  1. I have had individuals relay stories to me personally about Boyer that I don't want to make public to expose them. Suffice it to say, Jerry is fine with Boyer and others taking the blame. However, Hawk, Jason and others have pegged the situation dealing with / working under Boyer accurately. Wouldn't go as far as to say he is John McDonough level, but that is what he aspires to be.
  2. Len likes living in Chicago. I believe Jason and during Summertime Stone Pony does as well. WMVP also paid for Len and DJ's travel in 2021, versus the higher revenue generating CSN owned by Jerry, so he didn't face the same adversity broadcasting for two putrid Jerry Reinsdorf organizations. I could possibly see Len leaving if 90-100 + loss seasons remain the norm, as they were for most of the Decade of Hahn. For those with access to out of town broadcasts, Jason will return to Comiskey Park II on Opening Day 2024. Compare and contrast Jason's comments about the Detroit interview process and comments he had regarding dealing with Brooks Boyer. https://www.wxyz.com/sports/detroit-tigers-announce-jason-benetti-as-new-tv-play-by-play-announcer
  3. OK, some good news. Len Kasper is staying on radio.
  4. He and Jerry suck ass. I don't believe it was about the money as much as it was dealing with Brooks Fucking Boyer, Jerry and all the bullshit roadblocks and unnecessary grief they threw his way during his time here, including not paying for their travel in 2021 and blaming bullshit covid for their cheap ass ways. I don't pay for garbage TV including Jerry's broadcasts and his absolute shitshow of Ozzie and Garfein in the studio, but I really hope Len did come here because he wanted to stay on radio. I really enjoy him and DJ, perhaps the primary reason I followed games first during the Tony La Russa era and then the brutal Hahn final season. If it's Connor and DJ or gasp DJ leaves, I may take some time off from Sox baseball until jerry dies, Boyer is gone, and solid broadcasters want to work here.
  5. My favorite recent Jerry / Sox t story was how they spent their time energy and analytics not to find ball players, but rather to uncover the ticket scheme by two of the 50 ticket sellers costing the team about $215k / per season pre lockdowns. https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2022/2/15/22934905/white-sox-ticket-scam-broker-bruce-lee
  6. I believe Chris Getz should have scheduled a press conference welcoming the new members of the coaching staff and his other significant FO hires, followed by his vision for the offseason, 2024 and for the next 3-5 years after having a few months to assess the situation in his new role. Then his answers to follow up questions would have context vs. people speculating what he plans to do to improve the team. Ten years of Hahn created a Chernobyl type situation. Most reasonable people are willing to give Getz slack and time if he is honest and communicates a reasonable plan and timeframe.
  7. Successful Bunts (sacrifices or for hits) appeared difficult for most White Sox over the past few years, even when they made sense (poor hitter, late inning playing for a run to win or tie).
  8. Don’t prioritize two short series over 162 games of mediocre baseball. They made the World Series as a twelve seed solely because of the ridiculous number of wild cards and the fact the Dodgers who pwned them by 16 games had an injury and domestic violence suspension depleted rotation. They did not reach the WS based on any sort of merit beyond two postseason weeks or due to their mastery and prioritization of sacrifice bunting. Would say the speed (2nd overall in stolen bases) and defense (7th overall per fan graphs) were the two modes of Ozzie Ball / Small Ball worth replicating, not the making outs on purpose aspect.
  9. Most star players have a social media person put together posts with graphics / videos. What's your point? You don't think he agrees with what was posted or didn't sign off on it? There are a good number of fans who don't hate Tim Anderson that are interested.
  10. Balta beat my by four minutes, though it seems I'm rendered to using Nitter, since Twitter doesn't display posts sequentially anymore (they are displayed by either views or likes), and I'm not registering for an account just to view tweets. The most ironic part of this is Sox ticket sales beyond Tampa should require the least amount of personnel, even accounting for the stalking and harassment of potential and former season ticket holders under Boyer's orders. They also refuse to accommodate handicapped season ticket holders despite having nearly double the number of staff who should be able to accommodate. What a sad sorry sack of s%*# organization we were consigned to root for based on birth, not merit.
  11. https://www.chicitysports.com/tim-anderson-says-farewell-in-heartfelt-post In addition to his story, Anderson also made a post on Instagram captioned “SouthSide ?”. The post consisted of a collage of pictures of Anderson throughout his career.
  12. Let’s hope he and Katz can make progress with the current staff and acquisitions.
  13. I was happy Tony looked healthy at his farewell press conference. While it was initially splendid Tony got revenge via his orchestrated coup d’etat of Hahn and Kenny, his continued involvement beyond this season is an overall net negative than if the status quo was preserved. Tony is an even more destructive force given the fact Jerry respects Tony whereas Jerry views Hahn as his toady b****. Getz will get all the blame when Tony fucks up, so works out for Tony as he won’t take the fall like he did after nuking the Arizona franchise as HOF Baseball Person Team President.
