  1. Big NBA fan here, not expecting much from our guys, softened my opinion on the FO cuz I'm giving them a break on Lonzo. Things might be different if he was 100%. Same as last season, still need a PG, rim protection and three point shooters to space the floor. Coach D hasn't impressed me that much either. If anyone is interested: Who would you rather have in the middle for this team, Vuc or Ayton?
  2. That last TD throw was in exactly the right place where the defender had no chance to get at the ball. Pinpoint accuracy or luck? I'm not sure. I still have questions about his seeing the field and not showing escapability in the pocket, but this one was sort of fun. For sure he's shed any reputation as inaccurate. I'm happy for him, he's a really nice kid.
  3. Whole lotta time spent speculating about bad football. Go read a book you guys.?
  4. If Sheets was a legit LH power bat, he would be tolerable in the OF. But he isn't and is regressing to boot. Vaughn fuhgetaboutit.
  5. How do Elvis's numbers compare to Tim's? Short-term solution, yes.
  6. My old paywall hack still works. The story appears for a second or so before the paywall takes over. If in that time you're lucky enough to hit control-P, the story will show up in the print preview window and you can read it there or print it first. Only works on a desktop computer though.
  7. It was an earlier game, I think against the Brewers at County Stadium. They beat the Giants in G 163.
  8. Paywall protected but just from the headline I'm guessing Chris doesn't want to say what's on his mind until the last game is played and it's not looking good for Tim.
  9. Brant Brown dropped the ball. Suzuki didn't even get a glove on his. Sizemore's hit him in the thigh. Lost it in the sun cuz the weather god was on our side. Hurricane Rita veered east and the sun came out in KC that day. Remember the radio call? BIG VOICE: BRANT BROWNNNN ... DROPS THE BALL! little voice Oh no! BIG VOICE: HE DROPS THE BALL. little voice: noooooooooooo! Just remembered. Cubs made the playoffs that year.
  10. Home Depot is hiring. Pathetic Trayce can join him.
  11. This one has legs, likely to be around for a long time. Didn't even touch the ball. At least Bartman got a glove on his.
  12. At least this time the base he stole had meaning. Last time he hurt himself it was stealing third with two outs just to chase stats. Do they have a sliding instructor?
  13. Spot on. But sad because he's a nice kid. He'd be great in a single wing offense. Three years proving what we already knew: That you can't teach instincts. Think of all the time we're going to have on Sundays to enjoy the beautiful fall weather without worrying about the Bears.
  14. Median life expectancy for an 87 year old US male is 5.12 years. Less than overwhelming odds of passing on for JR.
  15. Exciting local football today as NU rallied from 21 down in the 4th period to beat Minnesota in OT. That will take care of exciting local football for the weekend. See, there is life after Fitz. More wins than last season already.
  16. Off topic, but I gotta grudgingly give Katz some credit for how these dumpster pickups have taken the ball without embarrassing the team.
  17. Where was this when Cease was blowing 6 run leads? Still, a great game to watch especially the mighty HR. Serves them right for having weird dimensions.
  18. They spent the majority of this season proving that money can't fix a bullpen.
  19. Can I have an arrow too? Seriously, I thought you'd like it.
  20. Grifol's at fault. Gets on the bullpen phone and asks for Mariano and they keep sending Bummer. Or worse. ?
  21. Great stuff. Somebody is gonna turn him around, but not without changing his pitching motion. Prolly not here.
  22. Rent don't buy. And I'll help him pack. New blood, new ideas. Might work wonders, might not, but at least it's not the same old same old. We're gonna need patience. Don't expect to compete next year. Don't worry about Jerry. This will cost him less than washed up eight digit guys. He'll be in hog heaven.
  23. Montreal White Sox. Has a certain ring to it. ? How come no one mentions the Brewers acting like they have Milwaukee by the unmentionables? And of course Jerry just buying land on the near west side? He's not moving the Sox to another city. If he did he'd have to sell the Bulls who are a cash cow and he's not selling the Bulls. He only tried to move them once, unlike our hero Veeck, who tried to move them twice. It'll keep us interested over the long winter and that's good.
  24. Not a lot to choose between these bozos and the starting pitchers who pissed the season away.
  25. He wasn't shy about spending far too much on bad bullpen guys. Something's wrong here. Best thing I can say for Tanner Banks as a closer is that he didn't look afraid to throw the ball.
