That 2-1 loss yesterday had to be the most frustrating, heartbreaking Cubs game ever. But I thought the female umpire joke (and that's all it was) was funny.

Cheap save for Leasure but deserved. Great pitches to a good hitter. Now they’ll trade him for an older mediocre power bat. 😫

There's times to swing for the fences and times to try and advance runners. That's why they have a manager to explain this to his players.

Only one to blame here is Sosa himself. If a geezer like me sitting on a sofa knows the rules he has to. I’m not a fan of public humiliation but I’d have yanked him right there. Wondering if the Cubs let that drop on purpose to see if they could find a dope? But I love the way he goes back on a pop fly and the RF’s know it and defer to him. Sit him down next game.

If Plesac put a sock in it once in a while he’d still be irritating. But less so.

Cubs regulars are bad enough. Team's just fine though. They have captured my interest. Plesac's irritating and talks much too much. Stay away.

Santiago’s was eventually converted to a changeup. But he was the last IIRC. Two seamer has a similar break.

Which manager (Red Sox) would change his rotation if a curve baller was set for the day certain umpires were working home plate?

Taylor will need more than that flat fastball over the long run, 100+ or not. They were all over it. Luckily he has other pitches and good ones.