  14. Sadly, more victims are out there. Article contains graphic language of the alleged incidents. Rick Westhead has been tenacious covering the various hockey abuse issues throughout youth, juniors, minors, National teams and the NHL, including the various scandals within the Wirtz NHL Organization over the years. https://www.tsn.ca/blackhawks-accused-of-institutional-negligence-as-second-former-player-launches-suit-1.2031918
  15. Well, the Sox are still number one in this category. https://nitter.net/brendenmoore13/status/1721916513530130565#m Illinois Professional Sports License Plates 28,628 White Sox 17,308 NHL 13,154 Cubs 9,211 Bears 4,277 Bulls 4,161 Cardinals
  16. AL Central will enter another year with about a 0.1% chance of winning the World Series. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/11/twins-planning-to-reduce-payroll.html Too bad Twins fans didn't know about this scheme until their season ticket deposits were due.

  18. Daryl Boston had the same responsibilities. Serve as 1B coach on offense, and coach Vaughn, Sheets, Lamb, Eloy and others how to play RF (as if that could or should be done) They either have one or two unannounced positions, or have cut two and thus have the same number of coaches year over year. 2023 Staff Link New Assistant Pitching ^ Matt Wise Hitting Marcus Thames Assistant Hitting Mike Tosar First Base / OF Jason Bourgeois Catching # Drew Butera Major League # Grady Sizemore Same Manager Pedro Grifol Bench Charlie Montoyo Pitching Ethan Katz Third Base / Infield * Eddie Rodriguez Gone From Coaching Staff Bullpen Curt Hasler Hitting Jose Castro Assistant Hitting Chris Johnson First Base / OF Daryl Boston Positions either eliminated or to be announced: Major League Field Coordinator Mike Tosar (now Assistant Hitting Coach) Senior Director of Sports Performance Geoff Head Note ^ Called Bullpen Coach in 2023 Note # New position terms in 2024. 19. Steve Dahl was a douchebag, Jonnie B lame. Always hated The Loop. Disco Demolition wasn't a big thing until the documentaries, didn't clutch my pearls about it. Was pissed at Sparky Anderson for crying about it and getting a forfeit win. 20. 2024 is the perfect opportunity to provide opportunities, and to grab a few Rule 5 picks and perhaps other prospects via trades, and hope a couple pan out without having to worry about contending. 21. If you give Revolution Brewery owner Josh Deth a Guardians hat…
  22. I’m almost at the reverse, since I rather give 2024 opportunities to Sosa, Popeye and Gonzalez. I “signed” Amed Rosario primarily help the staff get 27 outs, and the fact that Rosario is young enough to possibly contribute in a future window. The Sox need a veteran defensive / smart catcher to catch 90 + games, hopefully help the young catchers develop and work with pitchers to develop game plans like McCann. I see Merrifield as the fourth incarnation of Cesar / Big Energy / Tiny Elvis. If it only costs money, then Perez can soak up games caught and has a reputation to help pitchers. Since they need a full time catcher, he would be cromulent for two seasons and zero extensions. I’d also be fine with two catcher duo Caratini and a scrub veteran, to get them through until Quero is ready in 2025 or 2026.
  23. I’m also excited about Drew Butera if he is being brought in to develop catchers. No word on any relation to Paul Butera, but his father is former catcher Sal Butera.
  24. Glad they are expanding the coaching staff as well. Boston covered OF, first base and baserunners last year. The overall coaching staff was contracted by IIRC 2 or 3 after Tony’s departure. Need Getz, staff and players to be on the same page. Make sure Pedro and the staff know the goal is to identify and develop talent, not the contend now bullshit said (possibly instructed to say by Hahn / Boyer) last year. Need to give guys who didn’t produce but possibly can like Colas one more legitimate chance to improve, not bring in guys to establish “clubhouse culture”, while sacrificing player development to “win now”. Start with a clean slate in AZ and go from there.
  25. Assuming the players were interested, these prices above were final (or Spotrac if not listed above). Rules: No trades for this exercise - though would likely have to couple Cease or Robert with Benintendi and or Moncada to get under $100M. Going with my projected Jerry 2024 Budget of $136M + $13M Dead $, which may be overly optimistic. Flip Severino and perhaps a Cease in July. No rush of call ups for Top AA 2023 Prospects until 2025. Try to fill in gaps, short term FAs to see what is salvageable into a possible 2026 contention team. Perhaps get a couple Shaw or Touki inning eater guys between $1.5M - $3.0M.
