  1. It's all on Craig and Baez is gonna get a street named after him in Lincoln Park because of it. Maybe the Park too. Why did the damn fool throw it home?
  2. I listened to Stone on the replay and he said that Liam lost control of the slider on balls 2 and 3 and didn't go back to it for that reason. Last night I was "listening" with the sound off.
  3. After making Jose look sick on low stuff out of the zone the last AB, throws him a high slider that wound up flirting with the concourse. Duh. Speaking of a slider, Hendriks could have used one that last AB as Edman fouled off a ton of 4 seamers.
  4. What's the old cliche? Flaherty will get you nowhere. Yeah, that's it. Gotta start sorting out the bullpen, bringing in some new arms. Some of these guys have MLB stuff but aren't ready to pitch up here. They have options galore. TA, whom I congratulated last night for going oppo to bust out of a slump was back to pulling outside pitches and grounding out to the left side. Listen to us for once, Timmy.
  5. Big boppers left the game on the bases. Oh well, it is 5-0.
  6. Talk about eagerly anticipated. I'm hyperventilating. I don't see a lot of crap on the radar, either, so they should get it in.
  7. Nobody would mistake our Sox for one of the top 10-12. They aren't the Cardinals or the coastal powerhouses, for sure. They paid big.
  8. Saw same, wondered like you. Could be a reaction to all the Sox money coming in.
  9. OBP never looked this invalid before. The advantage of having him bat second is if TA is on base, the 2B can't shift to short right field. The disadvantage is DP's galore. This is not what the Sox paid for. And they paid big.
  10. Not arguing about Kopech, but there were a couple solid hits off him. He can't just throw his 4 seamer down the middle. His stuff is dazzling, as you say.
  11. When you're in a slump, go the opposite way. Never gets old. I'll even forgive him for making the last out of the inning at third base by trying to advance on the throw home. Any Soxtalk poster could tell him you never make the last out at third base. While I'm ranting here. When Yermin singled on that high pitch with two strikes on him, he used his usual leg kick instead of his two-strike swing without it. Just saying.
  12. You're accurately describing a mess. Time to start bringing in arms and sorting them out.
  13. I don't think he's done one this year. Could he have gotten the memo? Or just a year older?
  14. Shoemaker threw some nasty shit himself, I'm just happy our guys were nastier. I give credit where it's due, but I'm glad we got the cash.
  15. Baffling. Innings limit for Kopech? If so, no faith in Heuer or Crochet, understandable. Why the 9th for Bummer? Again, baffling.
  16. I was equally impressed. Not exactly hoping they lose, but what the hey?
  17. Too bad they got lucky against the Cubs who played them tough but not tough enough.
  18. Gotta love guys who can run the bases. Nice to see some team speed around here. Been too rare in the past. TA, I know you're a team leader, but you should have deferred to Moncada on that popup. It was his ball. Had me thinking of a few years ago when Beckham took out the entire right side, then he pops up as an in-game analyst. Sorry to say, he's not that good at it. None of the guys on Comcast are.
  19. I'm embarrassed to say that I meant OBP. That actually makes sense. Age related dementia.
  20. I got the answer for him. Stop batting left handed. 😁 Can't hurt, might help.
  21. For sure he's making my love of the OPS stat look silly. Weakest high OPS guy I ever could imagine, to this point. Hitting? Show me any time you want, Yas.
  22. The Royals won a WS with that approach, so KC announcers would be aware of when they see it. 11 would have been a nice number, but is it crooked? Gotta feel for the nice crowd in the stands when their team is down 8 by the time they get comfy in their seats. Talk about boring.
  23. I recall Reinsdorf being against it before Navarro. He made an exception for Jaime. Sometime the owners are smarter than the people who run the team and that applies in other cities and other sports as well.
  24. Len and Jason didn't know the rule either. I wonder if Stoney did.. Either way, TLR was taking it in the rear with tornadic force on the 670 postgamer.
  25. Funny and serious at the same time. I might substitute Ditka for Yerminator, but right on the money. We have some nasty pitching.
