  1. This wisdom appears around here every few years and he never sells the team. Gotta be right sometime, law of averages or something like that.
  2. Kopeck: The least valuable coin of Imperial Russia. 1/100 of a ruble. Kopek (French): Something of little value. Colas reminds me of Colace, a stool softener medication, if you don't know it.
  3. Back to AAA where he had some success to get his confidence back. It's Getz, all right. Might help, might not. Either way the Earth will keep spinning on its axis.
  4. Not a bad way to use Santos to get him back some confidence in G1. Who to blame?
  5. This is for just after a match and just before dancing the night away with the dollies (Polish barmaids). Just for the record, these bozos they’re sending to the mound are better than the starters they began the season with.
  6. What Graveman should have been and on the cheap. Too late to matter.
  7. If Hendriks is himself, he saves 20 of those blown saves and the Sox win those games. Where does that put the team's record under Grifol? At least you mentioned him which correctly places the blame for 20 or so losses. Not that I think Grifol is any good, but the bullpen is making him look bad, not the other way around.
  8. The sign came down when the Cubs complained so don't make a federal case out of it. Besides, the south side allows billboards too (other than Lerner and Rowe), so they were just asking for trouble.
  9. He wanted to put in Mariano Rivera but he's not on the team. Dumb manager.😄
  10. There was a time when they started sitting on his changeup and he began to use the slider more, with success.
  11. You look at the bullpen and come up with better choices than him. News Flash: They all suck. Not that I don't agree with you otherwise.
  12. The 10 game streak was a sign to me that he'd already lost them. Fast worker.
  13. Katz may know the mechanics of throwing a baseball but not much else about the game. The walk rate of our pitchers doesn’t say a lot for his coaching. But he does appear about 20 pounds lighter as a result of his frequent trips to the mound. Time for a change.
  14. Touki gives you an honest day's work, prolly carries a lunch pail. Mediocre, which means neither good nor bad, describes him. More than you can say for a bunch of others. Sox have paid 8 digits and gotten the same results.
  15. Good assessment. They spend plenty but in the wrong places because of incompetent management. If I were JR I'd be livid. But don't let it affect the standard narrative that they won't spend. JR must see something in Getz that sets him apart from KW/RH. It's fair to say that none of the rest of us see it. In his own mind, he's still smarter than everyone else.
  16. Takes the ball every five days and gives you a chance. Only Clevinger does the same. Touki tries. Cease and Kopech? Tail end of the rotation inconsistency. But I think Cease has tweaked something in his arm.
  17. Hate to call him the Ace of he staff, but he gives you a genuine chance every time he takes the ball. If he's not in jail, he deserves to be here. Let he who is without sin...
  18. Stone might be a good advisor to JR. Not a GM candidate, but he checks my boxes on knowing the game and its people and having JR's ear. Hope he's part of the mix.
  19. So many possibilities. Not that they would be the hire, but who's advising Jerry? Hawk? Thome? AJ? Pat Fitzgerald? Does Jerry know enough about the game to identify the gem we need? As long as it's not internal.
  20. Is he still paying Ricky? Who looks better and better every day. In retrospect, of course.
  21. JR? Midseason? To guys he thinks of as family? Man, he must be one pissed off 87 year old. So it's not only us who are livid about the incompetence we see. Good for you, ya old Dodgers fan. I can't believe this!
  22. 87 years old and knows he'll never get to the promised land before he croaks... There's merit in your post. Time for him and the rest of us to face reality. And he did buy land on the west side recently. And Nashville is a great town. Music, barbecue, weather. Great place to live and work. Wouldn't blame him if he did, but then he has to unload the Bulls too.
  23. Eureka! We have found the consultant we need, someone with a record of success. Fitz!
