  1. If returnable kickoffs and a field goal that fell short cost them the game, that's two in a row for Cairo Santos.
  2. Might be some movement of those three names and soon, two of them anyway. Zach needs more time to get his shot going and is likely not tradeable anyway. They're a badly constructed bunch and playing like it.
  3. Trigger happy and not that smart mods, especially on the old board. If they parsed something as controversial, even if it wasn't, you were banned. This site makes a poster feel free and we seem to be acting like rational Sox fans and getting along.
  4. I don't totally believe this, but he could be doing it BECAUSE of the bad O-line and WR group. Either way, one really good hit and he's a different guy.
  5. Situation normal. I've endured a lifetime of it. You too? Who can forget that magic moment. It's not a defense, but he and EE were both drunk and looked it, prolly from a sip of bubbly.
  6. That's what I remember. Great trade. Jaime needed a third pitch, among other things. Fastball, slider and nothing else of any use. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  7. At crunch time, outcoached, outdefended, outexecuted. Ugly but entertaining slop.
  8. Lauri wanted more than he was worth. Strus bothers the hell out of me too.
  9. More hustle than the next three guys and a great attitude. Whole lotta other guys I'd rather wave goodbye to. But, it's true the production could have been better.
  10. You're right but I coulda sworn he was bigger. I also didn't remember how awful his passing stats were. Fields has already surpassed that level, but still overthrows some. If these coaches can get him fixed, it's an indictment of the last Bears' staff and his college coaching.
  11. He does evoke memories of Bobby Douglas, as the radio booth kept telling us. But Bobby never took that final step as a passer. It's not for sure that Fields will, but at least he's gotten this far. Running so much increases the chance that he'll get broken in half by some bozo and he's not an oak tree like Bobby was, but keep the faith.
  12. Spring Training will be of really big importance in 2023. Didn't you feel TLR just let them do it on their own in 2022? Gotta instill a new culture in these mopes.
  13. I take it that you manage people somewhere? Look, your approach worked for Cairo, for about a week. Long term, ass kicking gets stale real fast. It's 2022, not 1922.
  14. Might not be 100% right, but far from wrong. Look at the roster. Midgets at PF and not enough three point shooting to play the modern NBA game. Can't complain about tonight's game, though. A lot of it was the "Celts suddenly can't make an open shot for some reason" defense.
  15. Remember when Veeck took over the club the second time and Ron Schuler was under contract as a pitcher but couldn't pitch any more so Veeck made him pitching coach to save a few bucks? Are you ready for Manager Leury Garcia? (don't have kittens, it's a joke)
  16. Dragic still has quickness, hits the three. That's good. Slovenian, in the north of former Yugoslavia, good balance to the two Montenegrins on the roster. That was in the extreme south of the country. Drummond gets you the ball, that's good too. Javonte Green, 6'4" and still clearly better than the #4 draft choice, Williams, useless inside or outside. Three point shooting looks better, essential to keeping defenses off out mid range guys. Sox not in season, Bears boring and I don't do hockey, so keep me entertained, guys.
  17. He lost me when he said he was bringing swag.
  18. This is the definition of a rhetorical question. Didn't W. C. Fields once say "I'd rather be in Philadelphia?"
  19. You're blaming him for Wheeler?
  20. On the Bulls game last night, Jason teamed with Stacey King. He's better at basketball than he is at baseball and while we're at it, he's better than Adam Amin. Ah, Stacey makes everyone better. The humor between him and Jason was genuine and funny, as was the laughter. Adam Amin is good at quoting statistics. Otherwise, the best I can say is that he's no worse than mediocre.
  21. Got a Konerko type right here, right now. Managerial potential? I don't know Jose, other than what I see on the field. Ross was a catcher and a grandpa figure to the players. Advantage them. This board, like all the other fan boards, has the tendency to explode over hangnails.
  22. Cubs had a real nice post-ASG under David Ross and developed some fine young pitching. Good hire and a first timer to boot. Better FO and owners than the Sox? You know the answer.
  23. Shoulda stayed with Ricky but he acted sort of nutty right before the playoffs and Reinsy had an itch you know where for the guy that was eating on his mind since godknowswhen and we just wasted two years. Let me echo what I see here for a younger smarter guy.
  24. Rooney wanted to go to St. Louis really badly. The first time the job was open, the Sox enforced his contract and made him stay against his will. When he finally did go, his contract was up for renewal so he wasn't encumbered. You're spot on about Jason vis a vis baseball and football. Rooney? Couldn't draw a picture with words like the great ones can. I know I'm in the minority around here.
  25. I last heard him with Kasper. He's getting there. I'm not sure he needs drawing out, since his early problem was yapping too much.
