  1. Lost the game for them. Along with the other things he failed at today. Zach, they’re hiring at Home Depot.
  2. Close to 100 percent probability. Timing is everything.
  3. Was going to bat Nellie Fox second but he’s not on the roster.
  4. Gone first was the venerable Sam Smith then KC Johnson and the paper hired Julia who's working for a fraction of what the other two made in the budget conscious halls of what used to be the Tribune. Nice of the Bulls to provide employment for the two guys. She's an OK writer, don't get me wrong, but she's likely getting paid coolie wages.
  5. I read the story. It’s the theory of Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report! So it must be true! ?
  6. When he throws 100+, he can’t control it. When he throws 96 it gets hit. And he’s a flake. I admit I still care enough to be mad about today’s flop.
  7. He had control of the fastball unlike his last outing but was low in the zone with it and high is better. Will it last? Time will tell. He has the tools.
  8. Belle is the exception that proves the rule.
  9. I’m the guy who keeps posting this, but you keep bringing in new bozos to replace the old bozos until you find the ones that suck the least.
  10. Can’t control the fastball. That’s his big pitch. I liked the one yesterday where after the usual two walks Katz came out to talk to him and the next pitch would have made the backstop if Maldonado hadn't got a piece of it.
  11. If what's his name is closer material I'm the Mahatma of Mundelein. 9th inning from hell. Blame Katz for not fixing him. He's all I got.
  12. Nice story on Schriffen in Chicago Magazine this month. https://www.chicagomag.com/chicago-magazine/may-2024/meet-the-new-voice-of-the-white-sox/
  13. How many day is it since Eloy was thrown out at third on the exact same fly ball? So he was reluctant to run. Shoulda been pinch run for, I agree.
  14. Add Keppinger to the list but it doesn't fit the narrative so it can't be true around this place. To be serious for a sec, what's the proper play on that ball hit to Ramos in the 10th? Even if the throw home is on target, do you risk a throw to first? IMO what Ramos should have done is take a step toward the runner on 3rd to force him to commit and if he returned to the base, throw to first, not second. If Goldschmidt played by the book and headed home, start the rundown. Either way, some ballsy pitching to get the win, thx CJ.
  15. A reliever need two reliable pitches. Kopech has none.
  16. Reminds of when the Wheeler money went to lesser talent as the wheels went off the track. That was the one that started the dominoes falling over IMO. Can’t blame management either. It’s the exception that proves the Sox rule about long term contracts for pitchers.
  17. Usually no command, not even of the fast ball. Has to keep it high and near the strike zone because the hitters sit on it, since the breaking ball command isn't there. Needs to settle on one breaking pitch since he's now a two inning guy at most. Not closer material until he gets it figured out. Tell me more. ?
  18. We are officially Good For What Ails You.
  19. These bozos are placeholders and nothing more. The big question is about what if anything is going on down below. I have big doubts.
  20. Fedde was filthy last out. I'll be watching for the same today. Best stuff on the team, IMO.
  21. Equally amazed at who signed him. A team that’s supposed to know talent.
  22. And Kopech's had two. Pedro was going to put in Mariano Rivera but he's not on the team. His fast ball was humming, but batters sit on it and hit it. Credit to him for using the slider more tonight.
  23. I should have mentioned that he was an inept reliever here, wound up in Pittsburgh, added a pitch and became the hottest reliever in the NL.
  24. AV plays the outfield like Lamar Johnson.
