A 2010 ESPN survey showed that 22% of major league ballplayers asked identified Hernández as the worst umpire in the major leagues.

He was the worst MLB ump in my life time. He was the only ump I checked to see before games if he was umpiring. He was the gold standard of bad umpiring. Good riddance.
