I still say it won't help Beckham sending him down. What more can he do down there? You work on things and man up in the big leagues. Ride the storm out, baby. Sending Beckham down won't help us win games. He's old enough and mature enough to be in the majors. He has to ride it out up here and show what he's got. Team is going nowhere either way. Going down will not help him or the team. Playing Omar and Nix is no better.

GMs must feel dirty when they fire managers who have no chance. I mean, Hillman had to be tempted to tell Moore to go f*** himself. I mean, last year they acquired Jacobs for a year. They got Guillen who has been a disaster. Yuni has had 2 straight good games against the Sox, but he's sucked. Middle relief disaster after disaster. No good set up man for years. Bad defense for years, not really the manager's fault. Not much hitting on paper for years. Hillman may have screwed up Meche and makes the usual mistakes you can second guess, but nobody can manage that roster to greatness.

It shouldn't end because Pods remains a productive major league hitter. I enjoy watching him bat.

What do you mean? We were told after the trade he'd be fine at third base. The Royals had screwed him around moving him all over the place. I hate the winter when all these moves are justified. Then you see the guy play and blah. Same with Pierre. He's crap. But they sell him all winter as our new great leadoff man. Sure. Our team would be .500 at least if we brought back all of last year's regulars for this season, including Thome and Dye and Pods, leaving Beckham at third. This team should have stood pat if it was going to field a horses*** everyday lineup like this one.

Who do you want to bat second? And how that would it matter ultimately when out of these nine players six are currently sucking? You tell me how to best optimize this lineup tonight? Why not Beckham second in the order? Of these players in the lineup, Pierre (even though he's had some hits in May), Kotsay, Ramirez, teahen, Castro and Beckham all currently suck.
