When this year began he had 1 year, 122 days of major league service time. Add a year, and he's still at least two years away from arbitration eligibility. While I agree they should treat him fairly, historically they economize (screw) those contracts they can, and he'd be one of them.

It's not a matter of getting used to Prior and Wood. Wood, if his control is on, is just about unhittable. Prior basically is unhittable. You have to hope Wood's control is off, and you need your own pitcher to be at his very best. Then you have a chance.

My guess is it's pretty much a matter of logistics. Whichever side of the property had more room to build the bigger locker room gets the home team. Or maybe more convenient to the players' parking lots, that sort of thing.

Knowing the Sox they will go after Ponson. Kenny has wanted him for awhile now. CWSOX45 And from whats been mentioned Ponson would be pretty happy in Chicago. KW has wanted him for a while. He'll be happier where a team is serious about winning. I think we'll know if the Sox are serious about winning soon enough. If they sign a guy like Cito to be their coach than I think we could have a lot of potential free agents interested in coming to the White Sox.
