I didn't say he wasn't a sentimental old guy who doesn't know how to talk to people. And I don't ignore the bullshit and there was plenty of that. But neither can you dismiss the facts which don't support your fixed idea.

This contradicts the Jerry I saw bawling at LaSalle and Wacker when Konerko handed him the WS game winning ball in 2005. Short memory?
  3. On life support but it feels good compared to the alternative. News flash: They're better than us. But don't stop hoping.
  4. I love his game, but he's hardly a parallel player to Zo.
  5. Wouldn't have been the first 8-2 lead they blew this year. But Joe K does have wicked stuff.
  6. My AM paper quotes the guy himself as saying he's through. I'll take his word for it. Avoid at all costs.
  7. Lorenzocaine. Always sounded like something you rub on a sore arm. Or whatever.
  8. As a loooong time Bulls follower, I'm trying to go at it from the opposite direction and concentrate on the ones who had players performing over their heads. Motta, Collins, Jackson, Thibs? Lotta mediocrity and worse on the list of also rans. Scott Skiles was OK for a while but not in the top four. At least he had a clue.
  9. Tony's strategy seems to be to give some one with a history extra time to find himself. Can't say I disagree with him, but on the basis of the here and now, Engel is more likely to make some solid contact. Yoan's gotta show me something, and soon. He's killing the team.
  10. IIRC, that cheap HR was his first in a month, so he wasn't the same long before Tony called him out.
  11. Tony wanted to put in Josh Hader but he wasn't on the team. Breaking news: It's not Tony, it's the bullpen.
  12. The old adage is that great bullpens make great managers. Ya think the opposite might be true too?
  13. Just a thought, I was looking at a YouTube video of nasty pitches and Dallas (as an Astro) threw the wickedest changeup with screwball movement that I ever saw. His performance here had to be because he couldn't use the stickum any more. If only Wheeler had taken our money he would have been somebody else's problem.
  14. I've long felt we need more stretching and less muscle building, so yoga's the ticket.
  15. That's the new way to close out a game. Milk the clock and then shoot a three for the last 5 minutes.
  16. Abreu was 0 for 20 during the May run of record heat in Chicago.
  17. Also has a bunch of lettuce to ease the pain. Might be a knuckleball away from a comeback for the ages. 😀
  18. I'm not saying that I or any of us would do it, but understanding that taunting can be a pretty rough sports tradition, if Tim truly compared himself to an American icon like Jackie Robinson, could he be inviting this sort of thing? Or is it only racism because of the ethnicities involved?
  19. I'm not guaranteeing a loss, but Cortes was masterful his last time against us. Gotta make some solid contact today, for starters.
  20. If you hop on the Red Line in the Loop, make sure you get on the car that all the other Sox fans are getting on.
  21. KC scoring as much as our guys for the season and our hitting coach is still here.
  22. On the only centered fastball of the inning? Coincidence? Even Gordon remarked about his flat fastball. Liam is as good as his breaking stuff. Ball don't lie. Thanks Stacey King.
