  1. Still need to put the ball in play and hope all those atom balls from game 1 don't find a fielder in game 4. The guy has wicked stuff and great control of it. Maybe Roger Bossard can do some magic with the infield. 😁
  2. Cease has made progress over the course of this season. It's too soon to give up on him if he does the same thing the game 1 and 2 starters did, and there's no discussion about keeping them. The gamblers have this game as pretty close to even money, from the numbers I saw.
  3. You nailed it. They need some taller defenders. Hoping for Tony Bradley to fill the hole, but not active tonight. I mean, when you're talking DeRozan at the 4.... he's 6'6" for pete's sake! I hope he has a great season. Had his heart cut out by Toronto trading him away. They don't care, a one year rental of Kawhi won them a title.
  4. Nice to see anyway, since bad football isn't my thing. More laffs from Stacey already than a week of Stone and Benetti.
  5. You know, at the time it was made, there was plenty of intelligence pointing to MItch as the best of the three, as a Tribune story pointed out. And he looked great against the Bears just this season. But he can't throw the deep ball and Fields seems to be able to. Side note: I was in Queretaro a long time ago and remember it as a retirement haven for Yankees. Is it still?
  6. Comparing anything to he clueless Trubisky on the deep ball should be illegal. 😁
  7. Too much "funny" isn't always a good thing, esp. when it isn't funny. Same for the two clowns on the postgamer. Humor is funniest when it's a surprise. With these guys it's constant.
  8. He wasn't an athlete, fer sure. Best passer on the team, nice hands on defense, shot the three a little bit. Overall no loss, you're right. But I liked him for no reason at all.
  9. But look at Arozarena who had it last year and raked in the playoffs. COVID's strange stuff.
  10. Denzel signed with CLE for cheap non-guaranteed money. I always liked the guy, hope he gets some playing time and can continue his career. In the USA, of course. Oh well. if not he's already made 5 times what I did in my working life. Good luck, kid.
  11. Lots of good video on YouTube about him. Everything he shoots is under the basket thus the shooting %. He looks like just what you said.
  12. Apparently Tony Bradley is their "Ibaka type." I don't know him. Any good, if someone who is familiar with him sees this?
  13. This makes sense to me, except for the assumption about the walk rate decline. But he does look like a different pitcher and I like it. While it lasts.
  14. I was hoping for an Ibaka type to do the frontcourt things that Vucevic can't do and this guy is 6'7". The signing can't hurt, I guess.
  15. He's in that mode of his where he forgets how to take an outside pitch to RF, tries to pull them and hits grounders to the shortstop. Most maddening big RBI guy I've ever seen. Makes you wonder about the value of the RBI stat.
  16. Home plate umpire took away a strikeout from him, cost him and us a run. Same bozo made up for it on the final out with two strike calls on balls way outside the zone. Home plate umpires: lower on the humanity scale than lawyers and war criminals.
  17. Memories of 2000. Gandhi (Jerry Manuel) in a beanball war. I love baseball.
  18. Fan base was praying for a month that the cute new QB would fix all that was wrong with the offense and offensive personnel. It's what football fans do. Dumasses. If we're lucky, we'll have White Sox baseball to hold our interest for another 5 weeks. Then count the days until pitchers and catchers report. Don't waste your time on the Bears. Get a reading list. Join a film review group. Take up a hobby.
  19. A manager's job is to make it gel. If you're looking for a reason, that's the place to start. No offense to Tony, I'm talking in general. Reason two is that fans like us tend to overvalue their own players.
  20. More than a germ of truth in there. The 2020 group may have been a bit better at advancing runners when needed.
  21. It would require divine intervention based on what I just saw.
  22. He's not getting that contract if any team, us included, looks at those fastball speed numbers. He can say what he wants. Didn't he say that he wants to come back here not that long ago? Knowing that Boras wouldn't have wanted him to say it? He'll get short years, hopefully not here.
  23. Talent? In our minor league system? I'm not used to it yet, but I can learn.
  24. I love his glove. Eclipses Nicky by far. His bat has to improve just a little to give them enough reason to sign him. Betcha they do.
