  1. Also has a bunch of lettuce to ease the pain. Might be a knuckleball away from a comeback for the ages. ?
  2. I'm not saying that I or any of us would do it, but understanding that taunting can be a pretty rough sports tradition, if Tim truly compared himself to an American icon like Jackie Robinson, could he be inviting this sort of thing? Or is it only racism because of the ethnicities involved?
  3. I'm not guaranteeing a loss, but Cortes was masterful his last time against us. Gotta make some solid contact today, for starters.
  4. If you hop on the Red Line in the Loop, make sure you get on the car that all the other Sox fans are getting on.
  5. KC scoring as much as our guys for the season and our hitting coach is still here.
  6. On the only centered fastball of the inning? Coincidence? Even Gordon remarked about his flat fastball. Liam is as good as his breaking stuff. Ball don't lie. Thanks Stacey King.
  7. The ones he threw were either on the corners or bait pitches out of the strike zone.
  8. S'why we all love him. Seriously, he did 5 shoutout innings with his junk stuff, which should make all of us happy. The three walks are only an indication that he tries and needs to paint the corners They worry me less than Hendriks's close to zero walks which tell me that he throws everything down the middle. I thought that would get him beat last night and it almost did, esp. since he was near 100% of his flat fastball.
  9. He didn't really get hit hard tonight. Has great stuff, Lets see how he does against a lesser opponent.
  10. Don't throw cookies to a hot hitter is the lesson to be learned. Beaning? Not gonna happen. We have guys who celebrate too much and so does most every other team. TLR does nothing to rein our guys in.
  11. Yoan hasn't been the same since he had the COVID. He has taken a lot of walks, but his power stroke is missing. The virus has long term effects on some who are infected with it. Let's hope he's really over it now.
  12. Missed the opportunity to get Hendriks 6 saves in 6 games (with an off day between #3 and #4). Remember when Addison Reed did just that 8 years ago or so? Close games are fun but so are blowouts. And easier on the old ticker.
  13. Preaching to the choir here. Everything he throws has movement and he's some good coaching away from being a solid starter. You can see his confidence and command growing.
  14. Eye of the beholder, I guess. Those constant attempts at high wit you call banter drive me nuts. Stone's irritating, but I learned a lot of baseball from him so I'll give him a pass.
  15. He wasn't a $15M closer, far from it. Learnt the cutter from Mariano, supposedly, but his best pitch for us was the curve. He was OK, but not for $15M.
  16. Politte. On Hendriks, the slider is the key. He can't get by on 98 with no movement alone.
  17. I remember some nuns showing me to a space in a lot they ran near the ballpark, maybe 20 years ago, but I couldn't find it today on a bet. I've been there since the rebuild, but parked remotely.
  18. Bevington had more life than Lamont. Just sayin'.
  19. Credit to Chris Bosio for Arrieta, but Bosio is out of baseball for possibly having made a racist remark. One great pitching coach, but too radioactive to handle in today's world.
  20. He's got the stuff that Aces are made of. He needs to be coached up right. If anyone thinks our pitching coach is a miracle worker (not I) here's his chance to prove it.
  21. Not really a test if he can't get a breaking pitch near the strike zone. But he's fixable. Katz is the guru, so hope he does his stuff.
  22. Landed with his heel on top of the bag and his toes on the ground. He never learned that the fastest and safest way to first is to land on the front part of the bag. He's still my favorite Sox of the moment and it could have been worse than 6-8 weeks.
  23. Thirty pounds overweight adds to the problem.
  24. May wanna forfeit a game to avoid a sweep.
