  1. What's it like at the ballpark today? Wat you eating and drinking? Is it a glorious day?
  2. I read the ESPN.com version and Tony didn't say anything bad. The main part about him. ... "La Russa reiterated his respect for Kapler's intentions but thinks his form of protesting is disrespectful to servicemen and women. "Some of their courage comes from what the flag means to them and when they hear the anthem," La Russa said. "You need to understand what the veterans think when they hear the anthem or see the flag. And the cost they paid and their families. And if you truly understand that, I think it's impossible not to salute the flag and listen to the anthem." The Giants' manager said today he may not protest on Memorial Day BTW. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34005391/san-francisco-giants-manager-gabe-kapler-suspend-protest-national-anthem-memorial-day BTW if the Giants manager is going to speak negatively about the USA, other sports figures have the right to counter his points and point out some positive things about the USA. Free country. I think Tony should resign cause his team is grossly awful but I don't mind him standing up for the military and saluting those who gave their lives for our freedom. Peace out.
  3. To a certain extent. My eye test tells me that they let cookies go by A LOT and swing at crap. It's truly like Murphy's Law. I saw some meaty pitches from the Cubs tonight that the Sox just let go by.
  4. I bought the hype cause seriously, on paper, Eloy, Robert, TA, Moncada, Abreu, the various catchers Sox have had, to go with Cease, Kopech, Gio, Lopez (he was supposed to be a stud as u recall), and overrated bullpen guys really looked like a dynasty on paper. Eloy, Robert, Abreu, Moncada in itself was a dandy foursome to dream about.
  5. One of the worst losses of the year considering the big crowd, anemic bats, bad coaching at 3B, bad managing in terms of Harrison in the lineup and leaving Cueto in. Sox don't care. No sense of urgency. They figure they'll beat Minnie like a drum in head to head contests the rest of the season. Sox got a day off yesterday. Gee the rest really helped.
  6. Sox hitters all need a do over on the season cept for TA. What a sick routine high fly ball there by Sheets.
  7. Sox are lost. That was a meatball on pitch one to Sheets. What a mess.
  8. LOL at that pop up when given a cookie.
  9. Hinrich should get a tryout for 2B. He'd hit at least as well as Harrison.
  10. The tank years were certainly low pressure years. Sox were trying to lose and fans had some "name players" to drool over as they made their move thru the system. Only a few fans seemed to be against the tank.
  11. No offense to you, but the Sox need to play ball and not worry about saving players and resting players. It's annoying. Just play the game and get hot, White Sox.
  12. Not the right time for AJP. Too inexperienced combined with outspoken. It's not like he's beloved by all the players. Bring Renteria back as fill in if you don't want Ozzie.
  13. Awful at bats. Team looks dead (I know that's subjective). A lousy Cubs team owning the Sox in Game One. Bring in Ozzie or ask Renteria to be interim the rest of the season. Tony should resign now and go enjoy retirement. If they don't want to do this at the very worst demote the 3B coach immediately. His blunder was a factor tonight.
  14. I don't hate Harrison I feel sorry for him. He has no chance in MLB anymore.
  15. I understand. But instead of hitting a rocket where that Cub did, all he needed to do with steer it through an obscenely huge hole on the right side or bunt.
  16. And yet the 3B coach keeps waving 'em home. Educate him or fire him please.
  17. They shouldn't get rid of the shifts. Baseball players should adjust or they deserve to be out.
  18. Again, he wants Harrison to be a good hitter. He just isn't. Bat him ninth.
  19. He's not a bust officially but he's not a top prospect.
  20. Geez. How many times do we uninformed fans have to say you can't just wish a guy had average wheels and can score on a hit from second base. He had NO CHANCE. It takes a Little League coach to understand that. He was out by the proverbial mile. addendum: Sox still conceivably can beat these bums, or they could pull a Red Sox and lose 16-4.
  21. Oh my. This poor guy has no chance with his hammies. Even if he warms up a whole two hours in the future, there's so much down time in baseball followed by sudden movements he stands no chance of being healthy IMO. Sox need to hire a specialist for training to at least try.
  22. I will take a shot and say no. (Though I would not be stunned if the team at some point gets hot, hot hot). I am thinking this Sox team is not built for modern baseball. Not enough successful lift and pull in the lineup and four automatic outs on a given night makes me think the offense will not be good nuff to get them int the playoffs. The defense is not playoff worthy. Finally the pitching is not built for modern baseball. Potentially I like the starters, but only going 5 innings is not good enough with this lousy bullpen. The Sox have a great closer but you've got to get to the closer with a lead. I'll gladly eat my words if TA, Moncada, Abreu, Vaughn, Grandal, Robert, Eloy turn into superstars (TA and Robert are only ones playing at superstar level). If they do, Sox could still make the playoffs.
  23. How dare you use a W/L record as a category for a pitcher. The stat people decided W/L meant nothing so it means nothing. Your post was good other than those two sentences tho IMO.
  24. The Sox record is actually pretty good (22-22) for a team this unlikeable and lousy. If you like ground balls on offense and popups this is your team. If you want to see your team lose and lose by big crooked numbers, this often is your team. And blowing that late lead vs. Cleveland was simply inexcusable. That's the night Tony should have told Jerry he needs to retire for good. Ozzie shoulda took over as interim, let Tony become an adviser to the owner who does nothing but count his $$.
  25. One of the worst starters to wear a Sox uniform. Man he stunk. Sox have had a ton of miserable pitchers and he was right up there.
