  1. I would think in high school and Little League and Babe Ruth a coach would DEMAND his batter plop down a bunt in such a scenario. But not the shift happy big leagues. The player still has to try to lift and pull and so often hits right into the shift. Disgusting. I think of a single in baseball as a player catching a fish in a pond and tossing it right back unless it's a whopper. Singles ... ah, who needs 'em?
  2. I'm convinced what we see is what we get. Sox are a mediocre team at best. Teams with ultra bad defense and at least four automatic outs in a lineup on a given night are going nowhere. The pitching, which I think is still a question mark, determines whether this team completely tanks or continues to hang around .500.
  3. I agree pork chop. What a great name. I haven't had pork chops in a long time. They are DELICIOUS cept when not cooked long enuf. Give me medium well or well done for my breaded chop.
  4. It's so tricky. In watching games, I've seen so many Sox hitters let cookies go by. Last night I forget which hitter was up, but somebody on the game thread wrote "swing the damn bat!"
  5. The strike zone in baseball blows. I don't know how pitchers can get anybody out.
  6. Wow. Moncada is good field no hit. What a play. ... And jose with the good glove.
  7. Sox are due for it to be just a cramp.
  8. Funny how those two old guys sitting behind home plate don't mind the rain. It's almost as if it's not raining on them. ... BTW I'm always shocked when peeps are at a baseball game and facing each other while talking. There's a fricking game going on. You have to be quite a narcissist to shift your body and have to look at somebody when talking when an expensive ballgame is taking place live. Watch those 2 chatterboxes in the front row on the center field shot.
  9. It's hard to go 3 for 38. It's almost impossible. Maybe he's a bust. Or injured.
  10. I love when Jose takes his walks. Shades of Big Hurt.
  11. How can anybody not love Tim Anderson? He is a phenom and a lock for all star game again. He is a special player. Good hitter, good fielder cept when he loses focus. I'd give him an A.
  12. Is it always a month minimum on the DL when a Sox player hurts the hammy? Has anybody really come back immediately? Seems to me it's always a month or so.
  13. Man Rich Hill throws slow. Kaboom. Home run by Burger. Nice blast. Frankly the other righthanded hitters should be ashamed of themselves. Rich Hill is soft tossing stiff. Good career, though.
  14. We ignore it. We let them do what they want forevermore and let America tumble.
  15. I wonder why Cease stunk. Hadn't he been money in the bank? Pretty dominant? Out of nowhere he gets pummelled.
  16. I worship Stoney but he probably should get off Twitter a while. It can drive you crazy and he's been a little bossy lately.
  17. Yeah, I know my position is wrong, the opinion provided just cause I'm so pissed. No need to risk injury. I'm just pretty much accepting the team blows and moves like that really are unnecessary cause this team is no good.
  18. Why? This team blows. Just let him hit.
  19. Burger got a cookie on the pitch before the one in the dirt. Bash the ball.
  20. Tony is so funny with his rest. Taking Timmy out is so soft, just cause team is getting bludgeoned. He had two hits, let him have a night.
  21. Suddenly the Sox are the new Baltimore Orioles.
  22. True. I love Steve Stone but he should stop singing a positive note on Twitter.
  23. I'd be OK with that. It truly is time to fire people. HOWEVER that costs money, lot of money to pay Tony's salary the rest of his deal, pay Hahn's contract and NO WAY Jerry will do that. This embarrassment should cause firings tho. No more defending Tony. He needs to go relax somewhere and fish for a few months.
  24. I'm OK with getting rid of Tony. That is all. This team is a mediocre mess. Losing like this at home is a total and utter embarrassment. So Leury to pitch one or two innings?
  25. Wow just tuned in. 13 hits to one. Brutal.
