino! 2. You don't but there are threads here saying people do 3. That is the last thing I want to. What I don't understand right now is we all know Frank is a JR favorite and yet JR hired Ozzie who is talking smack against the Big Hurt and reportedly Frank wants out - couldn't JR see through that or did that fail to come during interviews? now we know that KW tried to trade Frank to Boston (June 2002) and a shareholder uprising caused JR to stop the trade now KW hires a manager with no credentials other than he he is driving Frank away KW ain't so dumb but his smartness is to exert control over the players, not improve the team
  12. oh hell, trade StJosE6 for Ichiro if that fails, I'd trade Valentin for a ptbl in A ball just to move the big mouthed one
  13. yo, welcome to soxtalk! PS did you used to post at whitesox.com? I seem to recall your name and glad you came over here!
  14. Instant gratification is wanting moves now now now. As far as those 86 years - I have lived more of them than almost anyone else here, been going to games before some of the parents of the posters here were born so I don't take any s*** about how long anyone has waited for a world series winner - I f***ing win that one
  15. this poll is f***ed 1. RunDMC 2. Eminem 3. Tupac then all the rest except I would have Sugarhill Gang much higher and 2LiveCrew belongs on there as 1549 said
  16. supernuke is Canada too - ad DonkeyKonerko should be thanked for his work on the YNot quiz - lot a work for him, lot of fun for the rest of us
  17. dude, that is all it takes! is it because you never buy (as I read in another thread) that you you have 10 million in your pocket?

    Guess who's back

welcome back - people had noticed your absence and good you are back how about that Let It be Naked --- still grooving on that myself
  19. brandofan, I am not going to disagree with you either - that is why I was so p.o.ed at KW and Hahn last SoxFest - it is not simplistic one way or the other, you know that but I am not sure everyone does -I'd love to have good news now too - but maybe nothing that could be done now would be good news - I wish I felt more comfortable with what KW does, I suspect we all feel that way - oh for the days when Rollie Hemond was in charge. At least I trusted him.
  20. it does not come out of our pockets but to talk of someone else spending millions out of their pocket --- well, it is always fun to spend other peoples money but it is also a tad bit irresponsible to say someone else should spend millions upon millions - especially as a wise person here once said in the post of the year that many of us b**** about having to buy a half-price seat and be expected to sit in it as opposed to be able to sit in any seat we want which we did not pay for - The Sox are not the Bush White House which spends billions upon billions and runs massive deficits and takes a who cares attitude - it is a business - I have my guesses that the Sox could spend more but I don't really know the numbers - I have seen the Sox spend before and they may well do it again - a prevailing attitude on these boards is people wanting the Sox to do something now, now, now - in the era of instant gratification I suppose that is to be expected but while I want the Sox to make moves, I want them to be the right moves, not just any moves so it appears as if something is happening. And I don't need to be blasted about being overly kind to JR or KW - I was the one at SoxFest last year who made the comments to KW and Rick Hahn about MB's contract and I may tackl;e somne other issue this year when every one else is being nicey nicey - I think Rick Hahn is staring at me still in anger for what I said - we can rush into another Ritchie deal or another Lofton deal or Clayton deal -- I'd just as soon KW do something but do the right thing and if KW has shown us anything, if is that he always does something - it will happen
  21. I tend to totally agree with this post...
  22. I feel the exact same way hiring Ozzie as manager may be the worst thing we have done since hiring Hawk as GM
  23. tough way to hear about someone you know - my thoughts and prayers are with you right now Murice as well as the Magnuson family
