  1. Maybe Reinsdorf should give bonuses to players who hit line drive shots in the gaps and actually drive the ball after hitting it where it is pitched.
  2. Sox can't hit. Fields must play somewhere.
  3. If I was Ozzie I'd make Harold hitting coach and have Walker do Harold's job whatever that is.
  4. Lostfan I think you made a great suggestion. I like it.
  5. Hey thanx for the screen savers. I really do appreciate it. Thanx.
  6. I expected more than 4 innings of what I consider sub par pitching against a team of no names. I never said he cost us the game. But I guess I'm in the minority big time so I will now shut up.
  7. From the Trib: The Sox were 12-11 in April 2007 en route to a 90-loss season. But the pitchers and hitters are maintaining their confidence that better days are ahead. “Once everything clicks, it’s going to be even more dangerous because we’re in every game,” catcher Toby Hall said.
  8. Rather than argue with you and bore everybody else, I won't respond to your personal attacks. If you could convince me Masset had a quality start today, I'd listen. Four innings is not a quality start. If he is your next door neighbor, I apologize.
  9. Maybe it'd help if he'd hit the ball where it's pitched in crucial situations instead out grounding out or popping up to the second baseman/rightfielder. I like Thome but your stats are interesting.
  10. I keep repeating the line because it is not a quality start. I'm lumping him in with some other guys as one of the reasons we lost.
  11. Okay, he gave the Sox something. Four innings, five hits and three walks. For you to suggest that is close to a decent start is wrong. I stand my my statement he gave the Sox nothing. If it makes you feel better I'll amend it to "little to nothing."
  12. Kyle, Masset pitched four innings and walked three guys and gave up five hits. Are you a member of his fan club or something?
  13. You think Masset going four innings and giving up five hits and three walks is SOMETHING? Give me a f***ing break. Seriously, are you a relative of Masset? What's your problem? If you said Thornton pitched well that might be different. Two innings, no hits, four strikeouts. Masset's line is a joke for a starting pitcher.
  14. How many times does it seem like the Sox get shut down when some other team pitches some guy you've never heard of? Seems like a lot. Then we go with Masset. You think we'd get a good outing? How about four innings, five hits, three walks. Not great.
  15. That's what we said last year. That's the problem. It's time for Swisher and Cabrera to do what Oz and everybody said they were doing the first couple weeks of the season, bringing the "new attitude." Talk is cheap.
  16. This team is going nowhere if it has the kind of home record it has and goes on the road and drops series to the likes of the Twins. At some point this team needs to start doing something if it hopes to squeak into the playoffs.
  17. Our ss's lack of hitting is growing tiresome. The Sox can't get a clutch hit to save their lives. As expected we just gave away today's game. Masset was nothing. Our ss needs to bat ninth. Maybe we should go back to the days of Pudge Fisk and bat AJP second. Didn't Pudge bat second for a while there? Like somebody said in a recent post. Our only wins have been dramatic pull it out of our asses late. Our losses have been frustrating. If this keeps up, the new clubhouse attitude (Swish, Cabrera) won't mean s***.
  18. I love Oz, but it seems he's really concerned with resting players. Now that our ss finally got 2 hits in a game, he better not rest amorrow.
  19. I hope starting Masset isn't just conceding a game to the Twinks. Going 0-2 at Minnesota is not a sign of a contending team.
  20. Are you all for a Richar for Uribe swap? We could use another young guy's enthusiasm. Uribe sucks at the plate as many of you have pointed out all season. Oops I just saw in another thread Richar is out til June. That's not good if that's true.
  21. I don't think our guys are capable of this. They won't hit it where it is pitched more often than not.
  22. Cut bait on Uribe. Second basemen are a dime a dozen. When will Danny be ready. When he's healthy, insert him in lineup.
  23. Is Fields that good a defender? Paulie isn't bad and he's proven.
  24. I don't think discussing red flags is so negative a thing. I do agree with him that the Sox performance at home is a potential problem and worthy of red flag status even this early. I agree there's reason for great optimism and I think we're better this year, but I am a bit concerned about the Sox play at home.
  25. I hope it's a minor skid. Major is like a Ryan Howard 2-for-35. That would not be good.
