  1. Really the only team that failed too distinguish itself was Minnesota! Damn shame.
  2. Wow, I'm usually not in the minority on these things. Winning the division would be a celebration, and I still haven't seen a postseason home victory - none of us has since 1959 - and I'd like to see that. Losing and having to go home always sucks, whenever it happens, but getting so close to the Series, I think it would be preferable to CHOKING AGAINST THE f***ING TWINS! AGAIN!
  3. I wasn't scared they'd win the World Series, but I was really worried about them just getting into the Series. Even as late as the Alou homer in game 7, I figured they were gonna make it, and that would have been terrible for all Sox fans. In the Series I thought the Cubs would have had a better chance against the Bosox than the Yankees. But Cub nation would never have let us forget "We made the Series, we support our team, and like, you suck!"
  4. I remember him. One of his first games, against the Tigers, I think, he hit the ball real hard, and I was optimistic about him. Oh well.... Anybody remember Rusty Kuntz? Who could forget a guy with a name like that? If I'm not mistaken, isn't he currently a coach with the Expos? The Pirates, actually. BTW, Rusty got a World Series Ring with the 84 Tigers.

  6. mooch, have you read the thread called "Blame Dusty"? Dusty gets you there, but in getting you there, he leaves your best pitchers exhausted. Now I'll grant that I wished we were in the playoffs, but with the last two playoffs as evidence, I think Dusty got some splaining to do.
  7. The Trib had "The bleat goes on" inside the paper.
  8. Haha, I sometimes make animations with Paint and GIF Animator, I could give it a shot. It sounds like it'd be fun! I would suggest Bartman riding away with the trophy on a goat.
  9. Beckett stepped up big time, but I can't say anything bad about Mark Prior. Wood is not in Prior's class, however. Could be a classic game tonight. I hope both pitchers are on their game.
  10. I'm sure Florida is just looking for ways to unload Cabrera.
  11. He's the Man Without A Team! I feel bad for him. Imagine going to a ballgame and thinking, Gee tomorrow I have to issue a PRESS RELEASE!
  12. As an alternative lyric: And the three things I admire most, Santo, Banks and that Goddamn goat
  13. Now that's something I'll never be able to say.
  14. I hope it takes another 95 years for the Cubs to get this close again. :fthecubs
  15. We should come up with a title for the Cubs' highlight film. I just happen to have one to offer: "The 2003 Cubs: In Dusty We Busty!"
  16. The Deacon did something that's pretty rare. He hit a pinch hit home run in the bottom of the 10th in the playoffs, that didn't mean a damn thing. We still lost the final game of the 1993 playoffs.
  17. Hell yes! It's a large part of what being a Sox fan is all about. After being fed Cub fan s*** all year, suddenly there's a much better taste in our mouths.
  18. They were teammates from 1981-1985 on the Mets, lending credence to the story...Even if it was innocent fun (which is a stretch) it shows horrible judgment, and I'd fire his ass. I'd also make it clear why.
