Dodgers Showcasing Andy LaRoche
We always talk about Kemp. Are the Dodgers willing to trade that guy?

LOSS: Rangers 6-1 White Sox
Great point about OC. I was thinking recently when we were winning that he was a pretty good leadoff hitter. In the games in KC, I think he walked to lead off the first two games. I didn't realize he was in such an oh-fer.

Trade Winds Catch All
This may sound dumb and reek of panic just cause we've lost 3 in a row, but I think this year KW should make some moves right now. The team did a good job the first half in staying in the race, but don't you all just have a gut feeling (with the staff struggling of late and the offense still Jeckyll-Hyde) that this is the year KW ought to make a splash? If Paulie was playing like the old Paulie and our bullpen as rock solid as it was the first half, I might not have written this post. Maybe we are good enough to win it without a trade. Some of you guys/girls are pretty damn smart about baseball, and I'll respect your opinion on the matter. I just feel as of today, KW ought to do something this year. I realize only certain teams would deal with us since we are contenders. Other GMs do stuff this time of year. He's been on a roll with some great moves, shouldn't he make 2 more to help us make the playoffs??

LOSS: Rangers 6-1 White Sox
We need to do what the Royals did vs. us. Drop the opener and win the next two. A 2-4, 1-5 homestand is no way to start the second half. I know you gotta take 'em one at a time but this is no way to go into Detroit and Minnesota. Who'd have thunk it. We usually are a great home team.

LOSS: Rangers 6-1 White Sox
Man, the bullpen has been bad of late. Boone Logan is the latest arsonist. Sucks we got just one run tonight at home. The Royals rode their momentum from beating us 2 of 3 to trail at one point 19-0 tonight to Detroit. I can't believe we're already 1-3 since the break with all the games at home. That sucks.

Rangers @ White Sox 7/21/08 7:11pm
Brian, have you always been like this regarding the Sox? You need to get a grip IMO. How do you make it through a whole season with all the ups and downs? Currently things look bleak with the bullpen imploding and the bats now in the tank again and the Sox playing poorly against a bad team in KC and bad again against a fairly good team in Texas, but not a great team. Yes it looks bleak right now losing 3 in a row at home, but get a grip.

Rangers @ White Sox 7/21/08 7:11pm
I love Paulie and defend him, but why not do the reverse of AJ to get him going? AJ moved to second. I say bat Paulie eighth. He's obviously pressing. Just move him down til he starts hitting like Paulie. Less than 10 homers this type of season means drastic measures. Bat Paulie eighth! What ya think? AJ took off batting second.

Big game for Javy. Just one game but he is facing a great hitting team. Should be interesting to see if he's got good stuff.

Sox Option Russell, Call Up Clayton Richard
-- Wow, he's 6-foot-6. Hope he has command. Sometimes these tall guys are wild. Should be an interesting start against the hot hitting Rangers (except last weekend). Those minor leaguers in the clip are aggressive at the plate. They come out swingin.

Loss
Except for Gobble, their bullpen has been pretty good, rivaling the best in baseball history (the Sox bullpen according to Joe). We were lucky to win two of three against them in KC last week. So six games and we split with them. Not good.

TWINS or TIGERS
That four-game series in Minnie could be crazy. We need Joe Morgan to say our bullpen sucks so they get back on track. Like somebody pointed out, our bullpen has had problems since he deemed it the best in history. What's with Dotel today?? Just get the fricking job done instead of plunking Guillen. Does anybody know why Guillen batted for the lefty Gordon anyway??

Ozuna rejects assignment to AAA
Wow. Dodgers get him. I wonder if he'll make an impact.

Royals @ White Sox 7/20 1:05PM CSN
Why don't people blame the guys with the ball in their hands more than managers? Why not rip Thornton a new one? Oz is too easy. Glad to see Sox fans are completely ignoring Mariotti. Not one mention of that dumb column again ripping Oz about the Texas reliever. I love it. Mariotti is insignificant. Sweet. Good point Princess Dye. Your post actually makes a lotta sense. I never thought of that but you are probly right.

Crede vs. Fields
Some team will be lucky to get Crede. His home run/RBI numbers are pretty good for a guy who had serious back surgery. Anybody who knows baseball knows he's a great defender, and his D this year has been a fluke.

Loss
Poor BA and AJ. Both get clutch hits and nothing for it. AJP has to be embarrassed by being sent home by a dumb third base coach who doesn't notice their outfielder playing shallow to begin with, showcasing how slow AJ is and being out by a mile. BA comes through big time, but it's wiped out by a very dumb decision to send him.
-
Royals @ White Sox 7/20 1:05PM CSN
Nice job, Cox. You can't make AJ into something he's not. Anderson gets a nice clutch hit and for what? You to send him and get him thrown out by a mile. Not to pile on, but my god, watch how the leftfielder is playing shallow to begin with, and AJP is the runner. We can't wish him home. Use your brain. We let Royals off the hook. Guillen woulda had to make a horrendous play for us to score. Plenty of other goats as well. I hate to lose a game when we get that many hits.

Royals @ White Sox 7/20 1:05PM CSN
Thome, Konerko, Swisher comin up. On paper, these are pretty good players. Can they deliver in crunch time against a crummy team when we need this series win?
-
Royals @ White Sox 7/20 1:05PM CSN
If Carrasco pitches another scoreless inning he deserves much love and we must rally and win.
-
Contreras Placed on the DL
Bring up somebody who has been starting in minors. Please no Masset or Carrasco.

Ichiro on the block?
I thought Fields was a top prospect. How bout Fields, Paulie, Broadway, Macdougal and Dotel for Ichiro.
-
TWINS or TIGERS
Pretty close. Twins have been red hot since we kicked their ass.

Scott Linebrink out due to arm fatigue.
But why all the injuries? What ya mean? Explain more.
-
Sox Loser
Crede made the error, they hit a bomb shortly after and the rest was history. Two hits won't cut it. Bannister is a lot like Meche. Quite hittable some nights; other nights decent. We need to rip him and win 2 of 3 which would be a successful series.
-
Scott Linebrink out due to arm fatigue.
This is by no means a slam at Linebrink, but wow, pitchers today have so many problems. Are we ever gonna see a 300 winner again aside from some possible old guy close to 300 now? I say no way. I'm not implying Linebrink would win 300 as he's a reliever. It's amazing all the arm problems and pitchers like Zito hitting the brick wall. Hope he can keep the arm strength all season.

KC @ CWS 7-19
Dunno. He was limping. Sure he'll get the day off Sunday now.
