  1. Hendriks looks so much better when he has more than one pitch going. The slider was working today. Don't forget to bring it along next game, Liam.
  2. That would be too much like the losing politicians taking analyst jobs on TV to criticize the winners. Except this would be uglier. I'd avoid listening to it.
  3. If Grandal wants to play offense with half a field, what's the defense supposed to do? Yas has to adjust. The old "Where's he gonna play" story. An embarrassment of riches.
  4. If anyone enjoys watching Alex Colome pitch, then they enjoy rain delays. At least Hendriks throws the ball fairly frequently.?
  5. Making bigtime sense here, just 'cuz it's so, so true. Not going to get an audience from the "You always get what you pay for" crowd, but it's still true. You and I must belong to the "You always get what you pay for, except when you don't get what you pay for" crowd. Remember when the bozo we called Juan Disgusto added a new pitch and became the hottest reliever in the NL? RP's are a tricky bunch to evaluate.
  6. Take it back to G2 and 3 of the 2020 playoffs. He gets a hit in either one and it's a different world.
  7. It wasn't even a safety squeeze because he didn't take off as soon as the bunt hit the ground, but delayed until the fielder tuned to first base. Good baserunning. Wears #1, reminds me of Lance Johnson in the 9 hole.
  8. A big part of his "bad luck" is that he's hitting into half of a baseball diamond covered by four infielders. I'm not being sarcastic here, but I don't know if the advanced stats consider that. OK, I am a Neanderthal. ?
  9. If this is supposed to make me think that a .130 hitter is good, it isn't working. So call me a Neanderthal. ?
  10. Exactly what I was thinking. Tony watched Grandal bunt during spring training and knew that he could, two sac bunts for his career be damned. A few of our bunting bozos could take a lesson from Yas. More importantly, this thread has degenerated into The Big Bunting Argument Revisited, which is why I love White Sox fans in general and you guys in particular.
  11. Took the bat out of Yermin's hands. Took the DP out of a .130 hitter's hands. You choose. Don't get technical with me by asking what a .130 hitter's doing in the lineup. ?
  12. Francona too. Big noses a problem?
  13. Did you notice that the change was almost straight? In the past it's had wicked left to right movement. Maybe that's the difference. I'll grant you that pitch location was a minor part of the problem today.
  14. Lotta cheap shots at Eloy for a Vaughn thread. His routes weren't that bad. All right, coming in on a short ball you may have a point.
  15. If Coach Katz can get this waste of talent (Burdi) straightened out he is truly a miracle worker. I'll believe it when I see it.
  16. The changeup is a big new asset. Stoney and I were both calling for it on the slider that became a HBP. Shoulda, woulda....
  17. I did get a good laugh or two out of Williams trying to swing at high heat. My swipes are Tony are not juvenile. They are wise and mature. ?
  18. If Ricky had started the 10th with Butterfingers Crochet pitching, he'd have been accused of putting players in a position to fail.
  19. Nick was on 2B. He doesn't score on a clean fielder's choice at 2B.
  20. Golf, if measured by rounds played, had a resurgence last year, fueled by pandemic related safety concerns.
  21. Hammies can linger. Count me as skeptical/worried.
  22. Tony's halo is still intact. No tarnish either. Ricky's horns likewise. Both have the same problem: In the end, a manager is as good as his bullpen. Gee, wasn't Ozzie a great manager in 2005 and a clown two years later? Gimme that '05 'pen and I'll be a great manager.
  23. Reminds of The La Brea Tar Pits which is The The Tar Tar Pits. What is it about California??
