Cleveland claims Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez
There was a time when they started sitting on his changeup and he began to use the slider more, with success.

9/4- Sox at Royals, 1:10
You look at the bullpen and come up with better choices than him. News Flash: They all suck. Not that I don't agree with you otherwise.

Saturday night baseball gamethread...anyone?? Detroit @ Sox
The 10 game streak was a sign to me that he'd already lost them. Fast worker.

9/1 Gamethread Toussaint v. Rodriguez
Katz may know the mechanics of throwing a baseball but not much else about the game. The walk rate of our pitchers doesn’t say a lot for his coaching. But he does appear about 20 pounds lighter as a result of his frequent trips to the mound. Time for a change.

9/1 Gamethread Toussaint v. Rodriguez
Touki gives you an honest day's work, prolly carries a lunch pail. Mediocre, which means neither good nor bad, describes him. More than you can say for a bunch of others. Sox have paid 8 digits and gotten the same results.

Patino and Rodriguez called up; Rodriguez sent back down, Remillard up

It’s official - Getz named SVP & GM
Good assessment. They spend plenty but in the wrong places because of incompetent management. If I were JR I'd be livid. But don't let it affect the standard narrative that they won't spend. JR must see something in Getz that sets him apart from KW/RH. It's fair to say that none of the rest of us see it. In his own mind, he's still smarter than everyone else.

8/29 White Sox at Orioles. 6:05, NBCSN/WMVP1000
Takes the ball every five days and gives you a chance. Only Clevinger does the same. Touki tries. Cease and Kopech? Tail end of the rotation inconsistency. But I think Cease has tweaked something in his arm.

GT 8/27: OAK @ SOX, 1:10, now I'm stuck doing another one
Hate to call him the Ace of he staff, but he gives you a genuine chance every time he takes the ball. If he's not in jail, he deserves to be here. Let he who is without sin...

8/25, 6:10 CT - White Sox vs. A's: Pedro's playing rookies on 90s night
Might be something physical. Besides Katz. Sic transit gloria.

After an exhaustive search, Getz named GM/VP
Stone might be a good advisor to JR. Not a GM candidate, but he checks my boxes on knowing the game and its people and having JR's ear. Hope he's part of the mix.

KW/Hahn - They Gone
So many possibilities. Not that they would be the hire, but who's advising Jerry? Hawk? Thome? AJ? Pat Fitzgerald? Does Jerry know enough about the game to identify the gem we need? As long as it's not internal.
-
KW/Hahn - They Gone
Is he still paying Ricky? Who looks better and better every day. In retrospect, of course.
-
KW/Hahn - They Gone
JR? Midseason? To guys he thinks of as family? Man, he must be one pissed off 87 year old. So it's not only us who are livid about the incompetence we see. Good for you, ya old Dodgers fan. I can't believe this!

Reinsdorf considers moving White Sox out of Guaranteed Rate Field or selling team
87 years old and knows he'll never get to the promised land before he croaks... There's merit in your post. Time for him and the rest of us to face reality. And he did buy land on the west side recently. And Nashville is a great town. Music, barbecue, weather. Great place to live and work. Wouldn't blame him if he did, but then he has to unload the Bulls too.

Sox conducting internal interviews to see if dramatic changes are needed
Eureka! We have found the consultant we need, someone with a record of success. Fitz!

Sox conducting internal interviews to see if dramatic changes are needed
That would mean that he's the cause of everything but not responsible for anything. Now I get it.

8/15/23 - White Sox over Cubs 5-3, you can put it on the board, YES!!!
Almost forgot Stone's usual blather about the run they scored in the 9th off Alzolay being due to using a closer in a non-save situation because the adrenalin doesn't kick in in a one run game with the playoffs on the line. Say this drivel before it happens, Steve, instead of waiting until after and you might have a little more believability. You're getting tiresome.

Jeff Loria goes after Mark Buehrle, Jeter, others
Wish this was true but unprovoked attacks occur. Nature of the beast. Centuries of breeding. Get a Rottie. All they’ll do is lick you into a happy submission.

Jeff Loria goes after Mark Buehrle, Jeter, others
True, until they rip your face off for no reason at all. Or maybe they won’t, good for you.

$75M = One of the worst White Sox LF Seasons
Singles hitting LF, big Sox prospect, wound up with the Cubs after staying on Square One here. Wasn't much better there. Like Andrew, thus the comparison.

$75M = One of the worst White Sox LF Seasons
I'm pretty sure there have been cash calls over the years, but I don't know about a payout. Nor do I know if there's a market for the shares. You'd be the one to know an insider. When the Big Moment comes, they'll all have done very well, for certain. But that doesn't buy a hot dog and a root beer at Portillo's for lunch tomorrow..
