  5. White Sox Extra Base Leaders: 30 Jose Abreu 28 Andrew Vaughn 24 Tim Anderson White Sox Home Run Leaders: 15 Jose Abreu 14 Yasmani Grandal 10 Andrew Vaughn
  6. Andrew Vaughn is the best of the best!!!
  7. I'd trade windsock Bernstein and his partner for Joc.
  8. Phillies place four players, including today's previously slated SP Aaron Nola, on the Rona IL list. Cues Bill Burr's Philly rant.
  9. Milwaukee has four (Burnes, Hader, Peralta, Woodruff) this year.
  10. They have gone 2-13 since. Setting aside the tanking years (see below), the last time the Sox went through a stretch that bad was twice under Robin Ventura in 2013. Recent "Trying" bad stretches: 1-13 July 22- August 4, 2013 2-15 August 30 - September 15, 2013 "Tanking" bad stretches: 2-17 July 4-29, 2017 2-14 April 2-18, 2018 2-13 April 28 (Game 2) - May 16, 2018 The Chicago White Sox have never gone through a 2-18 stretch, a feat the Cubs will reach if they lose their next five games. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Chicago White Sox teams which were never under .500 (season high water mark): 1917 (48 games over .500). Manager Pants Rowland (World Series Champions) 1919 (41 games over .500). Manager Kid Gleason (American League Champions #) 1920 (39 games over .500). Manager Kid Gleason (Second Place American League) 2005 (36 games over .500). Manager Ozzie Guillen (World Series Champions) 1959 (35 games over .500). Manager Al Lopez (American League Champions) 1901 (34 games over .500) .Manager Clark Griffith (American League Champions *) 1957 (29 games over .500). Manager Al Lopez (Second Place American League) 1990 (27 games over .500). Manager Jeff Torborg (Second Place American League West) 1982 (14 games over .500). Manager Tony La Russa (Third Place American League West) * - Pre World Series Era. # - Intentionally lost the World Series
  11. To think a decade later, Bill Wirtz's organIzation was far less despicable than Rocky Wirtz's. The Wirtz family aren't going anywhere, but I sure hope fans move on in droves.
  12. It means more coming from his peers. IMO. Would have joined Abreu and Lucas last year if they had a game, not sure why he wasn't on the team the previous two seasons.
  13. And it's not only Vaughn who has picked up the OF mitt for the first time this season. Lamb is on the wrong side of 30, was able to muddle through in the corners for the first time in over a decade of pro ball. Not a good defender, but also doesn't jeopardize the health of others or himself. Sheets and Mendick able to pick up the OF as well, though Danny had more prep time preceding playing in RF, whereas it was a fire drill for Vaughn, Sheets, and Lamb. I'd say Vaughn exceeded everyone's expectations, the other two were at least as good as could possibly be expected. It would be smart to take advantage of Jose's time here next year to work with Eloy at 1B, if the team feels Eloy is an option there. Eaton was very helpful helping Sheets, and likely Lamb before leaving with RF defense. Players are influenced much more by their peers they respect than coaches, all else being equal, and Eloy definitely respects Jose.
  14. Glad you were able to see a White Sox winner, and catch a game in Baltimore. It's a great stadium. I did the same "faux pas" earlier this year, since it was unwritten and I didn't know either. Go Sox!
  15. GFY. Where the fuck did I say I was happy? I would be happy if he could stay healthy enough to contribute to the team while he still has the ability to retain his high contact rates. Just don’t believe it’s a skill that will last as he ages, that he has the frame to remain healthy long term, or that he should be bragging about 3,000 hits, which he was mocked by teammates, at this stage of his career. I was as happy watching Madrigal go down as I am reading your garbage posts and your baseless attacks.
  16. No no. Enjoy the game, but in terms of the game thread you’ll have to wait until @WhiteSoxFan1993 opens today’s game thread after the Sox won yesterday for the third consecutive game. Keep the streaks and line moving White Sox!
  17. I feel safe with Foster at this point.
  18. To be fair, his relief appearances have been dictated more by spreading out his appearances than game situation. Tied or 1 Run Games (HL); 2-3 Run Games (ML); 4+ Run Games (LL): H L H M L H L M H L H H H L High 7 Games; Mid 2 Games; Low 5 Games. And another player touted here as "platoon only" goes deep for a 3 run home run against a RHP.
  19. 2021 White Sox Doubles Leaders Andrew Vaughn 18 Tim Anderson 16 Yoan Moncada 14 Jose Abreu 13 Zach Collins 10 Looking forward to Andrew's Double Power turning to Home Run power as he gains age and experience.
  20. Vaughn with another hit, a double off another RHP.
  21. Said no one of Mark Buehrle, ever.
  22. Sheets goes yard, in front of his dad. Great day for Gavin and the White Sox!
  23. Buehrle accumulated nearly 3 times as many win shares. His similar pitchers are hall of fame / near hall of fame. Look at their peak years per JAWS, Mark 35.8 seven year peak (91st overall JAWS rank), Dallas 22.4 seven year peak (435th overall JAWS rank). @Vulture- They are not similar or same, or even close. I can't believe any Sox fan thinks Dallas Keuchel is anywhere in the same universe. The only "similarity" is they don't throw hard and they both played for the White Sox.
  24. I compared career comparable pitchers, based on the argument "they are the same pitchers". One has a bWAR three times as high, they are nowhere close to being the same pitcher.
  25. Yes, another reason Keuchel is annoying.
