  1. Is there precedent for starting a game less than 11 hours after the last one ended?
  2. Someone has to get DFA to make room for Perez. If it's an ACL for Yaz and he's not going to be back before the middle of next season, do you just DFA him rather than hold a roster spot to maybe get a couple months out of him. Are you even allowed to DFA injured players? If not, then my guess is Tobias Myers goes.
  3. This rain isn't a surprise. They knew yesterday it was coming. Should have pushed the game up to 1pm.
  4. We need to stop with this. NL players don't suck when they come to the Sox because they're NL players. They suck when they come to the Sox because the Sox suck.
  5. He won't throw a no-hitter. There will be at least one inning with three singles followed by a strikeout and a GIDP.
  6. This is why I don't put much stock in player performance this season. When nobody in the history of baseball has ever intentionally walked someone with two strikes and your manager does it twice, how motivated can you be?
  7. Maybe back on that parade day in 2005, Paul Konerko should have said, "Mr Reinsdorf, this ball is mine, but when we win our next championship that ball is yours."
  8. The amazing irony of this whole thing is that signing Cueto was both the best and worst move of the offseason. The best because of the production they've gotten for him compared to the cost, yet the worst because without him, the Sox are so far out of it that they'd likely have burned it all down by now which is what they really needed to do.
  9. If anybody listened to the analytics department, TLR is never hired as manager, so what's the point?
  10. They aren't going to non-tender Giolito. They may trade him, but they aren't just going to let him walk. As bad as he's been this year they can still get good value for him in a trade. Re-signing Abreu is fine but only if they trade Eloy. Eloy is not an outfielder but if they keep him they'll keep playing him there and he'll keep getting injured. Leury needs to be traded, even if they have to eat 90% of his contract. There are plenty of people in the org who can fill the utility role.
  11. One way to look at it is that there's no point paying analytics people if the GM and manager aren't going to listen to them anyways.
  12. I was thinking maybe they just wanted to see the defense back out on the field since the offense had the ball so much.
  13. Team LOB does not equal the total of individual LOB, as two different batters may have made outs with the same guys on base and both get credit for individual LOB but of course they don't double count for the team.
  14. If you bet on the Astros do you get paid 3:2 since they hit a blackjack?
  15. One of my parents' favorite shows. I've seen a few episodes here and there.
  16. You win! Your prize is that you get to turn today's game off and watch something else.
  17. If the Sox are going to continue to have a RH heavy lineup and hit to the opposite field, then at least bring the RF fence in 20 feet before next season.
  18. 1 Training staff doesn't have players in shape 2 Hitting coach teaching all the wrong things 3 Alcoholic manager asleep at the wheel 4 GM unable/unwilling to do anything about 1-3 5 Owner who cares about everything except winning
  19. Was Alex Bregman just getting upset at an unfair advantage given to the other team?
  20. Is there such a thing as a 777 day injured list? Asking for a friend.
  21. Yes, if Sosa is the guy they think can be a starting SS/2B in the future, he will be the one who goes down so he can play every day. Seems like Romy's ceiling is utility guy at this point so you don't care as much if he only plays a couple times a week.
